Thanks Paul and Alex for taking the time to share with us all. This was an excellent video and Paul your questions and interviewing skills are really great now. I learn a lot from these videos and Alex you are very generous to share your knowledge. Thanks again to you both.
I bought 3 mango trees and 1 avocado tree from Alex earlier this year. He was extremely helpful thru emails and had my purchase shipped. Found Tropical Acres from this RUclips page. Very happy with their service.

Very interesting information of all kinds of mangoes that I never heard before. I am interested of buying some like Carla you've mentioned and other varieties.
I'd love to see a video of Alex or another expert prepping, digging out and transplanting mature mango trees. I'd like to grow trees on my house lot to sell, which seems to be what Alex is doing in his back yard. I saw the video that Chris at Truly Tropical did, but it would be great to also see the same tree 6 months to a year later. Thanks for all the informative vids!
Please tell Alex thank you. I recieved my 1 gallon Orange Essence Mango tree in perfect condition. My first mango tree zone 9b🤞🥭 Thanks for sharing subscribed
I'm taking notes! Great details. Paul, if you get to edit videos, my suggestion would be to superimpose the names of the mangos varieties, if it makes any sense. Tropical Acres Farm website has a recommended extensive description mango variety library.
The videos with Alex are amazing, so much useful info. There are already any videos about pruning: formation, removing limbs in a bad position in mature trees and so on?
Hey Paul I just wanna say that I really enjoy your videos. From your yard to your neighbors yard to those fantastic visits to the fruit tree farms and groves, I ❤ it. I planted several trees in my yard including my jackfruit tree that keeps making flowers but fruits keep falling off. I have no way of sending you a pic of the tree and fruits, I’m in The City of Atlantis, I know you have some healthy fruitful jackfruit trees. Hoping you can tell me what’s happening with mine. Keep up the great work.
Great video. I grew up in Kerala, India where Alphonso, Neelam and Preyoor were my favs.so glad to hear Guava is preyoor! Paul, could you please do a video on foliar program with Alex?
Normally we prune back the canopy a sizable amount and try to preserve as much of the roots as we can, but with good planning they can be root pruned ahead of time to avoid transplant shock
Only if provided protection during winter, or possibly grown in containers and brought indoors during freezing weather. There are people doing this in Georgia actually.
Hi Gary Rose presentation was good… you didn’t discuss pruning… also… do you have “a top 5, must have” fragrant roses? I have been successful grafting roses… cheers, John
i keep hearing several mentions of transplanting mango trees. can you possibly have a video of experts talk about the transplanting process if not also including a live transplanting of such tree. because i heard its easy to kill some trees with transplants. thanks
I have a problem with Managoes have had fruit then we moved now when flowers come they go back burnt branches the same I have used spray for fly I have used bicarbonate spray what can I do any ideas please HELPAustralia
No coconut cream mangos? Lol …I have cotton candy, coconut cream, Valencia pride, and Glenn. All are 2-3 years in the ground. Cotton candy is the only one with fruit on the tree. I live by Clearwater and I keep seeing that it’s an August ripening tree but in south Florida. So I’m wondering if mine will ripen in September lol.
I was really surprised to see so many trees of the same variety. Is that to sell at the farm, rather than personal consumption? I mean, how many Pickering or Angie mangos could one person eat?
We forgot to show two other varieties: Phoenix on dwarfing stock and a Seacrest/Triplesec. There’s also a Fairchild #2 canistel. In total the yard has 17 different kinds of mangos in it currently. Yes those Pickering and Angie were planted temporarily for that purpose along with for budwood. The temporary spaces need to produce quickly to make the most efficient use of the space which is one of the reason those varieties were chosen given their natural precocity.
It means that the tree is planted with the intention of removing it after a period of time (usually 5 to 6 years) to maximize use of space and increase yield on the square footage of yard space being utilized. Once the trees have grown into one another, the temporary trees are extracted to make appropriate space for the permanent trees.
Good observation. Unlike the other varieties in the yard now, Sweet Tart tends to flower inconsistently in our location. We do plan to add a Cecilove which has very similar flavor to Sweet Tart, but much more Dwarf and precocious.
Sweet Tart does not flower consistently here. Orange Sherbet was planted instead of Lemon Meringue. Angie is extremely similar to Carrie but a better performing tree. Florigon and Glenn are good performers but not high enough among my personal favorite mangos for flavor to justify occupying limited space.
@@JulianoGSF it’s a very good mango but has been an inconsistent producer for us. We only have one tree though so limited sample size. If you have limited space You’re probably better off growing Angie or Juliette if you enjoy Ugly Betty’s flavor because they’re more likely to perform well
Paul, we just went to tropical acres last Saturday and we are disappointed with the fruit varieties options for locals we ordered online that we pick up. I got the idea they give the reject mangoes to locals and you can not buy the premium mango in their stand such as orange sherbet, coconut cream, pineapple pleasure, Pina colada. So I suggest don't waste your time going the place. The price is still the same with other mango farm $6/ lb. I prefer going to mango place farm , truly tropical you tube. They sell premium variety mango with same price except the coconut cream
Thanks Paul and Alex for taking the time to share with us all. This was an excellent video and Paul your questions and interviewing skills are really great now. I learn a lot from these videos and Alex you are very generous to share your knowledge. Thanks again to you both.

Neelum- late season, productive, disease resistant
Honey Kiss- small tree (usually), classic flavor, steady producer, disease resistant

Cac- a fav., usually vigorous, indochinese flavor
Cotton Candy- Aug ripens, vigorous
M4- always good producer, fav, late season
Guava- disease resistant
White Pirie- not producing this year
He wants to plant a Ceci Love
great recap. Thank you
Actually USDA Himsagar. I got to taste it last summer. Very nice flavor--rich and sweet in classic group as Alex has described it.
Thanks
Also, can't we just go ahead and use the name "Cat Chu," instead of "Cac," which means penis in Vietnamese slang?
@@johnbanach3875 we’ve had people visiting Vietnam tell us they are NOT the same mango

Hey Alex, that hat doesn't give you justice for your overall good looks! Get one that'll enhance it. 😊
Thank you for the flattering comment . The hat and other protective clothing in other videos are there to protect from UV exposure
Haha I'm sure it's for the sun protection !😂 cancer is real be careful❤
Please do a video on different dwarf varieties for people with very limited space. Best varieties on flavor and easy to grow. 👏
Great video. Thanks. Enjoyed watching.

Thank you. How much do you water every other day? I have a sprinkler system
It’s currently about 7 gallons of water per tree
i wonder how does he move plants that several years old already in the ground without damaging the roots
Normally we prune back the canopy a sizable amount and try to preserve as much of the roots as we can, but with good planning they can be root pruned ahead of time to avoid transplant shock
the Damm high wind took down about 120 of my Edward mango.
Incredible. Approximately how far apart has he planted them? Also Approximately how tall are they too?
16 ft with a temp 8ft in the middle of them

The air seems so hazy and foggy through the lense, is it due to the high humidity?
