After coming back to this video and read a lot of comments, I can say without a doubt that most people don't know how nature works, and probably are kids
People get today told by Twitter and Instagram how nature should work in a romanticized fashion, until they simply see it for real. The world has become a strange place, close to Idiocracy.
Yep , there is also an internet outraged at dog owners who crop their dogs ears or snip their tails but they are the same ones who get their dogs neutered, which actually is shown to trigger depression in dogs. Blatant hypocrisy and they can’t realize it.
well, idiocracy isn't close anymore, it's already here. pretty soon the dems will authorize the use of Gatorade to water crops and force public places to install a third gender neutral bathroom. 🤦
I love how you people get mad that the person didn't help the duckling, but it's life is just as valuable as that cow that went into your Big Mac. It has just the same capacity for pain and suffering as that duckling, and trust me, they have much worse lives than that duckling did. Even then, that heron might have been starving. That's how nature works: it weeds out the ones least fit to survive, and since the duckling was stupid enough to stray from the group, it died. Starvation is a much worse death than how that duckling died. He's right not to disturb it.
Oh please, that little duck doesn't know what real fear is. Back in the Cretaceous period, its ancestors had to deal with monsters just like that heron, but scaled up to the size of _giraffes_.
It's amazing and sad to me how many people derogatory comments about the heron for simply doing what a heron HAS TO DO to survive and live another day.
It's not cruel. It's nature. This is the tragedy of the cameraman; he can't interfere because it's the heron's food. To save the duckling is to disrupt the course of the natural cycle of food. As cruel as it is to simply do nothing, it would be equally cruel to rob the heron of its food.
not really nature because if you take all the ducklin and set them on a island the heron will find some other food source. just like human adapt from being hunter gatherers to farmers its call adaptation

Ok image waking up one morning as a baby and something bigger than you eats you! I agree it’s nature, but with your argument I had to say that one just dosent fit. Your trying to view the world as the predator
It's fascinating how much we humanize everything. A duckling is no different than a frog, my friends. There is no such thing as right and wrong when it comes to survival.
@@pocketdirt338 I'm glad a good number of people like you are saying this lol. I love great blue herons and bald eagles will prey on them too which is quite rare but I don't get butthurt because it's a natural occurrence. For those people who says "Stop recording and save the duckling", shut up, you're not a hero. Besides, the duckling wouldn't give a damn about you anyway.
It was also gonna die no matter what. The Duckling will be in lots of pain with really severe injuries especially to its neck if you manage to save it, meaning it was gonna die from its injuries very soon. Even if you managed to rush it to a wildlife center, they would just euthanize it cuz the damage would be too severe to treat. Better to just let the Heron have it's meal instead of going to the trouble of saving a duckling that was already dead basically.
Love how it just played with its food, flinging it here and there, dipping it in the water like a chicken nugget into bbq sauce or honey mustard, and then just scarfs it down.
People are somehow judging an animal's morals for killing a cute and defenseless baby duck because apparently being a predator is somehow worse when you're not a "popular" animal like a cat or an eagle.

The birds and animals don't think or feel as humans do. The heron was just doing what comes naturally when it's hungry,it finds something to eat, in this case , a duckling

Its definitely sad for the duckling, but this happens all the time. Heck look at us? We purposely breed ducks and chickens, knowing before they're even birthed, that they will be eaten by man.
