Me: This show is so wacky and funny! Such a lighthearted watch! Centaurworld: Sometimes, the journey changes ourselves beyond recognition, and while it may hurt and be scary, it's still you, and your loved ones will always be there for you. Me, through tears: haha the tail talks
THIS. It's like. Smooth. And not rlly show-offy?? But really nice. And like you said, so much rotation!! Like. MAN. "Who is she" they made the horse spin on her back somehow.
The true villian is the purple lady why she didnt even fix cure the king or gave him at least hope she instead locked him for years and calls him monster
as of yet we don't know what happened it might be that she blames herself when maybe she had nothing to do and the nowhere king gaslight her when they say I am like this becouse of you
I have given my friends 3 descriptions of this show. 1. This is as if someone did a synopsis of Over the Garden Wall in glitter pen. 2. Imagine if regular show and Courage the Cowardly Dog took each others notes for study on a group project and made a presentation that same night. 3. A very bad acid trip with gummy bears and alpacas.
@@derive8251 when i first heard the nowhere king song, I started asking questions of who he was and what happened. def didnt expect it. also, Waterbaby and nowhere king are my favorites, with gwen following close.
The Taurnado song is wonderful and haunting. DEEPLY disturbing if you listen to the actual lyrics of it... and I LOVE THE HELL out of it. I just kept replaying it for a whole night.
I pity him he was betrayed you know he was once a centaur he married that purple haired woman than became king this hes like in magnus bride hmm i guess his magic corrupted he teached the purple haired woman the centaur ways of magic their world was once one he was and is still in love he wanted her to kill him and end his suffering but she couldnt even do that mercy he was betrayed and locked between worlds for years the centaur world is his home he left to the human world out of marriage
am i the only one who really likes the nightmare king? yeah, he didn't have a lot of substance, but he gives off the same vibe as the beast and the first lich scenes of "I don't know WHAT the fuck you are and i feel like i would sleep better if that continued." also, BY GOD HIS SONG IS DARK
I loved him, he is just so creepy and I love the character design. Also, I think he'll get more substance as the series progresses. He totally gave me beast vibes as well
I dont quite understand the no substance bit, but the fact the emilia and "it" was connected once already proves that he is more than meets the eye tho.
I totally agree with u I think one of the greatest things about typically kids telivision is how it’s allowed to have Fun goofy, and or enjoyable characters, so that when something traumatic or horrible happens it feels a lot more impactful, than a typically an adult shows that are forced to always be dark and or depressing that u just get numb to it and becomes less interesting to watch And a lot of that can be said about the explosion popularity of super hero films, that used to be just for kids but is also mature enough to be enjoyed by adults
Spoilers for FMA Basically like what happened with Nina and how that episode was pretty light hearted until the end but they still sprinkled a few bread crumbs so that it’s not completely jarring
When you said A LOT MORE impactful, I imagine a minotaur shooting a spear into the viewers heart, the impact throwing them against the ground. As they cough and loose blood, the minotaur takes the heart, throws it on the ground, and crushes it, cutting to wamawink waking up in a sweat. . . So. . Yeah-
Really loved this show, all the songs were bangers for me, especially Taurnado! The episode where they met the fish guy who had dedicated his life to trying to keep people from committing suicide was unexpectedly dark lmao.
Yeah, I personally disagree on the bit concerning the song numbers. yes, the Mysterious Woman's song near the end is the best song in the series just by sheer power and bombast, but there are tonnes more that I loved: Rider's lullaby is sweet and heartwarming every time you hear it, the Nowhere King's lullaby is terrifying, the Taurnado song is haunting and epic, Horse's song at the talent contest goes from a catchy dance number into a hard rock power ballad, even 'Where Does Food Come From?' is oddly soulful! And that song Horse and Rider sing when they reunite is just adorable. but hey, I'm a huge sucker for musicals and concept albums, so this show was made for me. I highly recommend it, and if you wanna give it a try, to get the full experience and really get a feel for it I insist you watch at least the first 3 episodes. It gives you everything: The overall tone, the overarching quest plotline, introduces all the characters.
