  • We occasionally need to do some upkeep on the parts currently removed from the locomotive, the main drivers are one example of a large project that needs some attention from time to time.

My special needs son is glad you are restoring 4070 to operation he remembers seeing 4070 in I Love Toy Trains #6 and he recommends FMW Solutions for help in restoring 4070 because steam locomotive restoration is one of their specialities.

Hey "Chooch". LOOK, I'm NOT your adversary here...just somebody who's trying to get the thing back on the road again. It looks like I've hit a 'RAW" nerve with ya'll and I get it, but by showing marginal updates here on RUclips "ain't" cutting it and I "feel" for you as it's a huge undertaking and money rules right? Obviously, you have NO money and donations are non-existent to date so, (again), wouldn't some second party be interested in purchasing the locomotive so as to "bring her back to life" realistically? I understand if it were me, I'd probably feel the same way and hang onto it as long as I could, but to quote an old Creedence Clearwater song 'back in the '70's called "Fortunate Son" seems to come to mind. If such is the case, God bless ya'll and hope things work out for ya'll. P.S. Say "hey" to "Choo".

First off, I’m not a member of this society. So don’t say “y’all”. I actually follow their restoration updates. Again, you don’t understand. The more donations made, the more updates we’ll see, and the sooner 4070 will be back under steam. You think your destructive criticism helps, but it clearly doesn’t. That’s just not cool of you to put their hard work down, just because it’s not going your way. If you would’ve kept your opinions to yourself, I wouldn’t be arguing with you. Just STOP being so negative. I want to see this engine run again and you’re trying to prevent that dream from coming true. That’s really messed up. Think about the opportunities the young generation can have to see and experience a piece of the golden age of railroading. Steam is worth preserving, no matter the costs.

I'll hold my thoughts. Tell us when something "NEW" happens instead of the "cosmetic" stuff. God bless ya'll and I'd hate to be in your shoes. You have a "dead" rusting piece of shit locomotive with ZERO fundage. and outside of donating, (which is impossible for me), what can I do to help? (P.S. I'm a 70 year old "poor" guy), whose been a GTW Steam guy since I was born back in the early '50's.

1Chuck96. I would suggest that if you are really interested in the 4070 restoration, that you offer words of encouragement rather than denigrating the efforts of the volunteers who are doing their best to do a good job.

@1chuck96 if you said you’ll hold your thoughts, you should’ve kept them to yourself. That’s pretty messed up to say bad things about the 4070, when volunteers are working so hard to get her back under steam. Also, this restoration moves at the speed of donations. Please be helpful to this group and stop talking crap, jerk.

@@chooch1764 What have I said that's so bad? Obviously, you're in your 20-30's as I'd love nothing more than to see 4070 run again and I'm guessing the foundations volunteers are "sitting-on-their-hands" with little to do...and with little money to do it. Yeah, donations are excellent, and I realize the foundation is trying their best, but sometimes things don't necessarily work out. This is why I "piss and moan". If I had $2m to split between 4070 and 5632...you'd get an equal half. Don't educate me about donations...as I get it and know what it takes.

@@1chuck96 I’ll have you know that I know what’s actually going on with the restoration, as the volunteers clearly show what they have been doing with the restoration on their social media channels. Calling the locomotive a rusting piece of sh*t is just awful to say. You really need to be careful what you say in life, because that just makes you not look good.
