In Wycliffe's book "sing it first" he mentions this technique and in Watrous' "trombonisms" it's called computer speak. :) basically you use your tongue to make a "wee ooo" noise. You can try first without your horn by experimenting with the arch of your tongue while blowing a controlled air stream through it-you should be able to produce a "wee ooo wee ooo" noise with the air. Wycliffe uses it here around the low f, ab and bb. hopefully that makes sense. :) His book dives into it more and it's worth a read- wycliffegordon.com/product/sing-it-first/
Sorry, can't readily find the book. When I do, I'll have to get back to you guys. My best advice is to listen to and analyze the sound, then experiment with trying to play it, arching your tongue to produce a hissing air stream while going "wee ooo wee ooo".

That's amazing! Where can I find your email?
So its like a cut apart multiphonic?
I've got 'sing it first' but can't find any explanation of this technique, perhaps you could post wycliffe's explanation on here? Thanks!

His warm ups are better than my actual playing.
A Happy Lil' Fella iiiiii
I think that's everyone lol
I'm so sad that I can't fart on the trombone like him u gotta have some dank mass to do that
He plays didgeridoo too. If you apply the same mask and mouth positioning in the trombone, you get the fart.

I love how you can totally see his personality though his playing. I mean the techniques in this are jaw dropping as well but ya know whatever
Who are the two fools that have disliked our lord and savior
hahahaaa maybe it's because I stupidly didn't put the phone in landscape and was all giggly
He is good but I would not call him that.

1:06 is borderline religious. All I hear is the righteous tongue of a melodic preacher.
It sounds like he is beat-boxing through the trombone.
He has just done things i never thought possible on a trombone, all for a warm up!
Congratulations master, Mr.Gordon, wonderful performance, show different sounds! 🙏👏👏👏
One of the greats
Good to see him appreciated on the tubes

É tão bom. Tom e expressão incríveis.
Tudo que possa produzir com o trombone, se torna uma obra de arte. Na minha opinião o melhor que já houve.
My boy Wycliffe making that trombone sound like a trumpet in this vid

Nathaniel Johnson I wouldn't doubt if he knows how to play didgeridoo! This sounds so much like it.
He does proficiently play digeridoo actually
So how does one actually produce that sound??
@@DonJae76 read my above comment, I tried my best to answer this question.
1:36 all I hear is 'pew-pew, shut the fuck up, pew-pew-pew, shut the fuck up...'
