People have some misunderstanding about Anneliese. She doesn't throw shade at raven. She always says nice things about her.

I kind of agree with Anneliese about Audra McDonald playing in Gypsy. Audra is a lyric soprano, I can’t imagine her playing Mama Rose with full belt. Maybe she’ll surprise us.
I hear she is working on her belt. She made good use of it in her Tony-winning foray through Billie Holiday’s story.
BTW, my 10 year old granddaughter is more mature than JoJo. I pray for Ms Siwa’s growth.
@@VerdantSquare I just looked up Audra’s performances as Billie Holiday and OMIGOODNESS the impersonation is incredible! I’m definitely intrigued as to what Audra’s natural belt sounds like as I’m yet to have found a performance of hers that uses it. I’ve seen a video (well audio) of Audra doing Roses Turn but it was still quite operatic. I do wonder if Audra will stay true to her operatic roots when she plays Mama Rose or if she will go full musical theatre on us. I must admit, seeing her Billie Holiday performance has made me optimistic about her performance in Gypsy x

Kristin and Idina get along. But they just had separate personalities and Idina found Kristin annoying during "Wicked" because she so perky, etc. They're over it years later.
Is it nepotism though if her parents didn't cast her? Christy's comment was more appropriate -- they cast her for publicity. She's a famous child although not for talent but because of her parents. A lot of times, people get cast just because they're topical, like people who starred in a viral video and then get plugged into an indie comedy to get buzz.

With Anneliese on this one. I love Audra McDonald but I don’t feel her operatic soprano voice is a good fit for Mama Rose. She was in some concert lately. I forget which one but her voice didn’t match what the song called for. She has one of the best voices of this generation, but that doesn’t mean it’s right for a role if that makes any sense.
