finally a video with the exact wheel i want with a guide on how its done. cant wait to get mine
Hell yea!
Same
Yo was it worth it I wnna switch my wheel out too
Definitely a better feel than just the stock wheel! Just don’t expect the same FFB. Might feel less!
@@MamiyaMotors thanks for replying
Thanks for showing the details about the wheel bro I swear 🙏 I’ve been trying to find one.. you’re appreciated massively my dawg!
Well done man. I did this with my t150 and took apart the original wheel and turned it into a button box on the side. It’s nice to have. Cheers.
Id love to see I photo or vid of how you turned it into a button box, can't find any details or tutorials anywhere
@@mrbirdseatseeds I’ll make a video on it here soon, I’m building a sequential shifter for it for under 20$ in materials. Super easy also, nothing crazy..sub to my channel so you don’t miss it
Will do brother, looking forward to the video
@@billygames7107 Do you plan on making the video soon planning on doing this with mine
@@azert9425 yes I do actually. I should have it out in the next week maybe two max. Just got the rest of the stuff I needed. Thanks for reminder. Cheers
My TMX's inner ring must have cracked, and now overtime has begun to break apart and break away, the wheel has started to become looser and looser. I think this is my solution, plus somewhat of an upgrade
thanks for posting this!

“ I’m gunna lose my buttons! “
🙏😩😂
thanks for showing me how to open it i had made one on my 3d printer extra strong filament works like a charm and really snug so wont worry about it falling out much appreciated keep it up
Bro your driving is a1 you hit all the right paints you would in fd 👍🏼😮❤️
Bro this adapter link don't working
That’s a clean setup my dude 👍
Thank you! 👍🏻
@@MamiyaMotors yo i wonder if the selfsteer got slower with the heavier /bigger wheel?
Definitely a little slower but it’s less effort to turn the same angle because of the more leverage so it kinda balances out I think. Also with it being bigger kinda dampens the belt feel of the wheel motor. For me it feels better than the stock one. I also have all my road feel and stuff all the way low haha
@@MamiyaMotors could you show me how it selfsteers in a new video?
Take your most countersteer-happy drift car tho i wanna see how it looks
Btw do you have lut?
Can u show the setings of ur stering wheel i mean the force feedback
Idk why but this video had me dying 🤣😭
Hahaha why??
@@MamiyaMotors lol because ur just a funny dude
@@tj2jz98 😂
My man got his setup in the toilet. When he is pooping he can just start racing bro
I know right hahaha. It was a walk in closet actually. I need to make an updated setup video! I have my own whole garage and shit now
@@MamiyaMotors ye do a setup vid bro! I would love it
I remember the first time I plugged in my tmx and it started calibrating…I giggled
Hello will the motor strain if I put a wheel that weights around 2.2 lbs or will it damage the wheel and how much does your wheel weigh
Bro don’t have the link where I can buy the attachment for the wheel
Nice video! And a great tutorial since I really want to try wheel swapping at some point. Has your ffb gotten any weaker or has it felt weak using that wheel?
The ffb strength itself got a little weaker for sure. However, with the bigger diameter, the feel is a lot smoother and it feels more dampened. I really like the bigger diameter feel compared to the normal wheel tho
@@MamiyaMotors can it still output a tiring/realistic level of ffb or do you find it weaker than an average car with this bigger wheel?
You would probably feel a little less ffb than a normal wheel
Nice driving
NRG sells an adapter my only prob with tmx its got gears and its got a small ass wheel its good for karting tho
Yeah it’s definitely not the highest end tech for sim racing by any means lol. But adding a bigger diameter wheel and doing a LUT file for the wheel will greatly increase the smoothness and feedback while driving
@@MamiyaMotors I'm actually doing it now 5months later came back lol said fuck it until I upgrade I just got the cockpit all that sick of shit moving all around and being janky.
How's it working for you did you upgrade yet or still running same setup?
@@MamiyaMotors I hear you with the lut file tho it's a must and dynamic ffb etc ffbclip I messed my tune up and the wheel seems to be acting odd I think there's a internal upgrade for the tmx that stops it from going off center and skipping
@@1withthewhip361 I have upgraded to a NRG quick release for the tmx with the same NRG wheel. I’m not sure if they have fully released the quick release as mine was a prototype that I provided feedback for any changes needed
@@MamiyaMotors that's dope I just got the ebay thing in the mail but I can't buy the wheel from nrg do I just buy a normal nrg steering wheel?
Hi do u ran 100% feedback force (or how much do u use?)
hey i was wondering if you had a different link to the adapter bc the one you put down doesnt work anymore
My question is do you ever miss having the paddle shifter? I know certain cars default to paddle if you have an H pattern connected. I do all kinds of cars and not just drifting so I'm trying to consider my options.
