Ok, funny story. When I started this I called some acquaintances with little kids and asked if they wanted to do a Quiet Book Club where we'd make a page every Tuesday (which is.... insane, and I basically wound up making all 4 books over the course of the next year). But I was like, "This'll be so great! We can do a camping page and a dress-up page and a matching page!" and one of them said, "Oh, cute! So you're making this for your niece who was just born?" and I was like, "😳😳...... Yyesss......." ;'D It had literally not occurred to me to make this for a child in my life; I just wanted to make it. ;'D So I'm with ya!

I've seen it on pillows and book covers and stuff. It turns out it's really difficult to sew with, because the sequins break the needles and you also wind up sewing sequins down. But you can buy pre-made pillows or things with it for about the same cost as making it yourself, anyway. Anyhoo... thank you again for being so sweet and complimentary. You're the best!

I'm on the fence about starting this project for my 3 and 2 year olds. I can see it is very detailed and I'm sure time consuming. How long did it take for you to put it together? Also how much do you think you spent? Did you have any sewing abilities before taking on this project?
Well, you are smarter than I am, because I thought the old classic "That looks easy and inexpensive!" before starting on a yearlong and very expensive project. ;'D To be fair, I started a "quiet book club" with 3 friends and wound up basically making all 4 of our quiet books. I spent a good $300 total. Although the cost would be less for one book, a lot of things can only be purchased in a larger quantity. For example, I wanted jewels on the crown, and you can't just buy 4 jewel stickers, you have to buy a whole sheet of them. I wanted magnets and washers for the matching page, but you can't just buy 6 magnets, you have to order a package. Etc. I will give you some advice I wish I'd known, though. 1- The "abstract" pages take a lot less time and effort than the "scene" pages. For example, the matching page and lift-a-flap pages were 10x faster than the camping page or airplane pages. Literally 10x faster. If I made another one, they would all be abstract. 2- Toddlers destroyed my earlier versions. I learned that it's a good idea to use 2 layers sewn together for any movable parts. I wound up cutting out 2 pieces, (often I'd iron some stiff interfacing on one piece), and then sewing the 2 pieces together. That sort of "baby-proofed" them. It does take longer, though. 3- If you want stiff felt, you can use interfacing to stiffen up regular felt. You don't have to buy a package of stiff felt in each color. (That was a big needless expense) 4- Although it adds to the cost, printing your pattern on freezer paper and ironing it on to the felt will save your sanity. :) Trying to staple or pin pieces is so annoying. 5- They make velcro that only sticks to itself and not to felt. My friend used regular velcro and her kids really trashed that page. And the surrounding pages, actually. 5- This seems obvious, but remember to add an inch on the side for binding. I didn't do that on my first few designs. That was probably just WAY more information than you wanted to know! I think the first tip is the most helpful, though. You could power through a lot of abstract pages a lot faster. Good luck!!!

If you'd like to pay rent for your property, you should discuss methods with the landlord in case issues arise with the main method. Rent can also be paid online, with a credit card, debit card, eCheck or even cash. In fact, online banking and bill paying are considered safer than paying by check. But what do I know, I'm still young, living at home with my family. I hope you get it figured out though! I looked most of this up, so please forgive me if there is incorrect information.

@@jennhoff03 yep, we got a huge age gap (13) so I'm a teen and able to make stuff and he's young enough to enjoy it~ I usually make stuff from the show he watch (paw patrol, gabbys dollhouse) from painted cardboard, popsicle sticks and he loves it ^^

Ppl always mocked me like I was an old lady for making crafts in my 20s. But crafts are an awesome creative outlet and they make the most thoughtful gifts, imo.
