Or it's that he doesn't want to get hooked. Have you ever been hooked before? It's not pleasant, especially if the hook has barbs on it
I hope this isn't too drawn out, bare with me... If you kill an enemy in Twilight Princess and IMMEDIATELY sheath your sword, link will do (what my friends nicknamed) the "valiant hero pose". I believe it was originally a victory screen from Smash Bros? He "swooshes" the sword a couple of times in front of him, then spins it behind his back before sliding it into the sheath. Nice! That's not the highlight. I was doing the Hidden Village segment, and after felling a Bulblin, I reflexively sheathed my sword. As Link twirled the sword behind him, it deflected an arrow! So it seems the "valiant hero pose" isn't just an animation, but still has active physics to the sword as it's swung around. I get that testing this might be.... a bit of a chore, so if you don't want to do it, I COMPLETELY understand. But I still wanted to share!
Not sure if you know this. There are rare chus in the game that, if you find them, kill them, put them in your bottle, and drink them, they'll fully heal you and give you double attack power for a while. They're rare and hard to find though. They sparkle on the ground and run away quickly. They can be found around other chus. However, there's a place to farm them in Ordon ranch. If you go to the back of the ranch where the postman is chilling, you can always find one in a grotto nearby. Also, if you drink hot spring water from Kakariko village or Death Mountain, it'll fully heal you. Bomb arrows can one shot redead knights. One more thing. There's a secret room in Hyrule Castle. Not sure if you know about it. It requires Wolf Link to enter it. In there, there's a key you can find that will unlock a treasure room full of goodies right before the final fight.
Did you know that if you look at different pictures or items in the fishing hole, Hena will give you a brief explanation about them? This one is a minor glitch: Did you know that when in a magnet beam, if you use the open item menu during mid flight and remove the iron boots from the item buttons (D-Pad on Wii), you can walk around on the magnet wall without the boots while still having their magnetic effect? I use it every time I get to 'that part' in the Mines...
2:30 The most interesting thing about this cave to me is that it has water, boxes, and jars, which can be thrown into the water. The boxes float, while the jars slowly sink to the bottom.
A much easier spot to try this is on top of the mayor Bo's house. There's a cuckoo on the high ground behind the house which you can use to glide to a cliff south of his house because yes, you can use hawk's to grab cuckoos. How did you play this so much as a kid and never tried this yourself while exploring the game and mechanics? You can get the silver rupee at any point after you've gotten the Master Sword and the ability to transform at will. If you're attempting to do so during the day, the are several spots in the village where you can transform including behind the wall next to the tree you can climb up while bug hunting, in the fairy spring, to the left (or right in Wii version) of the shop that Malo takes over. Don't know why you think Midna won't help you get up there after a certain point unless you kept trying to transform where people could see. Equip your Zora tunic and jump into any of the several pits of lava around Hyrule. Instant 20 hearts/death if you don't have a fairy.
If Midna wouldn't prompt at all on that side of the building where the wall and tree are, it sounds like it's a bug. I see you're playing the Wii version which might have something to do with it. I've not played the Wii version, so there may be some mechanic differences.

You can also catch an Empty Bottle in a certain part of the Fishing Hole (additionally Link can occasionally catch debris like twigs, old tin cans, wheels, the classic discarded old boot which is a common fishing trope, and even small bags of Rupees if your lucky)! 6:07 - You completely ignored the fact it can't be recorded in Link's fish journal cause it is considered a forbidden fish, which also applies to Bomb Fish! Skullfish can also be caught in the Ocean Fishing Hole in Majora's Mask 3DS though you need the Captain's Hat to attract them and unlike TP Era Hyrule they are perfectly legal to catch in MM era Termina!
Maybe Termina is just less stingy with their laws. Or because Skullfish aren't the biggest problem, because they also have Desbreko in Termina. They have some weird and enigmatic fish over there. Like Lord Chapu-Chapu. A fish that's a mini variant of Lord Jabu-Jabu. What?

