I'm back to tell you thanks. This method worked on an Ipad Mini 4 running IOS15.7.8. No problems restarting afterwards.
Question: Should I install the IOS15.8.1 update that shows up in Software update on the Ipad?
Sadly its not permeant as soon as the phone shuts off resets or looses power it will revert right back to being icloud lock...i wish there was a way to remove the icloud from the device
