Yes, Big Ears has form in this respect. Many years ago, back in the seventies, there was a proposal that he should visit a large Community Centre in my home town. This was one of the 'Settlements' established by Victorian and Edwardian benefactors in poorer district of London as charitable institutions, but by the mid-seventies they were being transformed into 'Social Action Centres' with an emphasis on Self Help and Community Action rather than paternalistic distributors of alms, much to the disgust of some in the establishment. Big Ears' aides made enquiries and approached the Warden (Director) of a large Settlement in South London, who indicated that he would be more than happy to show the Prince around, explain the work undertaken by the organisation, and introduce him to staff and volunteers in the various projects they supported. However, it was made plain that although everyone would be polite and courteous, neither the Warden, or his family (who lived on the premises), or the staff would be expected to show grovelling deference or to engage in the bowing and scraping that is often expected. The proposed visit was swiftly dropped, apparently because Big Ears cannot be expected to talk to people as if they were equals and only engages with those who treat him with the obsequious, kow-towing 'respect' that he thinks he deserves.

There's a story about him expecting boiled eggs immediately on his return from a hunt. They had to estimate his return and so many eggs would go to waste if he was late. I agree, this kind of self importance isn't unique to the royals. My partner regularly shoos me out of the way through gritted teeth or gestures at things instead of asking me, and it's just because he thinks he's better than me and it's a lack of respect. So while this is disappointing from Charles, it's not the end of the world and I'm pretty sure everyone has a self important man in their family who needs taking down a peg. I just can't see anyone in the royal family having the moxie to do that to Charles, especially now that he's king.
I agree with you Paul but this is probably the wrong place to have that kind of opinion, NM and the people that support them are no longer capable of a real 'debate', they simply spew their opinion and if you dont agree you are cast out and seen as the lowest of the low. The way they have thrown stones at not just the Royal family but also anybody who says anything positive about them is pretty sick, I have always taken time to try to listen to NM, its presenters and those that support Republicanism but thats just not possible these days and to be honest some of the comments are vile.

@@Thomas-nc9fz i mean fracking has nothing to do with the environment
@@danteshydratshirt2360 Nothing to do with the environment! Do you even know what fracking is? Fracking is a process of natural gas extraction where water sand, acid and chemicals are injected at high pressure into shale rock, allowing trapped gas to flow out through the well.
Not only does natural gas itself have a whole range of environmental problems but the actual process itself is extremely damaging to the environment and human health.
it can cause earth tremors, methane migration, the chemicals used are carcinogenic the fracking fluid can pollute groundwater supplies and water ecosystems. There are so many ways it effects the environment and you are not aware of a single one?
@@Thomas-nc9fz he was being sarcastic to emphasise how disastrous fracking is.
@@helenbenjafield7351 Oh right, it's impossible to tell because I've come across people who have not a clue what fracking is
Wow, folks really need to find something constructive to do with their time and their overwhelming feelings.
Just like you

This kind of behaviour isn't exclusive to royalty, I have had employers who have behaved like this, it goes with the territory for some of the people who hold positions of power over others..
I would much rather have the continuity of royalty nominally above the politics of the country than risk a head of state Boris, or clone of Trump or Putin.
This country has a 1000 year history good and bad, and the royals are out of place in modern times, but very preferable to the possible alternatives
The way to get a republic would be to debate with those that dont understand or prefer a different path, but they alienate everybody who doesnt agree and that isnt good for their cause in fact has the reverse effect.
I once watched a documentary about Charles and learned that he was so lazy he would summon an aide to retrieve a piece of paper from his waste basket which was only a couple of feet away from where he sat.
I see that live, I thought how pompous , I believe the ink well was a present from William & Harry , a solid silver ink well , can you imagine a present of such fineness I can only dream , this is just another reason why we need a vote in the monarchy, they are just not living in the real world , while they fly on private jets everywhere telling us about climate change , cost of living crisis , the skin on his hands is probably as soft as the day they were born

he demonstrated a very unfriendly attitude towards society. he's just inherited extreme wealth without paying inheritance tax persona non grata.
Most of the inheritance tax goes to the crown! It's paid at 40%,&80% goes to the crown.Time for a change?
Search for him grabbing and pulling Camilla away mid-conversation. The Mail ran it.
Even the whole mechanic during WWII is bullshit. She did a three week motor vehicle maintenance course that ended on the 16th of April 1945. VE Day was the 8th of May 1945. So just three weeks after she finished the course.
One source, a woman who was on the course with her, said that she didn't know what she might do once the course finished, but she thought she might get to do some office work. As it happened, her father didn't think it suitable for her to work in an office and called her back to royal duties.
So there was never any kind of military service. The took photos of her during the course and then invented bullshit stories about her driving ambulances and the rest. Pure propaganda.
on the bright side, at least he was taking a break from being 'in. appropropriate w/ ki.ds.
Move this stuff peasant or you'll be in the tower.
The thing is he is the one who called for the reset like he told them he is not beingtaxed on his inheritance
Yes, according to many reports, his valet runs his bath every morning, places his towels and puts the toothpaste on his brush.
I wonder if he still has a privy stool(btm wiper)?
That's what valets do.