Something related to Ocarina of Time (apologies for being off-topic) that I forgot till just now is that when you fight Volvagia, if you climb down the wall that surrounds the edge of the center boss arena you avoid all damage from thee entire fight (including the phase where flaming meteors drop from the skies). You need to be hanging on the side but not touch the floor.
Some extra things to add: 1. The hog can destroy towers and the fire pit, if you want to use it to destroy stuff other than barricades. 2. When playing flight by fowl you can use the boomerang on top of the house you jump from to stop the top platform from spinning on the pyramid.
one of my favorite things to do in a randomizer of Twilight Princess is having the bow and bombs when you enter the monkey mini boss fight. once you get him on the ground, one bomb arrow is enough to end the fight. its super handy for randos in my opinion.
8:58 I always felt that Twilight Princess did sword fighting so well. It felt way better and more immersive than skyward sword, even without motion capture. Skyward sword feeling almost lead footed, with the game making you telegraph moves so you do not telegraph moves. Breath of the wild combat feels similar to Twilight Princess, and is so much better for it.
For number 16 and fishing, good chance that it's a hidden reference to Hunter X Hunter and Gons' fight in Heaven Arena where he used a fishing pole to win a fight. Leaning towards a dev sneaking this in.
Funfact: The Only Weapon that can damage Ganondorf in his Human Form is the Master Sword, any other weapon has either no collision or he blocks or dodges them. I managed to shoot my entire quiver full of Arrows in his non existing Heart, he grunts every time, but the Arrows don't deal any damage in form of HP drain at all. (To do this you gotta get him off guard with this Sword pushing Scene and then you can shoot freely at him. Speaking of Collision: While the Ordon Sword has no collision at all against Puppet Zelda, Dark Beast Ganon and Ganondorf, there is one part where the Ordon Sword actually DOES deal damage to Ganondorf: The Horse Battle where Zelda shoots a Light Arrow at him to slow him down, and ONLY in this state he CAN be damaged with the Ordon Sword, it honestly makes sense that Light Arrows weaken him to the point that you don't need the Master Sword to finish him off, Light Arrows are the best Weapon for those who lack the Blade of Evil's Bane Makes me wonder wether it is possible to aim Arrows at him and wether they deal the exact same Damage as they should.
I think you can technically stab him with the Ordon Sword but it shows the Master Sword in him instead. I think you need to switch swords as Link jumps in the air.

Yay Twilight Princess! Even all these years later, still my favorite 3D Zelda game, and while I will probably always like LttP more, simply for nostalgia, it's always fun to see content discussion for TP! Next time I play, I'll have to try and remember to use the Lantern for bug catching! I won't begrudge you liking the Gdorf fight, here; it's good overall, but Tears of the Kingdom just beat home for me, again, how much I want another real Ganon fight! Maybe I'm just a whiny 80s kid, hating change, but after so many clashes wirh a big, sword-wielding Gdorf, I really want a Ganon fight where he's not just a middle step in a bigger fight. Where he uses his magic, and pitchfork, and is a monster, more than a man. No idea how much Echoes will deliver on this, since Zelda doesn't directly fight, that I know of, but one of my biggest appeals from that title is that it's drawing from Link to the Past, and Link Between Worlds, so we'll hopefully focus less on the Gerudo King, and more on the King of Evil Ganon!
OMG, a video about my favourite Zelda game!!!!! Thank you, Sussy Wily 💪😎 Also, I think that Snowpeak Ruins is the only dungeon in the game where you can get hearts only by drinking the soup 🤔🤔
I'm pretty sure that the wolves and ice hockey-puck things drop hearts, and I do believe that there are a few pots and some spots you can dig up to get hearts too.