@@shieldgenerator7 lets be surprised if you watched the last ep the king stared at a pic of a centaur deer him and well a human woman and deer centaur than the key staff he was stopped with he stabbed the Wall with his past hes actually not a deer centaur more but a wendigo like Elias in bride of magnus like horse the world changed him but he got instead locked up between the worlds
My 4yr old wanted to watch this show (it has horses and singing so I was like cool) and I expected to be able to get stuff done around the house. NOPE. BINGED THE ENTIRE SERIES WITH HER. It was so weeeeird but insanely well put together?? Even the Cluptomeniac had a dire purpose and finishing it (twice because I NEEDED TO) left me with SO MANY QUESTIONS. Also fun fact- I do NOT like Steven Universe... But I LOVED this, so it really *does* depend on personal preference here
@@acanimatics906 Honestly, reason I don’t like it is because so many of the redemptions are forced. (−_−;)*Diamonds literally committed genocide and all they get is a slap on the wrist…*
As far as favorite songs the ones I replay the most are "You're Okay" and "Fragile Things", since they use bits of those tracks during some of my favorite moments between Horse and Wammawink.
I must say that my favorites are the lighter songs, "It's Hiding Time", and especially the random and unexpected song of Comfortable Doug. He is so weird, his voice is weird, and yet the song is powerful.
I jumped into this show thinking it was an adults show, and even til the end… I thought it was one. Until I saw that in RUclips any clips of it were COPPA marked. After finding out I thought nobody would make a video about it, since I barely found “funny short clips” of it, pretty common in most shows, I’m glad I was wrong and that you made a video about it.
yeah its only been out a week. i guess it needs a little more time for a fandom to build up around it im going to take this opportunity to plug my latest video: ruclips.net/video/wpCZPggcV1A/видео.html
i went through the same. i first found the show through that promo post on tumblr so i initially thought they were marketing towards older cartoon fans, didn’t consider till after i finished the season that it could be a kid’s show casting a wide net.
I disagree about the soundtrack; there are so many bangers in this show, I’ve had about half the soundtrack on loop since discovering it 4 days ago. The Nowhere King, Comfortable Doug, Nothing Good, and What You Need are the songs on repeat in my head at all times.
See, I clicked on Centaurworld on Netflix thinking *this is either going to be a very adult show or a show for children* because one thing I've learned is that if there's a butt joke on the front cover it's a 50/50 chance of it being for 7 year olds or anyone above 21
i really, genuinely, sincerely hope that centaurworld gets absorbed into the brony fandom and all that entails. itd be cool to see a whole bunch of centaurworld stuff at TrotCon
I have the same opinion on Durpleton. He MIGHT get better if they give him an episode to shine- but so far he only works as the one setting the bar for stupidest to keep the others sounding competent by comparison.
i didnt realize this until my like third watch through, but Durpleton actually is a key component to the story. In episode 2, he convinces the herd to keep their promise to Horse. otherwise they wouldve turned back early to return to the dome. Then in episode 8, he stands in the bay in front of the whaletaur to keep her from leaving so that Wammawink can rescue Horse. He's not always helpful, but he does have his moments
@@shieldgenerator7 Good point, didn't really think about that. I mean, it could have still worked without him, but I don't think any of the others are nice enough to have made that whole point. Ched's being all "Horse is dumb", Zulious's is too into himself, and Glendale's not the kind you want to talk about codes of honor or ethics...
@@shieldgenerator7 I STILL think he could benufit from an episode focusing on him. I think he has the potential to be like Ed from Ed Edd n' Eddy- Ed's about the same level of dumb and random.
The main reason I love this show is it feels like the first mainstream property to actually capture the inherently absurd nonsensical humor you'd find on, like, 3 AM shitposts without it feeling forced or random for randomness' sake, which is exactly my sense of humor.
