I'm mainly saying this from hunting in RDR2 but I would recommend Blitz aims for the head for a quicker death but I'm not a hunter IRL so it might not be the best tactic.

I played this game as soon as it came out today and ich actually got a level 5 whitetail in one of the first missions of the game where you have to hunt either a mule deer or a whitetail then I stumbled across the level 5 whitetail and obviously mounted it after I got it

You know the environment looks exactly like the place I live in called Oregon. The forest is a little damp and pretty dense on the coast. But this environment looks exactly what it looks like up in the sister mountains. Or the Blue mountains. Which I live right next to.😜🤣✌️

Rule of thumb: broad side shots aren't actually good. You'll just end up going the shoulder bones.
Front or angles from the back front legs are more ideal.