In old kariko village there is a soft lock on the right building near the back. If you climb up to the second level, there is a grabbable ledge on the right side and if you pull yourself up, you will be stuck in a sliding animation. Plus you can’t even pause the game to save your progress. All you can do is turn off the system and renter the game. I know this is on the Wii, but I don’t know if it is on other systems
tbh in terms of combat and movement TP is the superior choice. the combat literally has the most variety and skill to it, if you'd mix it into TOTK's mechanics it would work really well and be really fun the zora tunic is way more fun than any swimming TOTK and BOTW have period, no argument against it. Horseback actually is also more fun in TP cause there's bosses and enemies to take on while riding, hope the next big zelda does this again fishing also is not a thing in BOTW/TOTK sadly. I feel like the marble game could have been a nice addition to TOTK too but never happened. TP has amazing sound design, sure totk's ambient is nice but doesn't get close to the epicness of TP's soundtrack Also TOTK's lack of bosses is disturbing, not having at least a few upgraded guardians is a huge missed opportunity too. Also here's a fact if you do part 2 Going to Hyrule town as a wolf will have the town folks allert the guards, though these are not really a threat, the guards as portrayed in the chain of events that brings the group of children back to kakariko. However the guards running off isn't just a thing that's fun to watch, no they occasionally also drop items and rupees if you charge up your B attack and release.
10:12 Not just cuccos, but the Iron Boots will weigh down Peahats as well. The last time I fought Argorok I tried this, and yeah, Link will slowly fall right to the ground.
to me I love fighting Argorok with the iron boots because it kind of makes it challenging by the same time fun you can also use it to go pass and under his own fire attack
That's so cool that they did that with the Zora Armor. But it also gives a fire weakness, not just an ice weakness - so I wonder, does it do the same thing with the lava in, say, Goron Mines? You get a similar void-out to the one you get with the icy water, so if they did it with one, surely they did it for the other, right?
Did you know you can become human in Jovani’s house? You have to have wolf Link’s back paws on the dirt where you enter and his front paws on the first lip. Might take a couple of tries but it is definitely possible
The Ordon sword literally can’t hit Ganondorf in the final fight with him. He doesn’t even have hitstun animations from getting slashed, it just fazes through him. If you get him down on the ground by beating him up with the Master Sword, then switch to the Ordon Sword. There won’t be any finish prompt as long as you have the Ordon Sword out. You can finish him as long as you have the Master Sword out, so don’t think this soft locks you.
Twilight Princess' Dark Beast Ganon fight is not a Wolf Link phase. You can wrestle him like he's a goat/Goron while in human form, and then stab the scar instead of biting it. If you want to take more damage, fill your wallet to the brim, wear the magic armor, and stand in front of one of the cannons in Snowpeak Ruins when it goes off. I think it's survivable in the remake, but only because of the bigger wallet.
Here’s some myths: 1. Bombskit balls do twice as much damage to wolf Link. 2. Redeads can’t be killed by arrows. 3. Spinner can brake Chillfoes spears. 4. Zant heads can’t be damaged by anything else but wolf Link and swords, not even bomb arrows or ball an chain.
It’s not a myth but fact. But some of the songs the wolf howls are from Majora’s mask. That basically solidifies who the identity of the hero shade if you catch it.
I am curious about this idea, When Link uses the Ending Blow hidden skill on an enemy, it can miss, with Link struggling to pull the sword out of the ground. And Wolf Link has that skill too, when used on Poes. And I wonder, is it possible for Wolf Link to miss the ending blow? How would that look like?

This one is a minor glitch:
Did you know that when in a magnet beam, if you use the open item menu during mid flight and remove the iron boots from the item buttons (D-Pad on Wii), you can walk around on the magnet wall without the boots while still having their magnetic effect?
Instant 20 hearts/death if you don't have a fairy.
well yeah i knew of it, also i couldnt get up there midna didnt give me the prompt anymore, also gotta try that last one
If Midna wouldn't prompt at all on that side of the building where the wall and tree are, it sounds like it's a bug. I see you're playing the Wii version which might have something to do with it. I've not played the Wii version, so there may be some mechanic differences.
