If both computers are identical and Windows license is not an OEM version, one solution is to boot up the old computer, connect the M.2 drive via USB port (using an M.2-to-USB converter), copy the source HDD to an external M.2 HDD. After that, connect the M.2 drive to the new computer and boot it up. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly, but it's essential to test it out. Test the NVMe for few days. Make sure everything is ok. Find some software to backup it to an image file so at least you keep one backup before you delete partitions on old SSD and reuse it as data storage.

Excellent.. Thanks.
Thank you.
I did this only I had Samsung drives so using their magician software was super easy and quick the whole thing only took 15 minutes.
What if i only want to move my os to ssd not the whole thing because my ssd is just 200gig. My hdd is 500
You can manually create a new partition on your old HDD, then move all of your data to this partition. Leave only OS and application on C drive. Before starting the disk copy process, you can leave this partition out (don't select it).
the nvme in 1:55 screen is about 6.25x faster cuz 560 mb/s x 6.25 is 3500 mb/s
All these steps. So happy that I dont have to deal with all this, when I have to migrate my Linux system. The tool is comes with all Linux, BSD's and Unix's. And it is simple to use. DD input output. And you are done. New computer? No problemo. Just move the HDD to the new computer and turn it on.
Windows are hard to use....
Linux is great. I am thinking to switch to Linux in the future.
@@WindowsTips101 The only two advantages that Windows have, are MS Office and Games. Anything else, can be done better on Linux or MacOS. 🙂
I switched from Windows to Linux fully in 2016. Before that I had tested and learned Linux from 1995 to 2016. Back in 1995, Linux was only good for file server and mail server. But things changed over the years. I am also unhappy that it was NT and not OS/2 that won it. OS/2 were such a great system for its time.
@@brostenen My God. You make me remember the day I worked with IBM OS/2 Warp, Lotus Smartsuite, Word Pro, Frelance Graphic,.... back in 1995.
@@WindowsTips101 Warp 3.0 was the best. Such a great GUI.
The cloning progress is not moving in my laptop
AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.15.0 is not Free
What do I do if the unallocated won’t merge?
I’ll apply the merge, reboot, and then I get a screen saying that windows can’t be found, along w 3 steps to possibly fix it but it didn’t work. It just reboots my old storage again
Thhx bro
Only Norton ghost is free. Cloning with aomei, acronis, disk genius, easus. Is pay to run. Free to preview
Definitely Norton Ghost was a good program and it's discontinued in 2013. Is it compatible with Windows 10, 11?
Amazing
Thank you.
This method helped however non of my software keys transferred to my new SSD
I purchased software for my computer and the keys didn’t transfer
Is it Microsoft Windows OEM product key?
Some software may use the disk serial number to calculate or produce the serial number or key. Please try to get the product keys from old hard drive and try enter it on the new SSD.
I am afraid that if software use disk serial number to calculate the key then cloning may not help.
@WindowsTips101 Microsoft works fine, however my purchased software including Skylum NEO photo shop, Studio Pro 5, and others did not transfer keys.
another Chinese company beware. I have been doing research on these cloning software companies. I find it weird that almost all of them are China based. Remember there is no law in China for ripping off Americans or any one else in the world for that matter. I did find Reflect X which is a British company but its not free other than a trial version. I am still looking and will post back
Sadly this program is paid now, youll need to find another alternative like disk genius
You only need 1 program to do this: Macrium Reflect Free
Thank you. Is it still free?
I just found that Hasleo alone we can still merge or windows system disk with the unallocated space without the help of partition assistant.
@@WindowsTips101 No it is not free any more
Macrium Reflect is not free anymore either, and current free versions will no longer be supported/updated after June 2024.
Rescuezilla is the tool for the job tho, and altho it doesn't have as nice or modern of a GUI as the others, there's no chance it's features will be removed or locked behind a paywall at any point in the future since it's community based FOSS (free and open source software)... Both free as in 'free beer' but also free as in freedom/privacy-respecting.
Conecta tus 2 discos a una computadora con Linux y utiliza el comando dd.
Thank you for sharing. dd command from Linux is also a good solution.
Please, please, please stop using the surprise Mr. Beast type reaction thumbnails! It is an instant turnoff..
Ok. Thank you.
This WinPE (lots of tools) is new and much better than Hirens, Medicast --> ruclips.net/video/FC17wKbpW0E/видео.html
Story sounds sketchy who has a 100gb ssd and only upgrades to a 250-500gb ID be getting a 2tb at least 😂
the Mini Partion Tool is REALLY FREE 100% and really works better beacuse the other softwares will charge you just to everything and the mini partition tool wizard lets you do everything for FREE!! also,, is it really neccasery to fit everything on the ssd or set it as without resizing!? when doing a fresh install of windows on a new ssd it uses up the whole disk!?😂😂
Didn't work rip
No Free, pay for run ok
Yeah, right!
A piece of piss!! Thx a lot!)
Not free
😁
Pathetic Win111 can't do migration or full OS backup/restore by itself, like OS X, linux, *bsd, literally every other OS from in the last 10 or 50 years.
