Pro-tip for Rachel (and other sewists out there): Hardware stores sell these Strong Magnets on a Stick things that are shaped like mops, but they pick up metal bits. They're supposed to be used for getting washers and bolts off your garage floor or whatever, but NAH, the BEST USE for them is getting all the needles and pins out of your floor before you step on them.

The only problem is a lot of pins these days aren’t magnetic. I think maybe cheaper ones aren’t? I don’t know the cause but it’s super annoying... But magnets are the best pin holders so I always double check the pins before I buy any!

Can vouch for the pins outliving you. I bought my home 10 years ago from an elderly couple who had lived here for over 40 years. I am CONSTANTLY finding pins stuck between floorboards and behind trim, in cupboards and closets, and sometimes even inside the walls. Carol's sewing legacy lives on!
What about a nice, comfy, padded stool to sit on when using your blackboard, instead of having to scrunch down? Also, I feel you need an accompanying pointing stick to complete the effect.
Something that always stuck with me about the setting of Nightmare Before Christmas is the heavy use of texture in stop motion. In Halloween town the environment rarely has smooth edges and its all looks cracked and detailed. Even the hills, trees, and buildings match this.
Because I know you will appreciate the story; when I was a little kid in Florida, there was a lady in our neighborhood who we called the Spider Lady because not only was her ironworked screen door made to look like a gigantic black widow on a web, but there was just all kinds of different motifs around her house that looked like spiders. And with the Spanish moss dripping from the trees all around her house, it just had a really spooky vibe. I genuinely cannot remember ever having met her, but my older siblings do. I've seen a few people suggest magnets for picking up pins, and I agree, it's so much easier! Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my most favorite things in the world, so I'm definitely doing this! Last year I followed the clay portal door tutorials for Christmas Town and Halloween Town from Midnight Crafts and loved them, but I'm excited to try the life-sized scale of this! BTW, that mustard color combined with your hair color and skin tone is perfection. 👌🏻
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Being in Australia I always get ahead of myself and start checking for the latest on our Friday and then remember we are a day ahead. Even though we don't celebrate Halloween in Australia it is fun to watch you enjoy it ( plus it is my birthday). So just wanted to say thanks for always being ready to share your projects and life, even when things don't work out so well. 😄
Love ya, but in the St Paddy's day door it for SURE would be rainbows and pots of gold and leprechaun running around (good or evil you decide), tons of green, and fairy circles galore...still magical! None of this 'grown up,' disillusioned reality stuff!

7:06 - respirator! I was afraid that you wouldn't mention the importance of having good ventilation and using a high quality respirator, when using heat on craft foam, because the fumes are highly noxious and toxic! You did show the respirator for a short while, but didn't actually mention it out loud. When using heat on foam: Always work in a well-ventilated area: fan, exhaust, open window, outside is best of all- weather permitting. AND use a high-quality breath filter, so that you do not inhale noxious and dangerous chemical vapors, and/or plastic dust from dremeling. Safety first! The pumpkin tree door turned out FANTASTIC! Thing of beauty, and so easy! Thanks for sharing your processes with us.
the fact that i unconsciously stopped drawing for a second to do the the little chin on the back of your hand thing when you say ' I upload every/almost every friday'--

I haven't felt very autumnish this year bc of stress and dumb stuff, but you remind me to slow down a bit and enjoy what's happening around me!! Thank you!!
A Mardi Gras door would be Halloween + St Patrick's Day + more beer + music +lots of plastic beads. Next year in your new house you should go all out and do all the doors and do a Nightmare Before Christmas themed yard.
I literally had this idea for years. We've already been working on the tombstones last year. I have the pvc to start Jack. The goal is to have all the doors and decorate the graves ect for each holiday with each door.

You don’t need to apologise! This was awesome video! I completely agree, how has no one made this before?! It’s brilliant!
Love small projects! Makes me feel like I can do it too
the fact that i unconsciously stopped drawing for a second to do the the little chin on the back of your hand thing when you say ' I upload every/almost every friday'--
This was too cute! Plus it can live permanently at your new house so you can always have your fav time of year with you 🎃
this was so fun!!! I moved this year and don't have the budget to buy all the decorations I want, so I've been having to DIY stuff this year, which makes this video perfect!!
The fastest click and I have never been so early. This makes me want to go out and make some pumpkin doors... or at least some pumpkin nail art.
This is a project we all can do. I like it!
Honestly, if Frodo blocked the frame the whole time and we saw you do nothing, I don't think anyone would mind 😅 he's hecken adorable
"Who put me in charge of me?" is a mood. I feel that exact way multiple times a day!
Rachel, that orange sweater with the black little ribbon at the neck is the cutest! It says Fall, October, almost Halloween, all the lovely words to described, SO FREAKIN CUTE! You made this weeks project look easy enough that I have foam, pumpkin orange & latte paint waiting at pick up for. Hopefully I can pull it off. As always, thank you for the smiles and lol moments!
Have a joyful week,
Audri
I'm trying to craft Christmas presents and my costume for comic-con (also in December), all at the same time... because I clearly hate myself. There are few things I break for as an excuse to procrastinate, and your videos are definitely one of them.
I Loved that final outfit with the black dress and black and white striped shirt.
My husband and I are the weirdos in our condo complex who have our Halloween Decorations up all month. There's three trees in the shared yard area in the back of my unit, and I wish I knew if I was allowed to decorate it, because I'd make this for one of them.
Genius! Why has no one done this before?! Completely fabulously brilliant. Love it.
Person living in Rachel’s house decades after she dies “what’s that? A sewing pin? Weird. “
“Ow! Did someone throw a sewing pin at me?!”
Ghost Rachel “got em!”
0:14 I can just hear Binx say this in a hybrid Brain/Winifred Sanderson voice and I'm DYING!☠😭
I've absolutley been loving all of these fall/spooky season projects! ♥♥♥
Rachel!! I don't often comment bc I'm always worried about online interactions, but your channel makes me so happy and calm and I love you so much!!
When your dog needs to help remind you not to eat paint 😂🙈 This is such a cool project, though!!! Also, I'm kind of sad you won't be in this house anymore..? But I'm also really happy for you 💕
Love this video also your yellow black ribbon sweater is amazing 😻
I’m constantly asking who put me in charge of me.I’m like a cat; mostly independent but still really should have someone taking care of me.
You are wonderful, so never apologize for your content. When I was stuck at home through COVID you were literally the one thing I looked forward to each week. I wish I had time to sew and craft. Thank you for making all your beautiful art pieces and being a wonderful human at the same time.