That’s definitely a good point. I mainly do drifting so I haven’t really had many times where I encountered a paddle shifted only car. However, sometimes I do want to go rip a lambo or whatever that does not have a manual. So in that case, I would just go in the files and go to drivetrain.ini and where it says allow H pattern or something I change the 0 to a 1. Normally there is already a clutch value and shit so I would be able to use my h pattern normally then
@@MamiyaMotors I like that work around. Let me ask, would it be super hard to reverse this operation and put the old wheel back on? (Like estimate 5 min or 1hr to switch back?)
Probably possible! Just only keep like 2 screws holding the plastic cover, and then plug the wheel back in, mount it, and screw the little screws for the hub part that go on each side of the hub and then you should be good to go. ORRRR You could try to disassemble the stock wheel and try to seperate the wheel from the paddles and somehow hard mount the paddles to the base and still have the aftermarket wheel on
I don't grt what doing wheels swaps with wheels with no buttons exactly does can someone explain y? Yah obviously wheels with way more buttons and hardcore ones obviously but to replace the wheel with one with no buttjs or functionality I don't get it
Well the only buttons I use is the button on the base haha. I only have that as the back to pits button. I have my keyboard close by for other buttons. I also don’t really do much other disciplines of racing. I basically only do drift haha
Also, to me it feels a lot better because the bigger diameter of the wheel helps smooth out the feel of the motor
@@MamiyaMotors ah stupid me didn't realize this was pc so guess the controls on wheel don't matter lol and different shifter looks cool though
Do stl files exist for the parts?
So can you take off the circuit board for the buttons and put that on the wheel or nah?
Yeah you can! Just takes some engineering and creativity haha
Covid 19 and 3D printing have fucked the sim racing mod game up forever lol
o shit i didn't know they made sim specific wheels, its only like 20$ more than a knock off
Riiight 😂 yeah idk if it’s rated for real driving on a real car but it’ll definitely work for sim!
@@MamiyaMotors as long as it doesn't feel flimsy and wobbly on the wheel like some of the old Nardi knock offs im with it lol
The wheel would feel solid but depends on the adapter you have. My 3d printed one became a little wobbly
@@MamiyaMotors I have a 3d printer so I don't mind re printing one over time :) I had a printed clamp handle on my T150 that was surprisingly strong
Here I was so excited to install my new wheel… I got the adapter and my wheel is mounted. It is working with my games but it DOESNT work with CarX drifting ?!
I guess because the buttons aren’t plugged in to the wheel because you have to remove that main cord that plugs in to the board ….
So how would I fix this ?! 🥵 anyone help me!
And of course I broke the stupid plug in piece that is on the cord
Rippp, well there is a way to plug it in in the back of the wheel base. You just have to cut out a little hole and then you can just have the wheel hanging somewhere still plugged in. But I guess now you gotta get a replacement plug and solder it back on or something idk
Yeah I called some electrical repair store and they’re gunna do it for $100 🤦♂️ stupid simple mistake. Hopefully it works too! For now atleast I can play forza horizon 5 lol
what map is that?
Will it work with Thrustmasters own f1 wheel?
The link for the adapter for is bad 🥺
Ahh rip, must’ve changed or got taken down. I can’t really vouch for other ones since I haven’t tried them so I guess people will just have to hope it’s good haha
what are your cam settings? are you running box cam or something else
would be helpfull if you show what screws to take out you skipped that part and thats where people mess it up
I pointed and counted exactly what screws you needed to take out in 1:25. If that doesn’t show what screws to take out then idk how else to help you lol
Wait, so you don't need to buy that 30$ board?
Thanks but why 3rd person
Because I was a noob at driving and wasn’t very good at first person at the time haha
does this work with the thrustmaster t150?
No idea!
How did you get the old wheel on again with the cable. I want to get a spacer for my TMX but I still want the old wheel. Can you help me?
Well you would need to route the main cable up to the wheel. Idk if the cable is long enough to have accommodate a spacer
@@MamiyaMotors Thank you soo much with the help👍 I will try!
"Omg, it feel so weird, its soo big"
Pls let me know what the name of the handbreak so i can order it from amazon.
If youll send the link it will be very appreciated
Ty😁
I have a review video on the handbrake and a link to get it!
Hey what size Allen did you use?
No idea bro. I had a multi Allen tool so I don’t know the exact size
Does the adapter work with all wheel including f1 wheel add ons
There should be a bolt pattern specified. I would check your wheel and it’s bolt pattern and make sure they are compatible. It’s a very standard bolt pattern so the chances are good but I would double check first
Do the f1 or open wheel thrust master ones fit on it?
No idea haha
It’s SOOOOO BIGGG 😏😏
How do you take the top off
I cant
Wheel settings?
Where did you bought that wheel pls answer
getnrg.com
And look for the sim spec steering wheel
Is this process reversible?
