- Here's my tribute to the mighty and devastating heat-ray sound created by Joe Partridge on Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds. Special thanks to Phil Sheill for laying down a very nice bass line on this track. Fuzzed guitars are recorded using Effectrode 'Mercury' vacuum tube fuzz and 'Tube Drive' pedals.

This sound totally blew my mind as a kid! Thank you so much for recreating it so accurately! I'm glad I know it's actually possible :-)
You're welcome David - It's not as difficult as you might think, just time consuming.

It's the only hope we have... Somewhere in the spirit of Man
FUZZING FAAAAAATTTTT, YeAh!!!
omg
what are the settings for the fuzz and eq, etc, I had a look on ur site but I couldn't find anything on how to recreate this sound.
Everything was pretty much maxed out, then a noise gate applied on the DAW - there was a lot of noise with all that gain.
