Just discovered your channel and you are gorgeous! I'm glad to see more youtubers calling out overconsumption. Overconsumption is consuming us. I've long deleted tiktok and IG off my phone due to doom scrolling and the constant push for consumption and it's been so freeing! I've got my history turned off on YT so i get less recommendations on what video i should consume next. These apps are really designed to keep us logged on and constantly buying. Frankly I was tired. I loved this raw and honest video, especially when you touched on looking inwardly for the reason for excessive collections. Where there is excess, there is lack. What lack are we trying to overcompensate for with our excessive purchases? I'm here for no buys and declutters because the line between collector and hoarder can get blurry when we are constantly bombarded with the next best thing to own and we don't truly get use or find joy in what we have. Thank you for this kind of content!❤
@@agents3409 OMG! Yes thank you for all of this! I couldn’t touch on everything I wanted in this video. It would be too long of course, but you hit the nail on the head with this. I do have IG but I literally post and get off. Mostly my scent of the days and RUclips content. Otherwise I stay off of there. You will look up and be on there 8 hours lol. I never got into tik tok and the way it has everyone in a chokehold with the impulse buys, and low attention spans, I never want to. I can’t do it. RUclips is my only true influence. It’s been that way since those early days of the platform. It’s enough for me. I have limited my influences here too. I really enjoy a wide variety of content so much more than what I share here in my channel. Like cooking for example, or home decor, lots of decluttering , and organization. Thank you so much for adding to the conversation. Also for watching the video in its entirety🥰. I absolutely have been making up for something and I know it all to well. I love this because I definitely fell in hard. I have over 100 full size bottle… so many 10 mill… so many samples. Not to mention the oils🤦🏾♀️I must say though I love 95 percent of them all. Let’s not forget about B&BW fragrance mist. I love RUclips. I thought I was going to do hair reviews too. I love your channel. Real video hon. Love this❤. Most people start RUclips for the love of it but eventually it turns into a job and becomes the main source of income hence the “influencing” really start. It moves from honest reviews to slightly honest to paid reviews 🤷🏾♀️. As a consumer of the content we have to keep that in mind.

I was new to Middle Eastern perfumes and found TikTok. I fell for the hype. Once. After that, I started paying attention to that influencer and I realized that like you said, she was all about the money because over half the scents she recommended were trash. I started doing my research and I got back into the store to smell different scents to see what I liked before I bought anything. I've learned to stick with fragrances REVIEWERS versus INFLUENCERS because there is a difference. Also, let me say this. I respect you because you keep it real REGARDLESS. I come to you to learn about what's new, what's not hot, what may be worthy of more research. Keep doing you Beautiful, I'm here for it!❤❤❤

This video is definitely on POINT! I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly. I quickly fell down the rabbit hole! Just like you, I had to check myself and do the work and ask, “Why am I buying ALL these perfumes?” “What is really going on with me, and what void am I trying to fill?” Once I answered that, I was able to slow down on purchasing and SAVE more money because my collection was getting out of control. Sad part is that I only started collecting about a year ago, and I have a smaller collection of less than 100 fragrances, but a lot are niche (quality) fragrances. Thanks for the video! ❤

This is such a good video. It is most needed. Something else to think of is not every fragrance in a person's collection has to be full size. It's alright to have travel size or anything between a travel and under an ounce. It become so easy to get influened to buy only full bottles.

Nothing but straight facts from the beginning to the end of this video! I found myself going to down a rabbit hole, until I had to get back to reality. Every mist, perfume, oil etc that comes out or a sale I don’t need to buy it, but focusing on what I currently have and appreciate it. You can easily find yourself using more of your credit cards, opening up new cards and too many buy now pay later open. There’s only 5 or 6 people I’m subscribed to and you’re 1 of them. I pay attention to “realness”. Soon as I see “commission” is involved when reviewing products or PR I can feel the xtra-ness in the review. So glad you spoke of this too. It took me awhile to subscribe to the 6 RUclipsr’s until I felt a sense of realness and everything wasn’t about commission/PR and not afraid to say you don’t like something. It’s not hard to tell, when ykyk. Appreciate this video 😉

Jeremy Fragrance was the best thing for my fragrance journey. I'm so glad I started when he was still on! He promoted the same designer/affordable perfumes over and over, was authentic and had great universal, palatable taste. His top suggestion REMAINS my #1 even years later. And it was a blind buy! Dior Poison Girl EDP.

Yes I really needed to hear this even though I’ve been personally on a budget ever since I started my fragrance journey I love body care so I do have a lot of bath and bodyworks I’m just tapping into the perfume part of it but I do look at and monitor the price tags as well I am a huge budget friendly fragrance lover so I do enjoy a good price tag but my collection have grown immensely because I shop the sales of course but I will be going on a no buy and shopping my collection of what I have I’m not really that big on perfumes but I love me a good perfume oil so yea I will be taking all your tips and info in and shopping my stash for the rest of the year maybe into next year as well too just do that I can start really saving my funds!!!

For whatever reason this came across my timeline. Many good points were made in this video. I just want to add that something that helps is to keep inventory, know how long certain products last and compile lists of what you want and keep a tally of how much that costs…it helps you to keep focused. Also in addition to that set a budget of what you’re able to spend each month to try to limit overspending.

I soulfully agree with you about buying a lot of cheap fragrances to makeup for the OG fragrance! I see a lot of RUclipsrs that constantly buy backups after backups just to get the best dupe for the OG! I have done it myself with PDM Valaya and Bond no 9 Greenwich village! I tend to buy from Dua more than usual bc of the longevity and 90% of the time their blend is either the same or better! HOWEVER, I do buy perfume oils bc i can push a dupe or I can wear it alone and still smell amazing!
I work 12hr shifts at a warehouse so all my fragrances I wear except about 5 are work scents bc I love to layer (REAL BAD 🤣)

To try and find ways to use up certain scents. Specifically the ones I didn’t love. Then it just became second nature to later everything! I need to start using more of my perfume oils also. We all have to be more conscious of our spending in these times 😘

Fragrance makes me happy, but I definitely have went too far . So I’m trying to stop. As far as makeup. I am a minimalist with that I like a natural makeup look which you can achieve with concealer. I barely ever wear foundation but got over 20 bottles of it . And for what ? So I’m trying to not by anymore perfume and makeup products only when I run out of something I wear a lot

This is really good content. We learn these things through living, but it's helpful to hear this to develop balance and discernment. Scent like anything, is so personal. A while back I started buying travel sizes because I thought I've wasted my money on full sizes. But in truth, I've wasted my money on travel sizes lol. But there are companies now offering decants, which is awesome.
