God this set is beautiful. As someone who’s fairly new to collecting, I’ll definitely pick this up, and probably SS 49 as well because I agree, this bumblebee is the one thing that they absolutely dropped the ball on for this set
The darker Jazz is more movie accurate but the lighter one just looks cooler to me for some reason. But that one’s impossible to get so this works lol. And Ironhide looks amazing!
What a scene and especially what a soundtrack. So happy about this set. Ironhide and Jazz MVPs and Optimus with the blades is a fine addition for anyone who wants the blades but disliked the goofy chest ROTF version.
We need leader class-sized versions of the Studio Series live-action movie Transformers character figures. That way they can look more movie model-accurate in both robot and alt modes.
That dark blue with prime is so beautiful! I do wish we got a similiar scheme like the premium version but same with the black windows! Prime with black windows is gorgeous
Great pack and great review. After seeing these up close and out the packaging I'm definitely picking this up. Was sad to see the paint apps missing on Optimus legs wasn't just missing from the pictures and the final version would have them but never mind. As for bumblebee he's the only one I'll replace with another version as he does lack the quality the others have. But a small price to pay considering the price of the others on the after market now.
I'd rather they charged more and just gave these guys all of their missing paint apps. Another $10 for paint would have been MORE than enough to fix up these characters. I can use masking tape and paint silver easily enough, but color matching the blue on Prime's legs accurately is going to be VERY difficult.

I had ordered this set at the first moment when I saw the release notice.However ,when I compared these characters with originals ,the paint job was really disappointing me,but after watching this closer review,Damn I am so so excited to get this set ASAP.
Love or hate the BayVerse movies, the first movie is what got me into Transformers in the first place. I might have to order this especially since I missed out on all of these guys!
I think the Decepticon pack needs to be released in 2 sets coz the decepticons are larger vehicles and bots. But I'm still Hoping Hasbro can still add the missing paint apps since they did that on ER Optimus Prime's hands.
I don’t mind the colors cause so far every studio series figure I own that has paint are already chipping off after having it for a year not only that dotm soundwave already starting to chip off so I think it’s great for the longevity
I just preordered this, I’m so excited, I’m glad I put off buying the single ‘07 movie SS releases that I could afford. Ironhide and the Bayverse Optimus figures are so damn expensive that this is a life saver, I can finally add these guys to my collection.

With transformers you’ll probably never get better than custom paint work. Example, the studio series 2007 prime looked pretty mid, but I gave it a nice movie accurate paint job with the orange fades and all the flames, and it looks amazing.
I hope that they continue this with the rest of the movies so we can get thr different versions of the figures together as well, especially for characters like Ironhide, Sideswipe, and Optimus Prime. I originally got the jetwing Optimus but the tab that kept the grill together kept snapping off for me and I literally went through three of those figures until I just couldn't get him for a reasonable price/exchange him anymore.

One thing that i really appreciate this set for is giving all of them the dark tinted windows. Works so much better than the straight clear windows that some of ths original figures had
I pre-ordered this day 1 for Prime, but I think honestly my favorites of this set will be Jazz and Ironhide, they're just beautiful. I really like the set as a whole, and while Bee does look cheaper than the rest, I have minimal attachment to him so it doesn't bug me.
In most cases. Whenever a reissue of a bumblebee figure is released. The paint gets nerfed compared to the original and here are the cases I could think of on top of my head. AOE Bumblebee > TLK Bumblebee TLK new mold Bumblebee > Studio series bumblebee two pack Ss01 Bumblebee > Bumblebee with Charlie.
at minute 17:41 you can see a stress mark on the doors, which makes me think that the bunblebees studio series always have poor quality plastic on the doors, likewise the doors broke on 44 and in 72, because its plastic is shit
I think what I’m going to do is mix and match the best painted parts, or the parts I prefer (ratchet’s new head on the original body, Optimus’s transparent windows on the ss44 body, etc) and then keep the leftovers in storage
I would love to see a video game set where it’s all new molds of characters from the various games. A warpath figure from DOTM, breakaway from ROTF, some of the drones even, I just think those designs in particular could be fantastic figures
Amazing review! I dont mind the unpainted bits on prime and I love the tinted windows on all the figures. Ironhide, Jazz, and Ratchet are all improvements IMO so I'm super excited to get them. However in terms of bumblebee, do you think its better to get the dark of the moon one instead? Also is the shade of yellow the same for those two? Im wondering if I can headswap because I do prefer the head on this one. I would get ss49 but I know the clear plastic on some of those figures was pretty fragile when that figure was released. overall Im super excited to get this set! thanks for the great review

Paint is always a dropped bar, you only get some of the touches, never all of them. Still, I an glad to have a chance to get this pack. Missed out on the si gle releases. This is great for catch up. A RotF and more would be nice too.
Ive only been collecting for a bit and gotten almost no live action movie figures, but I really like these. In vehicle mode. For whatever reason this made me realize that I prefer live action in vehicle mode and cartoon and show version in robot mode.

