How Theo Von rose to the Top

- Theo Von is one of the most recognizable podcasters in the world. He is probably best known for his podcasts This Past Weekend and The Fighter and the Kid, but Theo also hosted some lesser known podcasts like Allegedly with Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss and The Comedy Sideshow. Most people these days think of Theo Von as a hilarious stand up comedian, but did you know that Theo got his start in reality television? Theo starred on MTV’s Road Rules way back in the year 2000 before going on to participate in four seasons of MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge (also known as “The Challenge”). He also starred in reality tv shows on other networks such as Comedy Central’s Reality Bites Back and Bravo’s Battle of the Network Reality Stars.
Theo Von’s personality and humor always stood out on any of his reality tv appearances, so it’s no surprise that he went on to host a hidden camera game show on TBS called Deal With It. He also hosted a Yahoo internet show titled Primetime in No Time. All the while, Theo Von consistently honed his craft in stand up comedy at comedy clubs throughout the country, which has led to various television stand up credits as well as two Netflix specials.
Although it may seem like Theo Von’s success came out of nowhere, that really couldn’t be further from the truth. Theo Von has had a long career in television and stand up comedy spanning over 20 years. Theo frequently appears on the Joe Rogan Experience, and his own podcast, This Past Weekend with Theo Von, steadily charts in the top 10 comedy podcasts on iTunes and Spotify.

Do you run other channels too? Your insanely high production quality seems weird for a channel with only a few videos 🤔 so many questions 🤣
I had a short-lived channel 6-7 years ago, but my vids back then had very little editing. More recently I was doing a podcast where I would overlay the audio on top of gameplay footage, and I experimented with some highly edited let's play and commentary videos as well. That's where I got most of my practice prior to this channel. But I'm mostly just learning as I go.

halfway through making the video I realized I forgot to put TKATS in my script, but then I figured most of Theo's fans don't like Brendan Schaub anyway plus I'm lazy so oh well.

@@iandecent Yeah but I've never watched his podcast. It's just funny to compare Theo to the other people you have covered like Nick mullen, different level of quality. Like comparing Kirkland cola to like Pepsi.
well nobody is going to look entertaining if you compare them to Nick Mullen, but Theo's not too bad imo. He has an interesting mix of guests from lil Boosie to just regular people with regular jobs, so I can respect that he tries out some things that other's won't.
