    What a beautiful cardigan. I have always avoided the star stitch as nobody seems to show how to do it up close, or slowly. Your tutorial is clear and easy to understand for beginners and experienced crocheters alike. Thank you for all your tutorials :)

    Could I make this bigger, say 3-6months, by using larger size crochet hook? I love your items and you make your tutorials very easy to follow. Thank you for posting them.

      I have star stitch booties as well on my channel. Sole and top part the same like you made before, for ankle part I used star stitch. I love 2 stitches Front Post and Back post because they make hats stretchy and star stitch because this stitch looks great.

      @@HappyCrochetClub For girl, she wears a size 4T and how did you do the Star Stitch Hoodie? That is amazing!

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  2 года назад +1

      @@sonjajohnson4132 hoodie is the same as a collar, just crochet up longer. For the hoodie, I skipped 8 stitches, and then I joined yarn, chain 3, and start to make a star stitch.
      Just try to make both sides the same, leave unworked the first 8 stitches and the last 8 stitches. If for example left 7 stitches in the end, then can make first-row single crochet and increase 1 stitch.
      Cut off the yarn and then skip these 8 stitches and join the yarn and chain 3 and start to make a star stitch. When hoddie ready ( I made 8 inches long, join together with slip stitch. Then join yarn in the first stitch where button band and crochet all around hood single crochet.
      I hope you understood.
      I will try to make a sweater for you but this takes time. Actually, I already tried but there can see the seam in the back. :( I still thinking about how to make it better. I mean how to make it without a seam. :)
      Because I working I do not have much time, so this channel is just my hobby. When I have time I will do it.

      @@sonjajohnson4132 I made a template, a star stitch sweater without sleeves yet. I like to work out sizes. I found this video for measurements.ruclips.net/video/80gOk0O4Smw/видео.html
      I have only 2-3 years long sleeve top at home. So I used these measurements from this video.
      I hope this size will fit your girl. If you like to make it bigger, I mean wider then let me know. At the moment 26 inches wide. Also, I made it from the bottom up to the top.
      In the beginning, I started to make it from top Reglan, but I do not like this seam on the back. :)
      Also, I used Double knit yarn #3 and 5.00mm crochet hook. I used 4 colors Pink, lilac, white, and dusty pink but can one make also 1 color.

    Lovely cardigans, I've now made 8 in different sizes for twins (not yet born) could you do the tutorial for the hood please

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Год назад +2

      Thank you! Just skip 5 dc on the neckline. Join yarn, make Ch 3, and start to make star stitch until the last 5 dc. Skip the last 5 dc.
      If for the last star stitch no enough stitches to make a full star stitch, just make how many stitches you have. The last, hdc in the same last stitch. Ch 1, turn. Continue as you made the cardigan body until you have 19 cm / 7.5"-8". Sew together. Sc around a hood. Start in the corner, into the button band.

      @@HappyCrochetClub do you have a tutorial for doing the hood? I find written patterns confusing

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Год назад

      @@sharonlarkin1416 Sorry, but no! If you are happy to make a simple dc hood, then skip the button band, join yarn, and make dc in each stitch start in the same, in the end, skip the button band, Ch 1, turn,
      For the next row, dc in the same stitch, dc in each stitch, and keep repeating until you have 19 cm or 7.5 inches. Fasten off. Sew together. Sc around a hood. It is a simple way.
      If star stitch hood, then I already wrote for this other lady. If it is hard for you to understand, then maybe you can try a simple way using dc stitches.
      P.S hood the same way as the body, exactly the same, the only difference is there are not enough stitches for 1st row to make full the last star stitch. I made star stitches full row and the last with fewer stitches. After the last star stitch made In the same last stitch make hdc.
      And then after the same as the body. Please watch how I start making star stitches for the body part. Fold a body part and you see a hood. :) Maybe this helps.

    Is that made in dk yarn how many balls of yarn would I need?

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  2 года назад +1

      Yes, DK yarn. Double knit yarn in many different types. Thicker and thinner. I used Stylecraft yarn 100g ball - 295m.
      For a 0-3 months cardigan, you will need 80g of yarn. It is the weight of my baby cardigan.
      If you have yarn for example 100g ball - 250m very possible your cardigan comes out a little bit bigger and maybe a little bit more yarn needs it. I think 100g yarn is enough with any DK yarn.

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Год назад +2

      No, but you can easily make the hood Instead collar.
      Skip 5 stitches (button band) and join yarn.
      Row 1. Chain 3 and start making star stitches. End of the row also, skip the button band 5 stitches. In the last star stitch, the last loop space, in the same space make a half double crochet. (the same as a cardigan row.)
      Row 2. Ch 1 turn, in each space, make 2 half double crochet, the last stitch hdc in the corner. Chain 3 turn and start again star stitch. repeat these 2 rows until you have 20cm/ 8 inches minimum. then sew together, join yarn in the first stitch button band, and single crochet all around the hood also the last 5 stitches button band.

      3-6 months 60 chains
      6-12 months 66 chains
      12-18 months 70 chains I do not know exactly, but you can try. Raglan sleeve should be 14cm, chest 56 cm approx. sleeve 20cm if measure from underarm.