I watched the whole thing and musicals really aren't my jam but the shear amount of times I said "what the fuck" kept me pretty engaged and laughing. I also had a interesting lore so I hung on for a wild ride.
I kept saying "what the fuck" too while laughing at the same time when watching this show, and the only other time I did that was when I was watching the Midnight Gospel. This show was hilarious and fantastic.
Haha I think I said what the fuck about 200 times ... had no idea what I was getting into and now I'm line why the fuck did I enjoy this so much. I am now very confused about my attraction to horses from episode 7
I absolutely loved it and I feel some of my criticisms of the show would have been avoided had the originally planned 20 episodes been produced instead of just 10. So I hope this gets picked up for a second season, though I'm a bit afraid this particular blend might be too much of a niche appeal even on Netflix
There is gonna be a second season tho (due to statistic already) but also cuz one of the voice actors that they were voicing said that theyll get more character development in the second season and more songs that they will be singing :0
Comfortable Doug is my bop. Partially cuz i recognised Flula instantly and the fact that he just took over the finale with no reason with the longest song in the show.
As weird as it is, I find myself enjoying it even more on rewatch since I have a better grasp of the characters. Glad to see people talking about it. Wammawink is life, the show is riddled with amazing memeable freeze-frames with its great animation, and they did not have go to so hard on some of these songs, _damn!_
Horse, Rider, and Wammawink won me over at how cute they are along with the rest of Colorful Centaurs and The Nowhere King creepy Lullaby just slaps as awesome new Halloween music. I need Season 2, Now!
I watched the whole show over the course of this week and it was a wild ride. I avoided it inicially since I thought it would be too much dumb humor for me but my sister insisted I watch it with her so I gave in. Boi did the dark humor take me by surprise and I absolutely loved it!
I disagree on the Durpleton stance because no show is complete without the I-have-a-different-character-arc-every-episode himbo. ALSO THANK YOU, SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED THE ADULT JOKE THAT BASICALLY CAUSED 90% OF CHED'S TRUST ISSUES
"Who is she?" and "Fragile things" is my two favorite songs and listened many times. I could have done with less far humor. Really felt it was a metaphor in the subtext of a career soldier having to deal with more civvy life. Also how a journey away from friends and loved ones can change you and the fear of being not known by those that haven't seen you over that trip and may not know those changes.
When i first saw this, i thought it was an adult show where it was gonna be like, "Ooh look at us, we look like a kid show but were actually adult with rude humour" so when i figuered out it was a kids show, i was so confused. So i watched it to find out what the deal was, and i loved it. I honestly cant think of anything like it, its great
yeah its weird and wonderful in that way. it does actually deconstruct both of its worlds' tropes: super strong female protagonist, technicolor population, singing cast, and others. its really truly brilliant
4:05 Love that scene. Fresh Orphan Wammawink: Tree shamans, can you bring back my herd? Tree Shamans: That may be what you _want_ but that's not what you _need._ Horse: Oh you can fuck right off with that. Nothing says bonding like friends helping friends kick the shit out of a talking tree.
I loved that scene and that episode in general. For me it showed the difference between high sympathy low empathy vs low sympathy high empathy. Horse has problems telling the emotional state of people around, let alone putting themselves in their shoes, this becomes clearly evident in episode 2 with how she was treating the herd and in this ep when she was pushing Wammawink when anyone could tell that something is wrong with her. However when it is explicitly shown to her what Wammawink is going through she was really compassionate and sympathetic towards her. Her anger towards the Tree Shaman was result of that compassion as she was angry on her behalf, not even caring or even forgetting that she might never get to back home. Compared to that we have Tree Shamans, who understand and know how you are feeling, they give you what you need and understand what you want. But they lacked the compassion and didn't even comfort a poor little orphan girl
I personally was really impressed by the music. The wide range of genres, the spectacular performances from some of the voice actors, I think I'll be listening to Taurnado forever because it just hit me real hard for some reason. not to mention hearing Rider's Lullaby has me tearing up a bit :')
I love the Nowhere King. He's my favorite character here despite his lack of character. He sings to express himself and is a character in some regard and isn't just the personification of bad and not good stuff. Can't wait to see season 2 of this
Do you know why i know why he was once a centaur this and he was in love is in love with the purple haired woman she betrayed and turned him into something like bride of magnus hmm he changed like horse through magic
Or being to long in that other world like horse he was instead in the human world the world once was one so his magic got corrupted he hates how he is now and mourns what he once was and lost
@@kriegermaria9923 I barely understood that but I like your enthusiasm. He is a cool character with backstory with the magic lady and I can't wait to see more of him in the future.