Yup, just gotta screw everything back together
@@MamiyaMotors thanks man!
what’s ur setup for the wheel like
Like settings for the wheel? Or like where things are positioned and how things are connected?
is that the 1.5" or the 1" dish model?
I think it’s the 1.5”
Is It possible to do on a t80?
No idea sorry
tossing screws on carpet, cutting in and out of vid no desk or workbench or at leawst a piece of cardboard or anything, worn out "wrists on fire" after a few hexes....I really hope no one follows this example, just find a different vid.
Where'd u get the converter
Link in bio!
Is there any space for the horn button ?
Not really tbh, the back of the wheel sits very flush and up against the hub so the hub prob won’t seat far enough in
@@MamiyaMotors Shoots, that’s unfortunate. Would probably look at getting a horn delete button then
Yeah that would prob look pretty clean. The one I got printed became a little loose after a little while so don’t expect it to be perfect haha
does this work with tx leather?
Not too sure
this wheel already gets overheated with the stock wheel
and u put a heavier aftermarket wheel on it lol.
plus your forcefeedback will be very weak AF after this mod.
- Dont do this mod, it might look pretty but i REALLY would not recommend it..
My wheel has not overheated yet.
The NRG sim wheel is actually lighter than the stock wheel for the tmx.
and yeah force feedback is lighter but it’s a lot smoother now
Lewis Nancy Williams Michelle Davis Robert
Is it the same with a t150?
Not sure. I don’t have that wheel
How is your adapter in 8 months? Still good?
Well actually, after a couple weeks of using it started getting a little loose and had a little play where it would slot into the tmx base. I upgraded to a much better adapter haha
if you are still looking for one, i just ordered an action race works adapter that’s made out of aluminum and will let you know how it turns out
how is it@@colin1732
Can this be done with the t80 too
did you ever figure out
@@theonlydash Yes, its a bitch to do tho. You can take the wheel off and either 3d print or buy a adapter that fits the T80 wheel base(which is easy bc its the same for most thrustmaster wheels). however the stupid base requires the original wheel to be plugged into the circut board, so you can either make a nice connection, or just cut a whole through the cover and use it like that. but yes it can be done, just some DIY required.
@@bih8293 what’s ur ig
How did this hold up. Are you still using it?
I’m actually not using the 3d printed one anymore. I am using a proto type quick release hub from NRG for the TMX.
My review on the 3d printed one:
It became kinda loose on the hub after like a week of driving with it. And my FFB settings are pretty default to what the wheel came with originally. So it could just be a bad one from the batch but it’s a OK option for on the budget or temporary use
@@MamiyaMotors but the tmx base is holding up fine? I have a 3-d printer so I can experiment with different hubs.
Yeah the base is fine! I was worried the bigger wheel diameter would put more added stress on the base but so far nothing has broken or anything!
Does it work exactly so with a 150t?
I’m not entirely sure as to what you are referring to with “150t”
Ahh lol idk why I didn’t process that haha. But idk if it will work for sure
@@MamiyaMotors t150
Does any nrg wheel work
Yes it should. Assuming that all of the wheels have the same bolt pattern. But I’m pretty sure they do
Damn!!! Do you play in the bathroom?!
hahaha nah I use a walk in closet because I dont have any other space in my apartment
Will this work for Xbox too??
Uhhhh prob, but you will lose all controls on the buttons on the wheel. So a lot of people will keep it connected still and just have the wheel mounted close by so they can still access the controls
I think the tmx is for Xbox
I believe the tmx will work for Xbox but it’s also able to use on PC as well
Bro said its so big too many times
Hell yea dude
nice waste of money lol.
why even bother with this kids wheel
Because I am not rich boy lol
What a toxic ass comment
@@MamiyaMotors its only toxic if your stupid and cant take criticism..
Just buy a T300 second hand, its better then bothering with this toy wheel..
Do you always talk to everyone like this? Haha and not everyone needs a higher spec. Yea it would be nice, but I since this is working for me right now and I don’t really drive too much anyway.
I wonder how many fights you get into on social media because of how you voice your opinions lol
@@MamiyaMotors i repair thrustmaster wheels lol.. T150/TMX/TX/T300/TS PC/T500
do what u want with your wheel. thnx for the work you bring me.
but you say it yourself u dont use it allot..
if you dont like how i communicate then theres probably some safespace out there for you. facts dont care about your feelings.
Does the ffb feels the same?
It’s definitely a little weaker in terms of overall strength of the wheel motor. But it does add a lot of smoothness to the feel because of the increased diameter size. Takes a little time to get used to but I like how it feels
Can you swap it with a f1 wheel?
As long as you have the adapter to adapt onto the tmx base then you should be able to. But if you’re talking about like a full f1 style sim wheel with all the buttons and stuff then probbbb not
@@MamiyaMotors my paddle shifter broke that might be a problem