1:33 - Heh, neat! 1:43 - Its a HAWK not an Eagle!
i knew i would mess that up lmao
2:35 - "Fun fact: You can actually catch Skullfish and Bomb Fish with your Fishing Rod though both are classified as illegal fish thus won't be added to Link's fish journal! Also if you are low on Water Bombs, catching a Bomb Fish will increase your number of Water Bombs by one proving Water Bombs and Bomb Fish are one and the same! 4:31 - See told ya it was possible! I still like that you can catch them! You can even fish for them inside the Lakebed Temple (basically anywhere they can be found swimming and there is a place to cast from Link can catch them)!
What?
What kind of a world is Hyrule that you can both plant Bombs and catch them? 😅
hmmm i should try and catch them in mm 3ds
I remember hitting an arrow midair with my own. It was a complete accident, but I was so hyped afterwards 😂
i mean pretty epic
Ayy Twilight Princess videos again finally ! Love the content Dr.W
thank youuuu love youuuu
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it! Please don't take anything he says too seriously!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] 8:01 - "BLASPHEMER!!! HERETIC!!! Every true ZELDA FAN knows FISHING in ZELDA GAMES is awesome and TWILIGHT PRINCESS is great cause you can basically fish anywhere!" 8:07 - "Well at least that is something we can agree upon! Fishing in ZELDA games is all about taking a break and relaxing as even legendary heroes need to take time off for their mental health! I mean think about all the crap the HERO OF TIME & HERO OF TWILIGHT went through, fishing probably helped them relax and enjoy life!" 8:16 - "Ah, yes, Purdy! I personally think he's just jelly toward Link for all the time he gets to spend fishing with Hena! Also if Link rattles his birdcage, Purdy will say PURDY HATE YOU if spoken to so even he reacts to Link's actions! Personally I prefer Link take the high road and leave the bird alone out of respect for Hena!"
The iron boots while flying is brilliant
Something related to Ocarina of Time (apologies for being off-topic) that I forgot till just now is that when you fight Volvagia, if you climb down the wall that surrounds the edge of the center boss arena you avoid all damage from thee entire fight (including the phase where flaming meteors drop from the skies). You need to be hanging on the side but not touch the floor.
Some extra things to add:
1. The hog can destroy towers and the fire pit, if you want to use it to destroy stuff other than barricades.
2. When playing flight by fowl you can use the boomerang on top of the house you jump from to stop the top platform from spinning on the pyramid.

one of my favorite things to do in a randomizer of Twilight Princess is having the bow and bombs when you enter the monkey mini boss fight. once you get him on the ground, one bomb arrow is enough to end the fight. its super handy for randos in my opinion.
wow didnt know that
Ahhh this is crazy - I just beat Twilight Princess a couple weeks ago! Thank you for these videos - they are great.
glad you like em!
The frozen water bit was neat never thought of that
8:58
I always felt that Twilight Princess did sword fighting so well.
It felt way better and more immersive than skyward sword, even without motion capture.
Skyward sword feeling almost lead footed, with the game making you telegraph moves so you do not telegraph moves.
Breath of the wild combat feels similar to Twilight Princess, and is so much better for it.
The exact damage value for the Zora Armor is 10x which is why that water did 10 hearts when you had it on but 1 heart when you did not
For number 16 and fishing, good chance that it's a hidden reference to Hunter X Hunter and Gons' fight in Heaven Arena where he used a fishing pole to win a fight. Leaning towards a dev sneaking this in.
Funfact:
The Only Weapon that can damage Ganondorf in his Human Form is the Master Sword, any other weapon has either no collision or he blocks or dodges them.
I managed to shoot my entire quiver full of Arrows in his non existing Heart, he grunts every time, but the Arrows don't deal any damage in form of HP drain at all. (To do this you gotta get him off guard with this Sword pushing Scene and then you can shoot freely at him.