Me, prior to watching the show: "Ehh. I've got nothing better to do, let's see this train wreck..." Me, after watching the show: "It's the most beautiful train wreck I've ever seen. But now I'm never going to be able to explain to anyone why it's beautiful, because that explanation includes the sentence 'I promise the kleptomaniac gazelle lady is important'. How do I tell anyone it's good? How do I let people know that the candy-coated exterior is the most terrifying part? How do I explain that one of my favorite songs in the show was sung by a warhorse and a pink llamataur with separation anxiety? This show has cursed me with esoteric knowledge that I am forbidden from sharing, despite how desperately I want to let the world know what I have learned. Ancient forbidden magic removes my tongue and mind when I attempt to speak of it to the uninitiated, yet are returned to me when I cease. I don't know what to do with this information and I now have the phrase 'Assisted Suicide Whale' in my lexicon and nobody is ever going to learn where the hell it came from. They can never know. Not without diving into the abyss where I have been trapped. My friends don't deserve to be lured into this madness as I have, but the wonders they would see! The joys they would experience! I'm going to go kick a tree until I feel better."
this is one of those shows that i could rewatch infinitely as long as i have someone to drag along for the ride. and i definitely think some of the songs were bangers. quite a few of them literally gave me chills, and every time they brought back the "you're ok" song i almost cried. i really REALLY hope they do a second season. and hey be nice to durpleton, he's never done anything wrong in his life!
What a wild ride! Looking for season two because i fell in love with the characters and the insane creativity. I hate disney singing and musicals, but here it was okay somehow. 🦄❤️
If you ever figure out why you dislike disney and like this, please shot me a reply because I am dying to know how that happened! Do you have any other examples of musical shows you like/dislike/love/hate/tolerate? (Phineas and Ferb, Steven universe, MLP, Wander over yander, Hazbin hotel?) Although of all the musical shows Ive seen, this one feels the most natural (Ironically). They start singing completely unprompted by some unknown outside force. Its all raw. Every song is clearly happening for the characters, between the characters, and you feel like it would be that way weather we as the audience was there or not.
@@serpentmaster1323 I think it’s because with Disney, things tend to get repetitive while with this show, the songs are so diverse and random but they work. You never know what kinda song you’re getting but somehow it still works.
@@weebeegeenov3634 I can see that- Not only does Disney generally stick to the same musical genera and type of emotional energy, the songs also generally hit the same story beats. In a way, there’s no variety. Thanks for your Ideas!
My favorite song/scene is probably the Taurnado, I just thought the whole scene with the song worked so perfectly and the taurnado itself was such a cool concept, this show was so amazingly creative, I loved it!
As someone who loves cartoons in the animation community, looking back, I feel like this show has the potential to serve as a bridge for the divide on the topic of “Cal-Arts being an overused art form,” which has been going on for awhile.
I also enjoyed this, my hope is if there is a season two, we get more character growth for rest of the cast and maybe see more of that other world and what's going on over there.
Loved the show, but the biggest letdown to me was when Horse started changing into one of them. I loved the Juxtaposition of Horse and the rest of the world being so different really made me fall in love with it. So I'm just worried i wont enjoy season 2 a much when it comes around. especially hurt that Horse changed into a Toon during the "Be yourself" song just seemed so Ironic like really.... She was being herself, a Strong Warhorse on a mission and bam... silly toon body now
we’ll have to wait and see how they handle it in season two. i really loved horse’s original design and miss it dearly, but i’m digging her sideplot of learning that she can have more to her than just being a warrior. she can have parts of herself that are squishy and magical without losing her strength or the love of those around her. if they brought her og design back, it’d have to be done really carefully to not backtrack that message.
