i never paid any attention to steve in the 80s. after watching many many vids with him i've gotten to really like him. great player. humble. insightful. cool dude.
My favorite acoustic string set now. I enjoy the tonal balance and physical feel on my Guild, Martin, and Yamaha instruments of different sizes and materials.
I've been loyal to D'addario for bass and electric, but never found an acoustic equivalent. I have tried about a dozen brands, and these are the best acoustic strings ever!
Steve Stevens is the Man! Great review with back to back banner J -45 s". I will try these on my J-35, still seeking the the right strings to match the lightly braced round shoulder dreadnought.
Great playing Steve a wonderful demo for the strings. I have the same guitar. I I do feel these strings will brighten it up. Are you playing 11s or 12s
Very lively sounding. The original Phophors are nice too, but these have an extra bit of sparkle and clarity. Just tried a pack of Ernie Ball Earthwoods - regular phosphor, and I'm pretty impressed, definitely have more clarity and overtones than the strings I was using previously.
My all-time favorite set of strings for acoustic. Really hard to find one at where I live to get these pack and play fingerstyle. They comepletely balance ❤
@@badmonkey91 Probably not.... probably something in that drawer that gets put on besides his underwear and socks. Aluminum bronze strings are good for dark sounding guitars.... Mahogany/ cedar'if you're looking for a brighter sound. Louder and better string to string definition. Also good for finger-picking on any guitar.
That guy could make a first act sound good! I really like those strings on my Takamine spruce /mahogany. Did nothing for my taylor 714 spruce over rosewood.
0713mas I not sure which strings by Ernie, maybe Earthwood Phos Bronze. But, that guitar sounds great with Elixir Phos Bronze Lts. Enjoy playing each one. Taks are great.
i have tried this string but this is the worst string i've ever heard in my guitar very dull & mud i bought 3 sets did not try the other 2 sets...wasting my money
I tried them,! Put them on my vintage Martin guitar and played them for about 2 min. The worst sounding strings I’ve ever heard. Also, they have a darker color which I didn’t like. They feel terrible and the tension was so different it made my guitar buzz. Threw back on Daddario EXP and it sung like a bird. That is my experience. Never been a fan of EB. They just don’t jive with my ear and fingers.
Steve is amazing...great personality...great musician an great choice of strings

Great honest demo of the strings. The A - B comparison is really compelling
Steve is the man! One of my favorite guitarist hands down
Man, I love Steve Stevens. Damn good player and seems like a nice guy
My favorite acoustic string set now. I enjoy the tonal balance and physical feel on my Guild, Martin, and Yamaha instruments of different sizes and materials.
Great review Steve. I can really hear the difference. String tone is so subjective most of the time so it’s nice to actually hear it.
my fav dude, for a combo of playing and personality.
Wow, sounds amazing!!!
Proper comparison. I love those strings.
He's such an underrated guitarist, and a totally humble dude.
Yes. Very impressed with the interviews he has done. His personality comes through even in this advertising video.
I've been loyal to D'addario for bass and electric, but never found an acoustic equivalent. I have tried about a dozen brands, and these are the best acoustic strings ever!
Love D'Addario strings but the acoustic strings aren't so great

Hey... I put black nail polish on and I can't come close to his playing! His flamenco blazing is illegal!
Thought you used fingers only for Flamenco? He's doing a kind of Lester Flatt meets Estaban style. Sounds damn nice though.
Great strings. I have them on all my acoustics. ;-)

His playing is awesome
I'm sold too!
Yep...I liked the aluminum bronze better. Especially since I play a slim body acoustic/electric.
Amazing I am Now a Fan !
What a great guy
Strings are a subjective thing. Where he may prefer a bright string, I can't stand bright strings. Different strokes for different folks.
They seem louder than the phosphorus bronze as well
How much did they pay you :D These will be great on a Mahagony guitar if they do what they say they will. Martin D18
I bought a set but they are in my string drawer. I think I'll like them when they finally get put on a guitar.
did you ever put them on?

Rose wood is kinda dull and heavy.

(A 4 40 tuning) is the g string / third-string woven?
I came here for the aluminium strings and he sold me on the phosphor bronze. 🙃
OMG! WHO DOES NOT LIKE IT??
This guy has never knew was so diverse as i listened to idol in 80s
..... What?
Can someone please Help clarify exactly what model guitar this is?? I see Gibson but that's all
Gibson J45
Both sound are useful, but his is a strong comparison. I like the phosphor sound better, but we all need two guitars anyway.
He has cool hair
and the guitar is???
What gauge is he using?
Phosphor is brighter and has more clarity. He likes them better, just was paid to promote the new ones lol
Grande Steve.
dull.. thats what bronze strings sounds after you play them after a few weeks.
i heard the difference
Too bright for my liking, but,
Too each, their own,,, :)
What a cool wig you've got there. >
Nice guitar skills you've got there.... NOT!
i have tried this string but this is the worst string i've ever heard in my guitar very dull & mud i bought 3 sets did not try the other 2 sets...wasting my money
