One principle I’ve adopted since I hit 40 was don’t be afraid to time box. There’s a trade off for projects that we are passionate about and the time and investment that comes with them. If you time box your habits and projects you are more likely to choose the ones of higher value and follow through on them.
I agreed with your reflection on being a pragmatist and be real with what you want. Now in my 30s, and realising that after spending 9 years working to only found out that my true passion was the first job that I left. Did I regret, that I lost valuable working experience? No, it was a great experience as you get to explore what the world got to offer and finally discover your core passion. Project "Life Transition" in progress
This is so true! I see this at my job! I am a pragmatist and I get frustrated with people trying to be a certain way or too perfect when it's not necessary.
Successful people don't become that way overnight. most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..
Your advice is fantastic. You’re not only smart but filled with wisdom beyond your years. Wish I learnt how to manage my finances more like you 10 years ago.
Before I even finish watching the video, I’d like to add how important it is to implement the first lesson in parenting. It’s a game changer. It’s a disaster to raise a child being a perfectionist, and yes, starting with literally ordering that pizza, or ‘planning’ a weekend.
The "perfectionist" versus "pragmatist" dilemma needs to take into account the risk-reward outcome too: it's easy to be pragmatic over a dinner choice but less so when the stakes are high e.g. choosing a car seat for your child; trusting someone with a large investment or even finding the right partner 🤣
I don't really agree with this. You can be pragmatic in those big choices too. I don't need to know the specs of every car available, I just pick one I like and has good reviews. (Same goes for car seats) I didn't spend years looking for the perfect partner, because he doesn't exist. You have to find someone that is willing to work on the relationship with you as a team. Of course you have to like each other but I think a lot of people nowadays, quit their relationship over minor things like not having the exact same interests. If you agree on the big stuff and have good communication, you can get very far. (10 years in atm). I have a friend who is a really big perfectionist and she's been looking for the perfect home for years, it doesn't exist. You have to make it your perfect home. The only thing you can't change, is the location.
"Paying to free up your time" is something I learned as I entered my thirties. It made it SO much easier to decide what was and wasn't worth my time to do, as well as what I actually enjoyed doing.
You’re saying everything I’ve always thought, absolutely love your channel and your perspective!! You got a new subscriber here. And also a HUGE thank you for getting straight to the point and featuring the books you gain your insights from. I will share your channel with my 13-year old daughter, who is extremely bright but needs to hear things from someone other than her mom 👩 😅. I would love for your to make a video about books you’ve read that helped you find your path and shape your views. Thank you!
Life Lessons 1. Be happier with your food order 2. Invest in your ability to start from scratch 3. Not be stuck in your ways 4. Extraordinary results come from doing ordinary things for extraordinary periods of time 5. Be Real about what you want 6. Pay to free up time 7. Pay attention to your credit score
Great video once again! The growth of your channel is well deserved! I'd like to add that you should only outsource things you don't enjoy doing. Working constantly on tasks you enjoy gives you a lot of psychological leverage for the hard tasks you have to do yourself!
Pay to free up your time is my favorite. Over the last few years I've adopted this. I don't have to do everything or anything because I can. My time is more valuable. I waste that time if I am not my best self, trying to do it all myself. 😊
The part about not being stuck in your ways is important but becomes a lot more challenging after 40. It's one thing to be adaptive but in terms of habits, you change slowly with massive effort. I was thankfully told this at 30.
I have over time had to learn these same lessons the hard way. I am older and all the information that is out there now was not available in years past. I have tried to pass along what I have learned to my kids and anyone else who would listen. The game has rules and once you understand those rules and use them to your advantage it then makes sense. There are people out there that tell you one thing but in the end they want you to do it their way which is not in your best interest but theirs. It is really simple if you pay attention to what they say and do what you feel comfortable with and look at the risk you are willing to take.