I was bored last night and saw this show while browsing Netflix looking for something to watch, decided to give the first episode a shot, and then I binged the whole season. Centaurworld is like if one of the nightmares I had as a kid after secretly peeking during the Arc of the Covenant scene in Indiana Jones disguised itself as a Teen Titans Go style show animated by a studio where it's mandatory to take acid for every shift to come back and haunt me, but in the best way possible.
I really enjoyed this show, but I think you have to have a specific taste to enjoy it. The animation and designs are absolutely stellar. I've rarely seen such smooth and expressive animation. The characters a delightfully quirky and flawed in a way that's surprisingly not annoying and genuine. The musical aspect surprised me, but unlike other musical shows like Steven Universe, it felt more like the songs you sing to yourself when doing a task. There are some exceptions but most of the songs lack a distinct melody and it can work to sell the in-universe singing nature, but it also means that few feel like songs you'd actually sit and listen to. Overall, I'd describe the show's tone as an adult cartoon which didn't need to add anything explicit so it was rated TV-Y7. The characters, plot, and a lot of the humour feels like it's designed for an older audience, but they didn't need to add gore, swearing, or sex. It's kind of fascinating. I can see children enjoying this for sure, but the creators probably made it for themselves: adults who like cartoons
I fell in love with this show immediately due to the music and beautiful, and fell even more in love once I learned that not everything in this show is sunshine and rainbows, and in fact has a very dark story behind the facade of glitter and funny creatures. And another thing, The Nowhere King's lullaby is absolutely beautifully haunting. It's been stuck in my head since I first heard it.
Ok i literally had to pause the video before binge watching third entire thing, AND I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Thank you for recommending this show, it’s so wacky and unique, I love it! And the musicals are a lovely touch as well
I feel like this show is what happens when you literally write as many concepts as possible and instead of just choosing one they went “FUCK IT! Do them all!”
Honestly, im in full agreement. This show is a trip and because of how specific all of the stylistic choices are. Both for the art, songs, ect. Your enjoyment is gonna depend on the individual specifically. Because this show doesn't feel like it has a specific audience in the way most other shows do.
So glad to see this getting more attention. I watched it on a whim and this kind of thing is exactly up my alley, and I've already watched it twice now. I agree it's hard to tell who it's for besides people like me though - it's a "kids" show but doesn't feel like one at all Also, at this point I can safely assume anything I see you review is worth at least checking out!
I straight up picked this up because of the cover. Noticed the artstyle difference between horse and the rest and knew it was going to be neat. Not a musical person myself but I respect the art, replayed the taurnado scene repeatedly because that thing was so gloriously animated
I'm a big fan of animation in general, especially smooth and pretty animation, so this show catches my eye. It's a bit brighter and more of an acid trip than I'd generally go for but.. I think I'll give it a shot. I'm also.. unironically a fan of centaur creatures.. Serious ones though. I feel like all of these designs were too cartoony and exaggerated to be my taste. But the normal horse looks amazing! And how can I _not_ give a dark humored show at least one chance. That's my kind of humor.
I started this show at 1am just because the harsh contrast of depressing war setting vs cute childish art style in the trailer caught my eye, but I was hooked after the first episode and binged it through the night. I can’t wait for season 2!
It really bothered me that the whole show was in such a child-like cartoon style and still being as rude to my heart as it was! I didn't expect to cry that much. and Wamawink and Horse are gay. I don't take critic. Have a good day.