Speaking of Collision:
While the Ordon Sword has no collision at all against Puppet Zelda, Dark Beast Ganon and Ganondorf, there is one part where the Ordon Sword actually DOES deal damage to Ganondorf:
The Horse Battle where Zelda shoots a Light Arrow at him to slow him down, and ONLY in this state he CAN be damaged with the Ordon Sword, it honestly makes sense that Light Arrows weaken him to the point that you don't need the Master Sword to finish him off, Light Arrows are the best Weapon for those who lack the Blade of Evil's Bane
Makes me wonder wether it is possible to aim Arrows at him and wether they deal the exact same Damage as they should.
The ordon sword can damage the skeleton boss
I think you can technically stab him with the Ordon Sword but it shows the Master Sword in him instead. I think you need to switch swords as Link jumps in the air.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 I think the only boss besides the main three that can be attacked with that sword is the skeleton monster and the spider boss
hmmm might look into this
@@drwily
Better use Z-Targeting while using the bow, this spares a lot of Time and you can simply spam it with ease
Honestly Ganon is probably tricked by the rod because he's thinking "What is he doing? We are fighting. This is foolishness."
and that thought would be his end hahahah
OMG, a video about my favourite Zelda game!!!!! Thank you, Sussy Wily 💪😎
Also, I think that Snowpeak Ruins is the only dungeon in the game where you can get hearts only by drinking the soup 🤔🤔
I'm pretty sure that the wolves and ice hockey-puck things drop hearts, and I do believe that there are a few pots and some spots you can dig up to get hearts too.
nahhh there are other ways, also glad you liked it, i always appreciate how your in the comments offering support
Ya hoo More Zelda myth busting!
I know this is on the Wii, but I don’t know if it is on other systems
tbh in terms of combat and movement TP is the superior choice.
the combat literally has the most variety and skill to it, if you'd mix it into TOTK's mechanics it would work really well and be really fun
the zora tunic is way more fun than any swimming TOTK and BOTW have period, no argument against it.
Horseback actually is also more fun in TP cause there's bosses and enemies to take on while riding, hope the next big zelda does this again
fishing also is not a thing in BOTW/TOTK sadly.
I feel like the marble game could have been a nice addition to TOTK too but never happened.
TP has amazing sound design, sure totk's ambient is nice but doesn't get close to the epicness of TP's soundtrack
Also TOTK's lack of bosses is disturbing, not having at least a few upgraded guardians is a huge missed opportunity too.
Also here's a fact if you do part 2
Going to Hyrule town as a wolf will have the town folks allert the guards, though these are not really a threat, the guards as portrayed in the chain of events that brings the group of children back to kakariko. However the guards running off isn't just a thing that's fun to watch, no they occasionally also drop items and rupees if you charge up your B attack and release.
Try the rolling sword attack on a breakable sign. It's very satisfying.
thats an interesting one!
17:47 while you can use the clawshot you can pick up the arrows off the ground if they miss
screenshotting this, although i will say this video didnt do well so not sure if i will do another
10:12 Not just cuccos, but the Iron Boots will weigh down Peahats as well. The last time I fought Argorok I tried this, and yeah, Link will slowly fall right to the ground.
oehhh sick
to me I love fighting Argorok with the iron boots because it kind of makes it challenging by the same time fun you can also use it to go pass and under his own fire attack
Hey dr willy 🎉
hey :)
@@drwily amazing videos 🎉
If link gets hit with the explosion of a canon in snow peak ruins it’s instant game over! Even if you have 20 full hearts!
Zora armor in lava is insta death even while having fairies.
That's so cool that they did that with the Zora Armor. But it also gives a fire weakness, not just an ice weakness - so I wonder, does it do the same thing with the lava in, say, Goron Mines? You get a similar void-out to the one you get with the icy water, so if they did it with one, surely they did it for the other, right?
i am gonna try this
I remember hearing in a video that the ball and chain can break spiderwebs ?