My copy had a Bee with a broken right door- like part of it is chipped and loose, but it keeps coming off when I move it. Everything else is good- Ironhide and Optimus especially! Time to get SS-49 too?
Wished Hasbro just increased the price a bit to apply more paint than trade off some paint around. I would have liked the set mainly for Optimus and bumblebee but those are probably the worst from the set
Okay so here are my opinions on this set since I own all Movie 1 bots and cons including both ‘77 and ‘07 Bee. I’d say Optimus and Bumblebee are not even nearly as good as their original releases, like they don’t even come close. I will say I like the new tinted windows on the new Prime but apart from that, the section under the abdomen is missing the blue highlights he had on two plates on that section, just replaced with silver which is just more boring in my opinion, and the shins just plain suck without that colour break up of the red gray and blue, now it’s just red and light gray. Bumblebee just looks far cheaper, hell almost knockoff-ish but I appreciate the change of face sculpt somewhat. I don’t think I need to elaborate much further why he’s a downgrade since you just take a good look at him and can tell why. Ironhide looks ok, I like the new toe paint and the touching up on the faux rims, but no offence I’ve no clue what you were saying when the new gray pieces are movie accurate aince I checked the cg model and they are just black. While I think the rims look nice they could’ve gone with a gunmetal paint with some silver highlights I think to differentiate it more and have some nicer colour break up. The other two are improvements over their original releases, Ratchet being vastly superior and Jazz being a nice upgrade to an already amazingly done figure, I have to agree the darker silver is far more movie accurate. Unfortunately I do have to say I think the negatives slightly outweigh the positives here though, if you missed out on the first releases of these guys then by all means go ahead and buy this because these molds (apart from some aspects of Ratchet) are fantastic. However, my recommendation is if you already have these guys then don’t bother paying for the new set, because you end up with two improvements, one that doesn’t really do much, and two downgrades. Im not gonna spend £100+ for more movie accurate versions of Jazz and Ratchet (especially when that PF Takara release is a thing with a better shade of green) an alright Ironhide and a kinda crappy Bee and Prime. Good review as always but honestly I feel like they put too much care into some figures here and too little into others… it is a resoundingly mid set.
I would abso-frickin-lutely order/buy this, but it's like $120-$160 on Amazon (🙄), and I haven't yet gotten my recent paycheck, so this is subject to change. But if I could/ do eventually get these guys, Holy sh*t, I would have *soo* much fun customizing them, adding the color and details they missed, like the blue on Prime's lower shins, the detailed mechanics on Bumblebee's arms, his solid silver painted cannon (I'd probably give it a Graphite metallic color or black metallic color) among many others, but oh my GOD I'D HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!! 🥰🥺🥰🥰
Being honest, I’d rather just wait for premium finish versions of these guys, PF ratchet is phenomenal and I have optimus on the way. They’ll probably make the rest of these guys in that line
@@Jx2pose Probably... but there's no garante that we'll ever get SS32 Optimus Prime, or Ironhide. Let alone the rest of the decepticons(besides Megatron). The only reason why they didn't go with Jetwing/32 PF is because then they'd have to release PF Jetfire as well, and people just don't seem to care about premium paint all that much... Which is sad because ratchet is such a snack. And so is Megatron, which I just bought, it hasn't arrived yet tho.

Jazz is truly one of the best redisgns of the Bay films. That headsculpt is indeed a Bayversified G1 Jazz. There's no mistaking him.
My only real gripes with Jazz are the hands and lack of color compared to the other Autobots.

The thing about the shade of gold on jazz is that the one on the original release is actually more movie accurate than the one on the 5-pack release.

Okay so here are my opinions on this set since I own all Movie 1 bots and cons including both ‘77 and ‘07 Bee. I’d say Optimus and Bumblebee are not even nearly as good as their original releases, like they don’t even come close. I will say I like the new tinted windows on the new Prime but apart from that, the section under the abdomen is missing the blue highlights he had on two plates on that section, just replaced with silver which is just more boring in my opinion, and the shins just plain suck without that colour break up of the red gray and blue, now it’s just red and light gray. Bumblebee just looks far cheaper, hell almost knockoff-ish but I appreciate the change of face sculpt somewhat. I don’t think I need to elaborate much further why he’s a downgrade since you just take a good look at him and can tell why. Ironhide looks ok, I like the new toe paint and the touching up on the faux rims, but no offence I’ve no clue what you were saying when the new gray pieces are movie accurate aince I checked the cg model and they are just black. While I think the rims look nice they could’ve gone with a gunmetal paint with some silver highlights I think to differentiate it more and have some nicer colour break up. The other two are improvements over their original releases, Ratchet being vastly superior and Jazz being a nice upgrade to an already amazingly done figure, I have to agree the darker silver is far more movie accurate. Unfortunately I do have to say I think the negatives slightly outweigh the positives here though, if you missed out on the first releases of these guys then by all means go ahead and buy this because these molds (apart from some aspects of Ratchet) are fantastic. However, my recommendation is if you already have these guys then don’t bother paying for the new set, because you end up with two improvements, one that doesn’t really do much, and two downgrades. Im not gonna spend £100+ for more movie accurate versions of Jazz and Ratchet (especially when that PF Takara release is a thing with a better shade of green) an alright Ironhide and a kinda crappy Bee and Prime. Good review as always but honestly I feel like they put too much care into some figures here and too little into others… it is a resoundingly mid set.
I would abso-frickin-lutely order/buy this, but it's like $120-$160 on Amazon (🙄), and I haven't yet gotten my recent paycheck, so this is subject to change.
But if I could/ do eventually get these guys, Holy sh*t, I would have *soo* much fun customizing them, adding the color and details they missed, like the blue on Prime's lower shins, the detailed mechanics on Bumblebee's arms, his solid silver painted cannon (I'd probably give it a Graphite metallic color or black metallic color) among many others, but oh my GOD I'D HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!! 🥰🥺🥰🥰

Being honest, I’d rather just wait for premium finish versions of these guys, PF ratchet is phenomenal and I have optimus on the way. They’ll probably make the rest of these guys in that line
@@Jx2pose Probably... but there's no garante that we'll ever get SS32 Optimus Prime, or Ironhide. Let alone the rest of the decepticons(besides Megatron). The only reason why they didn't go with Jetwing/32 PF is because then they'd have to release PF Jetfire as well, and people just don't seem to care about premium paint all that much... Which is sad because ratchet is such a snack. And so is Megatron, which I just bought, it hasn't arrived yet tho.