Did anyone else think that this show was gonna be some silly 12 forever thing, and then ended up crying, laughing, screaming and falling in love with it? It might just be a me thing (I own a horse who I love more than anything else in the world but who I can never jump again because she has ring bone, so horse and rider's bond hit me right in the heart)
Idk if it's just me and my gay heart but the songs where ladies were signing to each other about how much they care for one another really pulled my heart strings. There aren't a lot, if any, deeply emotional love songs two women sing to one another.
Personally the shows suprised me more way than one! Like from the trailer, I was under the impression that the horse was gonna be stuck in a centuar community. While horse wanted to escape and find a way back home, Llamawink is trying to keep her in with an undertone that it's not "safe" outside the community. Nope, they all left their safe dome in episode one! Also oh man the season 1 ending with that mystery lore dump! I felt like I should of seen it coming but I was not paying attention of that creepy song that was playing (the plant and those cat centuar were singing) throughtout the season! Likewise I don't really like the cast except for Llamawink and Horse due to them having that dymanic and aswell started to cared for each other at the end but I'm all in for the lore now!
Wammawink and horse are definitely the most developed in the cast and watching them argue with their opposing, but both valid, views just gives spice in their relationship and adds more depth for when the two come to a compromise. They are definitely the best part of the show too imo, oh and the lore of course. (tho i oddly also care for the klepto.... idk why)
yeah that lullaby had a suprising amount of actual information in it. i still wonder what exactly it means by "when he sees the light leaving your eyes"
@@shieldgenerator7 iirc light on someones eyes depicts positive emotions, hope, joy, hapinness and the light fading is the removal of those things. One great example i could think of is that one pinkamina episode, as pinkamina sanity grew worsened, the light in her eyes, faded.
"Genocide, suicide, catacide, attachment issues and a whole lot of singing." . . . This one line made me realise that was a PERFECT description for centaurworld. And also, I feel like I was in the same shoes as horse when I saw the human world for the first time in forever.. I forgot how barren it was due to all the fun happy colors.
I honestly didn't expect this show to be so good, didn't even bother to watch the trailers, but there's so much to love, the Taurnado is excellently unique, Nightmare King scratched that horrifying chldren's villain itch, and I just love Glendale.
This is one of those shows, where you watch it on your phone by yourself, and instantly exit it out as soon as anyone approaches. But then continue as soon as they leave. Seen a couple scenes from this, and was interested in the chaoticness of it. This review sorta pushed me that last little bit to watch it, so thanks!
Something I enjoy so much about the music of this show (and forgive me because I don't really know the terminology) is the reprises and use of musical themes. especially "fragile things" and "riders lullaby". they're set up as songs in the first episodes and the melodies and lyrics are repeated so many times in emotional scenes that when Wammawink sang "fragile things (reprise)" in episode 8 it completely broke me. and I didn't cry when horse sang riders lullaby when her and rider met at the end but it did have an impact. also "who is she? (reprise)" is such a beautifully composed mix of throwbacks to other songs and themes with new ones too. can u tell im hyperfixated on this show.
I thought I was going to hate Glendale before I watched the show, the same way I hate Big Nose from Owlhouse despite loving that show, but honestly I loved Glendale's presence, it surprisingly worked and wasn't annoying. Durpleton on the other hand... Yeah, fuck Durpleton, he is one hell of a weak link in such an otherwise strong lineup of main characters. If I had to figure out a way to retool Durpleton I'd suggest on focusing on his kindness. The one time I distinctly remember the character working for me was when he was worried about Horse not getting enough breakfast. He sounded very genuine and I think it his character was about such simple, authentic acts of kindness he'd work really well. And drop the talking farts altogether, it's trying too hard and the exact opposite of funny. (in an otherwise hilarious show)
This is the most hilarious review ever. This show is my favorite and I can’t get enough of the accurate jokes. Anyway Zulius aka Gay Zebra and Durpleton aka Himbo are my favorite character I always find myself repeating the entire soundtrack. Kimiko Glenn is the fucking BEST in this show, man. This show was genuinely a huge surprise and that’s the biggest reason why I love it.
