Wrong! Jinnah Saab wanted Urudu as a common language of Pakistan which included East Pakistan ( Bangladesh). When their separation movement started they wanted Urudu as their language. Yes, ofcourse it was not the regional language of India too. Coz this is a kichidi language of Hindustani,Parsi and other invaders mixed language, mainly used by the islamic soldiers.

As a Pakistani Punjabi, I’m ashamed to say that The older and the younger generation in the video are soo blinded by the propaganda of patriotism, centralisation of urdu with also censorship of Punjabi language which has caused there to be such little knowledge or awareness about our own Punjabi culture. Barely anyone celebrate Lohri, Teyyan Da mela, Baisakhi, Kanak katai or any other cultural festivals. We need to change and rather then running away from our culture, we need to embrace it. I was a Punjabi before a Pakistani. Pakistani only came to existence 77 years ago while my Punjab been here for decades.

Hindi/Urdu/Hindusthani are all originally from the prakrith language Khadi bholi .

I am a proud indian Sikh Punjabi from Delhi......living in North America for past 40 years. Historically going back thousands of years Punjab was a Hindu Punjab.... everyone spoke Punjabi. However after many Muslim invasions and force conversions it slowly became muslim. The current Pakistani muslims are tought so much hate against Hindus and Sikhs, they don't want to speak their language, which happened to be the language of their forefathers. They adopted Arab religion, Arab culture, Arab customs, they are ashamed of being Punjabi. Most Pakistani Punjabi consider Punjabi to be a backward and Pendu. It's shocking these guys hate their own mother tongue and their own customs and culture so much. Personally I am proud to be a Punjabi, our people in Indian Punjab has made Punjabi cool not only in India but the entire world. I also love our custom and culture in India.

Urdu Grammer is fundamentally hindi Grammer which in turn is mix of avadhi and braj bhasha and sanskrit language. AVADHI IS spoken in areas of uttar pradesh, UP around Ayodhya, birth place if Lord ShriRam, Lucknow ND upto kanpur. Then we have kanjauji bhasa spoken starting from kanpur , kanauj, mainpuri area. Stating from agra, mathura and Delhi, we have Braj Bhasa covering some part of Rajasthan.
URDU IS ESSENTIALLY hindi written in Arabic script.

I really like your efforts here, and I want to add a few points. Before stating those let me give you my background - both of my parents are from Odisha (an eastern state in India where Odia is spoken, but it's very similar to Hindi and infact the exact same alphabet atleast from the pronunciation's point and if you try to see closely you will feel like it's the same written in a different font), and since my father was in the Indian Air Force so I was born in Delhi and have spent my life in many parts of India before coming back to Delhi and had lived here for more than a decade. Then for the job I went to Bangalore (south india) and spent there again a decade. In between I also have spent significant time in Maharashtra and Goa (West India), Tamilnadu, Kerala and various parts of Karnataka (South India), J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, Himachal (North India).
The reason I have stated ALL the above is b'coz it doesn't matter in what language you speak. It matters what you say and it's not ok to demean any language or accent - and trust me here too people do that. But the right way to remind those who do that is by ignoring (if the other one is irritating only), or by laughing at the mock (if the other one is doing so to entertain), or by engaging in a constructive way.
Once again, a language is just a mode to connect and we are somehow molded in the way to connect with the most in our most efficient way as that is the best approach to show our abilities and intelligence. Coz, evolutionary mindset make us feel that the more we can connect with the more we will have a better chance to survive.

So Urdu is actually a fairly new language compared to many other languages of the region . Persian was the language of administration and business during Moghals and mixing that among the soldiers or the Lashkars that were deployed created a mixture one can name Lashkari.. A language is not complete without the Grammar , so all others that are spoken can be regarded more like a dialect of a language who's grammar it refers.

"Urdu" itself means military camp / lashkar.
The language adopted by Mughal militia was the local language with some persian words replacing local words.
Hindi-Urdu is one among atleast 16-types of Urdu. The others being Marathi-Urdu where Marathi is the base language, Gujarati-Urdu, Telugu-Urdu, Punjabi-Urdu, & so on.. depending on the location of the lashkar.
Urdu did not enrich the local language.. it merely replaced certain local words with Persian.
For example :- Replacing "dhanyawad" with "shukriya" would also be seen as corrupting the purity of the base language - by the purists of local languages. But the pro-Urdu person would insist it's enriching.

To put it in simpler terms, Urdu is a persiano- arabised version of hindustani/ awadhi/ Mythili, which are descendants of prakrits/ Sanskrit, and they are evolved from a proto indo-Iranian language. May be one call Mythili,Madhubani, braj, Urdu as dialects of a broader "Hindustani" language. Sadly for political and religious reasons Pakistan has usurped and appropriated an alien urdu and highly persianised it and supplanted as it's lingua franca, at the expence of its native languages like Punjabi and Sindhi.

Urdu is a language of Subcontinent el India, discovered/popularised by famous poet Aamir Khoosroo, as going by the popular says his mother wants to converse in a language that to be easily understoods. Combination of Hindustani, Persion, Turkish and Sanskrit.
U.P. Stood for Upper Province, but in Hindi it's called Uttar Pradesh.
Wish that common people start conversing in Punjabi language in Pakistan.

Hindi Urdu se nikli hai. Urdu Braj Bhasha Farsi, Arabic aur Turkish zuban ko mila kar bani thi.1947 se pehlay British raj me English Urdu official language thi akhand bharat ke. 1947 ke baad right wing communal Hinduon ne usko shuddhi karnay ka prayaas kiya aur us me se Persian aur Arabic words nikal kar usko Hindi ka naam diya. Fir bhe metro cities me jo hindi boli jati wo 75% Urdu hai aur hindu samajhtay hain ke wo Hindi bol rahay hain. Bollywood movies aur Indian TV par bhe Urdu he bol rahay hotay hain. Ye he karan hai ke Pakistani Indian movies aur serials shouq se dekh rahay hotay hain aur Indians Pakistani TV serials. Bahubali aur Mahabharat me jo shudh hindi boli jati hai wo Pakistanio ko samajh me nahi aati.
