Umesh Aggarwal has been producing and directing television shows and documentary films for over twenty years. His films have been screened and awarded at various national and international film festivals. Brokering News, his film on paid news, also for PSBT, was awarded the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism.
Rajiv Mehrotra is the founding Managing Trustee and Commissioning Editor of PSBT - his films have won more than 300 awards worldwide, including 32 in 31 years from the President of India. PSBT was a not-for-profit that nurtured and supported the production of independent documentary films by a diversity of filmmakers from across India. Over two decades, it produced close to 700 documentary films, each film averaging two film festival selections and every second film an award. I never liked the conventional Tutti, dholak indian film music and my ears and heart was open for new sort of music all the time and then comes the Roja and A.R Rahman just fill the bill perfectly. Felt in love with his music within first min of listening Roja. The guys made me buy my first ever cassette(Roja) from my own pocket money. And then list of buying album goes on and on. I have to buy every single new album e.g Bombay, Rangeela, Delhi-6 and even Chor chor(Maybe no one heard about that). It was essential for me to listen every upcoming single album.
As a Pakistani, if one day someone will ask me to barter one person from india to Pakitan, I will ask for Mr Allah-Rakha Rahman without hesitation. Love you Rahman!

Watching it second time. This documentary traveled with AR Rahman. He saw and experienced orchestra abroad and he want same quality in India that too from Indians. So he started a school and begin grooming kids to make orchestra in a decade. What a beautiful dream. What a legend!

Honestly I'm not bollywood fan, I very rarely watch bollywood movies...I do love those 80s and 90s movies but haven't know that all those 90s famous songs was made by AR. Huge respect!

There is more about him that not being shared in this documentary. Rahman is like a treasure, the more you explore the more you get.

"Jai ho" is my least favorite song of AR. Sorry its my personal opinion. If "Jai ho" deserves an Oscar award, AR should awarded for 25+ Oscar for his other beautiful creations. Any way he got an (delayed) Oscar.
(I can give Oscar for his first movie "Roja" itself, but unfortunately its not made by a foreigner)

Bombay, Dil Se, and Lagaan deserved an oscar not only for their songs but their background score as well. what a breathtaking BGM.

Glad, i watched it. I grew up along with his music, Fondly and Dearly. He changed the face of music from his very first movie called ROJA. A haunting album. I must say that there are few people who would bear the torch for larger good. He is one of them, i believe.