Here's a myth: you can collect rupees with the hawk. This might be possible in one of the places in ordon village!
screenshot
13:30 what happens for the second dip in the lake? I have to wonder whether that damage was "half of the current hearts" instead of 10 period.
hmmmm good question
Did you know you can become human in Jovani’s house? You have to have wolf Link’s back paws on the dirt where you enter and his front paws on the first lip. Might take a couple of tries but it is definitely possible
screenshotting this
The Ordon sword literally can’t hit Ganondorf in the final fight with him.
I think it's survivable in the remake, but only because of the bigger wallet.
screenshotting these because this sounds bonkers
The gale boomerang can get you to locations early also if you jump in lava in the mines you die even with full 20 hearts
screenshotting this
Here’s some myths:
1. Bombskit balls do twice as much damage to wolf Link.
2. Redeads can’t be killed by arrows.
3. Spinner can brake Chillfoes spears.
4. Zant heads can’t be damaged by anything else but wolf Link and swords, not even bomb arrows or ball an chain.
screenshotting this
Awesome video.
glad you liked it!
Me too.
It’s not a myth but fact. But some of the songs the wolf howls are from Majora’s mask. That basically solidifies who the identity of the hero shade if you catch it.
Wow.. i did not expect so many of these to be true.
yeah it was a good run this video hahahah, not always the case
Rolling with iron boots also damages enemies in Wind Waker
screenshot
Maybe you could try doing myth-busting video on Metroid prime
that would be a bit hard because i know nothing about it and i bet the views wouldnt be great either
How would that look like?
hmmm could try this so i am screenshotting it
13:19 I think lava is an insta kill, even with all the heart containers
@3:16 You can see the dinosaurs (Yoshis head) if you paise the video.
3:35 it looks like an open banana on top of a dog's head
lmao
17:54 the arrows he fails to hit you with can be picked up from the ground
treu true
I enjoyed the red suit cause it looks more knightly but the rupees draining effect ruins it 😒 it would be epic with the face mask of the Zora suit.
the more i stare at the yoshi 1 the more i am convinced, and i only knew about it because of your video
hahahah well glad i showed you something new, but i still dont really see it
@@drwily yeah its one of those things you can stare at hundreds of times and never see it (like the face on the moon in halo3's standoff), i wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't read someone saying they saw it,
eye under dead tree almos center, and cheek bellow they eye, kind of looks like its looking up slightly
The true Chad plays the game with the poverty armor without a single rupee!!!
Fun Fact: It is impossible to beat Twilight Princess without taking damage, as you have to get hit by the Goron guarding the way to Death Mountain, which takes half a heart, and yes, doing so with only half a heart will still Game Over you.
Standing in a fairy fountain will heal you.
bit too well known
using the sword clash you can exit the barriet ring in the final fight although that is probably common knowledge at this point.
heard of it but could still be fun to add
@@drwily i made a video clip of it, but you can also parry oot ganon's sword swings with timed slashes of your own. I really wanted to create a convincing sword fight back in the day
The only Hawk you can hit with your bow is the "Tuah" variant
hahahaha could have expected this
Oh I love twilight princess! (I haven't played since the wii era and never completed it)
ohhh give it another shot, complete it, the game is great
There is one tiny spot in the hidden village which lets you transform between wolf and human.

@@drwily thx
i always thought grabbing cuccoos with the hawk was intentional since you can use it to grab some rupees on an otherwise inaccessible ledge in ordon village when saving up for the slingshot.
also in that smaller fishing hole you see when he talks about grabbing items theres an empty bottle you can grab if you fish there. at first i thought thats what he was talking about when he said you can fish for items.
woooow a bottle can be found there?!
@@drwily yea. I learned about it in a guide I got at a garage sale after buying the game. you don't even need a special hook or rod.
when you fight the boko king the first time can you kill one of his minons then get on there boar . If so can you beat the boko king on the boar?

I miss this game. I've been waiting for an hd remake of wind waker and twilight princess for the switch but unfortunately doesn't look like that'll happen...guess I'll play wind waker on GameCube and twilight princess on Wii
yeah its crazy that they havent rereleased the hd remakes on switch
