@@KendraWilson Research the glycemic index. Many vegan options are very high carbohydrate (beans, grains/quinoa, pastas, many fruits, especially dried fruits, etc.) and can cause insulin spikes, which cause increase in human growth hormone, which increases testosterone.
I remember using benzoyl peroxide as a teen, but it hardly worked in my case, what did, however, work was cutting out meat, that cleared up my acne by 95%.
The problem with this is that there is no standardized way of buying tea tree oil. As a dermatologist I routinely see patients with contact irritant dermatitis from tea tree oil, so if you do choose to do this, I would suggest finding the exact strength used in the study listed above.
From somebody who has tried both: my acne started when I was 14. With 16 it was so bad that I started with Benzoyl Peroxide. Over the years it helped me with fighting my acne but at the same time it irritated my skin making it dry and slightly itchy. Which then caused new pimples and I ended up in that vicious cycle where I couldn't stop using it because it made my pimples go away but it also caused new ones. Slowly increasing the percentage and never getting really better, just short term wins. Then a friend introduced me to the idea of mixing Aloe Vera gel, Jojoba oil and a few drops of tea tree oil. Within a month the redness, drieness and small pimples disappeared. Now (two years later, age 24) my acne is finally completely healed. Since three months I stopped using tea tree oil too, because I dont need it anymore. Now I use only a mix of jojobaoil and aloe vera. I use tea tree oil only on the five PMS pimples that I get once per cycle. Since a year I also take evening primrose oil pills. That helps too, especially in winter when the cold dry air attacks the skin. Hope this helps somebody. I know the physical and mental pain that acne causes.
@Rad Derry I'm already avoiding dairy for three years because of my digestion. Sadly it didn't help with my skin. I have PCOS, I guess thats where my acne comes from.

Great video that should be seen by more people! So many people struggle with acne and not all may be able to use benzoyl peroxide. Good information backed by research and clear presentation.
I think I will start to use tea tree oil on my face :-). To this study I can also say, that from my own anecdotal evidence, that a whole food plant based diet can take a category 4 out of 5 acne down to a 1, only occurring once a week/ three weeks on one or two places on the face, without having to take Tetracyklin or anything else.
I had a friend who used copaiba frankincense and lavender equal drops mixed with solid coconut oil that had melted and then when it cooled down put a lid on the container and kept it in the fridge. He's 72 and said it worked in 3 months and was way cheaper than what his dermatologist recommended which didn't work anyway.
Also look into heavy metals that cause rosacea and he started taking digestive enzymes and things started moving out his body way quicker, and that also helped his skin.
Tea tree oil made my acne worse. Benzoyl peroxide dried my skin out in patches, made it sensitive and didn't make that much of a difference in my acne. I've tried a plethora of supposed acne treatments like honey, vinegar, coconut oil, hydrogen peroxide, as seen on tv acne cures, Clinique 3 step, and the list goes on and on, but nothing worked except 2 rounds of accutaine, but that only worked temporarily and the acne came back with a vengeance after I had my children. The doctor wanted me to take a third round of accutaine, but I refused because the side effects had been so severe. I thought I was just resigned to have horrible skin and constant break outs until I died. But every thing changed when I went vegan and started using NeoStrata. Within 3 months the redness and cystic acne cleared up and after a year of using Neostrata, all the little white heads and blackheads are gone. I've had acne all my life, but now I get compliments on how clear my skin is, and I don't even have to wear makeup any more.
I’m sure it is 100% okay for regardless of gender. Skin is skin regardless of whether you’re a male or female. Only individual sensitivity to products must be considered
Most people on RUclips just tell you to slap tea tree oil on your skin. You should never put tea tree oil on your skin undiluted. Essential oils are volatile substances and should always be diluted or they can cause severe skin irritation and you will not get the benefit. Use one drop of tea tree oil to about five cc's (about a nickel size) of a carrier oil that is non-comedogenic, such as hemp seed oil. You can also use a good quality aloe vera gel such as lily of the desert. If it burns when you put it on, you didn't dilute it enough.
Also, if you have rosacea, that means your skin is sensitive. So I would dilute it even more than just five cc's OR consider another option all together is essential oils can be harsh.
I've tried it all. And the best thing by far is freshly squeezed lemon juice massaged onto your face after a hot bath (to open up your pores). You can even use one half of the lemon as a tool, sprinkle it with salt, drip lemon juice from the other half on top of it, and use it as a peeling treatment. I'll do the peel once, then just the lemon juice the next 2 days, then im good for atleast a week+ It's great for getting rid of the excess oil/puss build up if you have large pores, and blackheads, in particular.
Dermatologists will happily hand you salicylic acid, which is much harsher. Don't be scared homie, lemon juice is absolutely fine as long as you don't abuse it, as with anything. It's much less harsh on your skin than benzoyl peroxide aswell in my experience.
This can also be used as a body scrub...Start cauciously on face to exfoliate as well. Healthy skin should be pink might take awhile to get really healthy skin
Fresh lemons cost $$$$ over here. I will give this a try with bottled lemon, and hopefully the preservatives won't cause issues. we'll see :) [yo, all you negative responders, mind your own business]
For me the best thing was a honey mask 1-2 a week, but I haven’t bought any since going vegan. If you’re not vegan or you don’t have a problem with using honey, it’s pretty impressive stuff. Never irritates, soft skin, no more redness, no more pimples.
I used a single drop of tea tree oil diluted in a ton of moisturizer. It broke me out horribly and took a couple of weeks to recover from. I will stick to my 2.5% benzoyl peroxide.
how can you say you've been using the moisturizer for years with no problem if you're having to use benzoyl peroxide to cure breakouts? Clearly there is a problem somewhere... 🤦