This show is crazy but I knew from the first trailer that I would love the hell out of it and I was right xD I love how ridiculous it is, how you never know what to expect with each episode, and I loved the music though I like some songs more than others, I want to say everyone should go watch it but it won't be everyone's cup of tea just cos of how ridiculous it is
I thought this was going to be an Adventure Time knockoff but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this show. And the animation is spectacular.
I liked this show! When I saw the trailer I said that, for me at least, it would have been either actually bad or surprisingly good. I'm glad I found it to be the latter. As of now it's not my favourite thing and there were things I rolled my eyes at from time to time, but overall, I actually really enjoyed it and I'll be looking forward to season 2! As of now the nowhere king reminds me of the beast from OTGW, but I do believe there's more to him and I'm curious to get to know more about his past! One thing I find to be interesting is how some people that have only seen the trailer assume the world of centaurs is just going be lame and uninteresting, while they say they want to see more of the cool, angsty world where Horse came from, which is like, the mindset Horse herself had before actually getting to know the centaurs. Idk I thought that was kind of funny.
Gonna be honest, I only watched the show cause it had my favorite mythical creature smack dabbed in the title, I was expected to watch the first episode, experience cringe, and go do something else. Instead I stayed up till 1 watching the entire season. I was so surprised and taken aback by how crazy good this series was. My YOUNGER sibling says that cartoons are for children and I’m too old for them, but screw them id watch this 4 more times

The Taurnado song is wonderful and haunting.
DEEPLY disturbing if you listen to the actual lyrics of it... and I LOVE THE HELL out of it. I just kept replaying it for a whole night.
i didnt know you could make a storm scarier until they made it sing
Who ever came out with the Taurnado idea is really impressif. It like one giant tornado with four hole
Even the idea of a taurnado is fucking scary
Taurnado is when this show got me. It's sooo good. It's haunting dark and terrifying
I feel like barely anyone talks about the Taurnado song it's SO good like OH MY GODD,,, it gives me goosebumps it's my favorite
The one song I cant stop repeating in my head is the nowhere king’s lullaby. It’s terrifying
Especially since when you first hear it it's very unexpected - I did an actual double take when I realized what the lyrics were saying
gives me shivers, esp when it all came together in the end and the nowhere king appeared

He totally gave me beast vibes as well
No. Nightmare king is a huge factor in what makes it so interesting; love the nightmare king
I dont quite understand the no substance bit, but the fact the emilia and "it" was connected once already proves that he is more than meets the eye tho.
Brings the big Adventure Time Lich energy.
I play his song in my discord server all the time
I totally agree with u I think one of the greatest things about typically kids telivision is how it’s allowed to have Fun goofy, and or enjoyable characters, so that when something traumatic or horrible happens it feels a lot more impactful, than a typically an adult shows that are forced to always be dark and or depressing that u just get numb to it and becomes less interesting to watch
And a lot of that can be said about the explosion popularity of super hero films, that used to be just for kids but is also mature enough to be enjoyed by adults
Spoilers for FMA
Basically like what happened with Nina and how that episode was pretty light hearted until the end but they still sprinkled a few bread crumbs so that it’s not completely jarring
When you said A LOT MORE impactful, I imagine a minotaur shooting a spear into the viewers heart, the impact throwing them against the ground. As they cough and loose blood, the minotaur takes the heart, throws it on the ground, and crushes it, cutting to wamawink waking up in a sweat. . . So. . Yeah-
IM SO GLAD I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO WENT "yeah they are exes" TO THE ZEBRA AND THE TIGER
Really loved this show, all the songs were bangers for me, especially Taurnado! The episode where they met the fish guy who had dedicated his life to trying to keep people from committing suicide was unexpectedly dark lmao.
fr when i watched the whale episode i was like „wait is this about suicide and depression? damn that’s dark“
Yeah episode 8 should seriously have a warning going in, you can't just mark a show for kids then throw out the assisted suicide angle pff
@@purrpletiger2159 I mean it’s in the rating notes.