Hi Nischa, i’m really loving your videos and feel like i’m learning so much! Can you please do a video on budgeting for house renovations? How do we fit these savings in along with investing/paying off mortgages etc? I really want to invest in the stock market but also need to budget for the house renovations and struggling to balance it all! Thank you 😊
Great video thank you , I’m 40 years old and really the careers advice was woeful when I was at school only finding what I want to do know after wasting years in jobs I didn’t want to do
I would definitely love your take on the skills that are more useful or can generate higher income that one shouldinvest in. Thanks for all your videos and for keeping us informed 😉
You and I both, but that’s just looking backwards. Good for us that we have realized life happens forward, not from the past happening. KEEP MOVING FORWARD, learning from mistakes of the past and present so the future can be brighter. DEAR YOUNG ME …… wish I can tell you what I know about now. 🤷🏻♂️ such is life. You amaze me every week Nischa 💐 thanks again ( stay like water, it also good for you 😉
New to this chanel and I love it so far, very inspirational and it sort of came at the right moment for me. Keep up the amazing work Nischa and thanks for all the help!❤
I find your videos very interesting and informative. You speak in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner, making your material easy to understand. Keep smiling! You have a beautiful smile.
The same is here. There are lessons of life wish I knew them earlier so that I could be either the richest man or the greatest philosopher ever lived! 😊 Take it easy. And take care.
This 12-week challenge is quite exciting. I was not sure about my challenge, but now I'm very sure on what I want to do, and it will be very interesting to see what happens at the end of it.
Awesome like always Nisha, you are one of the few RUclips channels that I don't miss watching your videos. Thank you for sharing all this great information.
Nischa is right. It is good to negotiate a pay rise and also learning new skills in your industry will earn you more money, which is what I'm doing at the moment.
Hi Nischa it would be great if you do a video about taxation for small businesses in the UK. For example what taxes we are required to pay and managing expenditure and income
Consistency: I spent time producing podcast episodes I wasn’t sure anyone was listening to it but when I hit 50 episodes it felt nice, now I’m on 61! Thank you Nischa
great video! lots of great tips! i'm going to consider or reconsider some of these into my life. good luck on the bootcamp, wow daily videos, that's quite a bit of work! but then one of your tips is to outsource, thats a great one!
Thank You so much Nischa i always grow wiser and improve my life with your wise counsel, in one way or another it gets better for me because of You. Thank You Nischa with all my heart! 💖💖 I am definitely the pragmatic type of person. A couple sayings or ideas I really like are 1. done is better than perfect 2. don't let perfect become the enemy of good 3. “Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.” Winston Churchill
I admire your perseverance and dedication. I have been working on my RUclips channel consistently for a year now, but I’m not seeing any major progress. Hope what happened with you and what you said about ‘ordinary things leading to extraordinary results’ works for me too. 🙌🏼
Hi Nischa hopefully you see this, I am a first time buyer with a cash deposit, should me and my partner wait for a house crash with interest rates rising or not?
@nischa Thank you for the amazing videos and advice you share. One suggestion would be , when you do videos likes Top 5/7 things - do a recap at the end to summarise the points . 😊
Could you please suggest good finance related podcasts that you listen to😊 Also you look beautiful Nischa and the amount of info you share is very very helpful for a beginner like me ❤ Thank you for what you do.
Awesome Nischa! Love all the videos! Very motivating. I appreciate your honesty of how difficult and relentless you must be to pursue success! Keep it up!
I’ve been following you and enjoying your advice for awhile but since, a lot of other creators are popping up and I keep getting these ads to sign up for these free seminars or talks. Had I not been flooded by these I would have signed up in a heartbeat. But now I’m wondering why all those people want me to sign up for things and what’s the gain out of it as nothing it completely free I’ve learned. Can you say more about privacy and ways our information is treated when we sign up to the boot camp?

I'm using hotmail. I will try again
Thank you
I'm in. I used my Gmail account instead of Hotmail and strangely enough it worked 🙂
Unfortunately, I keep getting this error message "Sorry, your submission failed. Please try again." whenever I'm trying to sign up.
Sharing this with my nieces who just graduated from high school and college. It's good for them to hear from a young woman who has her stuff together.
