Bula Vinaka and Thanks, Jeremy! you may have not imagined how helpful your video has been. I have used it to teach young students or neighbours how to write an expository essay on various occasion. Now Chat Bing has been helpful indeed in writing the essay according to the structure and labelling it so students can easily follow and practice. Thank you so much from Fiji
Hey sarah hj, thanks for your comment! This is an overview for a 4th grade level informative essay in which the expectation for an introduction is to simply introduce the topic clearly. Usually we use thesis statements that list reasons for opinion writing. I do agree that the introduction could be clearer, and plan on updating this with a new set of videos soon.
thank you so much i had an exam today and you know whats funny it was the same topic and i got a 100 on it and all grades are do to day because of report cards, and now i have an a in that class thank you so much!!!!! it helped me a lot

He looks like one of the English professors who taught a English practice classes at Kaplan University. His examples was were simple and easy to understand. I like how he went back and fort from his thesis statement to his outline, to organize and structure his paper. I think I might his technique what copying and pasting Main Idea into my papers instead of rewriting it all over again.
I would say that depends on the prompt. If you have a personal anecdote that helps prove a main idea it seems like that'd be a great thing to include. On the other hand, if you are writing in response to reading an article and the prompt is asking you to explain what you read, then you wouldn't use any personal anecdotes or "I".
But my lea teacher said that even if it is such a prompt, u have to try your best and not use personal narrative words. I got points off of a lot of my essays for using such words.
Hey Jeremy, I really like your considerate and helpful manner. Thank you for giving such a great example for me to emulate. I think your instruction is clear and well paced for your audience and I think your tips on writing transitions and formatting are just right for Grade 4s. However, you have not provided a clear example of expository writing. You have blended persuasive and descriptive writing. Expository writing should not be concerned with "proving." While supporting statements with details is important, those details should not be anecdotal or personal. Expository writing should merely report facts that have been established by others. It should not be an opinion piece. Students need to research to write expository pieces. Keep on keepin' on! Cheers
I thought you could only write one full page of 26 lines. How would you suggest shrinking down the size of info? This helped me so much by the way thanks!
Hello. I got a question. Now I'm confused because I thought that we don't have to put "I", "we", "me" and "my" in an essay. Can you explain it to me? Please..😦

Hello, the definition about Expository Essay is not to include any personal feelings, but your example is talking self-opinion?
Great video 👍
