I like to do the inverted version of the chord (a power chord with an augmented fourth instead of the diminished second). When I was tuning my G and B string to the same note, it was super-easy to throw it in whenever. :D
The one guitarist that has always played with disonant chords and is a master at it,sadly does not get the credit he deserves, is MICK MARS from Motley Crue, A lot of people don't like Theatre of Pain, buts that where i personally hear a lot of disonant chords, along with all thier album's
I wouldn't say this is the most dissonant. Obviously the more notes you have the more harmony and/or dissonance you achieve, so a 3 note chord isn't going to generate THAT much dissonance to be called the "Most" dissonant, in my opinion.
@@MariUSukulele indeed! I thought that would take out some of the “dissonance” by changing the name, hence why i suggested it. I think the most dissonant chord may just be a cluster. But if we want to reduce it, it would be 1, b2 and natural 2. Chromatic is more dissonant than only #4ths (diminished chord), in my opinion, because the #4 is the biggest interval you can get, and the more you separate notes, the more you can get them to sound okay together. For example a b2 is very dissonant, but a b9 is less dissonant. So, conclusion, i think two b2nds stacked is the most dissonant you can get with three notes. But of course, thats my humble opinion. Have a nice day and thanks for replying!
I dunno man. A 12th fret E, 12th fret B, 14th fret A (top 3 strings) Is ridonkulously dissonant, but also very destructive in interference so it doesn't sustain long the A gets dragged down to its death in a hollow dissonance as it meets its doom. I find E C G B....... E C G B A....... E C G B...... E B A! works the best.
don't play into the whole "devil in music" myth dude, tritones were never banned or anything crazy like that. also minor seconds are dissonant but adding an extra octave of separation and playing them as minor ninths makes them much worse.
Never realised that your left handed lol. Doesn't that make it harder to read tabs and sheet music? Although I guess your used to it. All of my previous girlfriends were musicians and left handed, but played like a right handed person. The first played a fretless bass strung in a right handed config which is how i learnt to play, because i am left handed but play with my right hand. The second played electric guitar but strung in a right handed config, and the 3rd played drums, so I don't know if it matters whether your left or right handed for that haha.
Not only the notes are evil, but also the guitar itself.
Listen to the solo in the LOVEBITES song: "Dystopia Symphony". That $hit is wicked.
the part right before the vocals start is taken right from Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement; I don’t mind though because it is a fantastic song
You're a genius man the way you re-create songs genuinely entertaining and I love you for that man a great teacher you are🤟

That was an arpeggiation of the Viennese trichord.
Also, I didn't know there was a name for this chord until today!

Buckethead plays this a bunch on some of his harder shit... I always LOVED this
hahaha ahhhh attack of the space lasers! haha thats what tapping those chord's notes sounds like
I’d make the argument that it would have to be voiced E-Bb and the F up an octave to create a minor ninth between the E and F natural.
I feel the Korn awakening in me
I'm pretty sure Criss Oliva played that somewhere, if memory serves me it was on Mentaly Yours and Hounds from Gutter Ballet.
I swear I literally discovered this chord last night while jamming

I think he said in a couple of vids he's musically educated, as in college/University level so he'll have studied theory and scoring to a deep level.
Either that or he played Jazz for a while.
This shit cracks me up. "Evil chords" Ooo! It's not just the superstition of it. It's the "look" Eee-vil! 😂

I know I’m a little late on this video but I think Black Sabbath was one of the first to do something like this on their song “Black Sabbath” in 1970
Thought he was playing airbag for a second

Are you the guy that did LOTR 3 hour metal version?? The guitar is unmistakable
Yep I can vouch for that, walked up in a church last Sunday, played that riff and it summoned satan, true story🤘🏻😝🤘🏻

My friends and I call that the George Foreman chord because it's so greasy! \m/ It's also the most used chord in deathcore
sounds like symptom of the universe from sabbath
Having developed an ear for many tunings, this sounds much less dissonant than it used to.
Some people take themselves way to seriously and you know who you are
Jazz musicians be like: You are joking... right?
That tapping remind me a bit of On the B.o.t.a. by Gojira
You should teach guitar at a school or college that would be so sick
Sounds like the intro to larks tongues in aspic part 2
I thought you said tri-force until I read the text on screen
Listen to dysthymia or deathspell omega if you want to hear the craziest chords
Id go for a minor ninth over a minor second, bit of a stretch but it sounds way more dissonant to me

could be seen as a Bb powerchord over E, right?
Yes
Or maybe it could be written as Bbsus#4 right?
@@Danielshay you know what … i kinda doubt it, b\c you then won’t have the b2 interval in the right place. Let’s wait what master Shred has to say 😉
