The fogged transparent plastic may have responded to retrobriting because it's almost certainly UV damage. Just something to bear in mind for the future.
I couldn't find anyone trying it with clear plastic and I think it's probably too deeply ingrained (from internal reflections) and not something on the surface you can 'bleach off' so to speak. If I ever get a sample of something to test, I might try it, but I don't have high hopes