It gives you everything: The overall tone, the overarching quest plotline, introduces all the characters.
for sure!

As far as favorite songs the ones I replay the most are "You're Okay" and "Fragile Things", since they use bits of those tracks during some of my favorite moments between Horse and Wammawink.
oh it was my favorite when they revisited those tracks in other songs, like in "What If I Forget Your Face" and "I've Been Searching For You"
Fragile things is so good and so underrated, I love it to bits
I must say that my favorites are the lighter songs, "It's Hiding Time", and especially the random and unexpected song of Comfortable Doug. He is so weird, his voice is weird, and yet the song is powerful.

@@selalewow better dust that house of yours buddy.... The dust is rraching my place already *sniff*

Although of all the musical shows Ive seen, this one feels the most natural (Ironically).

She was being herself, a Strong Warhorse on a mission and bam... silly toon body now
we’ll have to wait and see how they handle it in season two. i really loved horse’s original design and miss it dearly, but i’m digging her sideplot of learning that she can have more to her than just being a warrior. she can have parts of herself that are squishy and magical without losing her strength or the love of those around her. if they brought her og design back, it’d have to be done really carefully to not backtrack that message.
im in love with this show. too many cartoons are not musicals
What if horse awakens a magic it that is the absolute antithesis to the nowhere king’s magic in season 2? An equally powerful but opposite force.
I love how he showed Sans for "Stronger than you" I think the I Undertale versions are more well known than Steven Universes original.
Finally someone's talking about this show
Yessss exactly so many other people are not!!!!

I just binged this and its actually better than i expected.
So glad to see this getting more attention. I watched it on a whim and this kind of thing is exactly up my alley, and I've already watched it twice now. I agree it's hard to tell who it's for besides people like me though - it's a "kids" show but doesn't feel like one at all
Also, at this point I can safely assume anything I see you review is worth at least checking out!
I straight up picked this up because of the cover. Noticed the artstyle difference between horse and the rest and knew it was going to be neat. Not a musical person myself but I respect the art, replayed the taurnado scene repeatedly because that thing was so gloriously animated
never before have i seen a character as universally beloved by all consumers of a media than zebra best boy

Not enough people are talking about the animation. It's so good that it felt. Like a feature film
A lot of music is an understatement. The compilation of all the songs on YT is 52 minutes out of the 3 hours 20 mins run time.
Funfact: In prison, a filled teardrop tattoo means you murdered someone while in there. That brings up some.. implications about glendale.
The way that they animate remembers me of Gooseworxs.
I lost my shit at "SHe loses anyway because of the less talented white guy in the room." 🤣
I honestly didn't expect this show to be so good, didn't even bother to watch the trailers, but there's so much to love, the Taurnado is excellently unique, Nightmare King scratched that horrifying chldren's villain itch, and I just love Glendale.
I have been waiting for this sarcastic summary for a while! Worth it!
Just binged the show and this was right up my alley.
Would you disagree with me if I said that Centaurworld reminds me of Adventure Time?
Anyway Zulius aka Gay Zebra and Durpleton aka Himbo are my favorite character
I always find myself repeating the entire soundtrack. Kimiko Glenn is the fucking BEST in this show, man.
This show was genuinely a huge surprise and that’s the biggest reason why I love it.
This show is crazy but I knew from the first trailer that I would love the hell out of it and I was right xD I love how ridiculous it is, how you never know what to expect with each episode, and I loved the music though I like some songs more than others, I want to say everyone should go watch it but it won't be everyone's cup of tea just cos of how ridiculous it is
The nowhere king is personally my favorite. I did not expect a villain that scary out of a show with rainbows and fart jokes
I thought this was going to be an Adventure Time knockoff but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this show. And the animation is spectacular.
Ngl,
The Tiger Daddy makes me think of the political youtuber/streamer Vaush and I can’t unsee it
A Vaushtaur, if you will.
The ominous lullaby hooked me for the serious stuff to come.
