You are a MMR... if you're not labeled that as such by the NMRA. Don't know just guessing. You are probably a non-conformist going to the beat of your own drummer? If so that's what give you "drive."
I respect the NMRA for what they do for the hobby and how they help people achieve milestones and acquire modeling skills. It's just that I was never invited to the party . . . lol. It's too late for me anyway. As for the drum-beat and drive, it's a passion to model in miniature, most notably, scenery as a type of art form. Trains are conveniently incidental which offer additional problem solving scenarios, research and more "scale" modelling opportunities. Furthermore, I would have to say operations are last on the list for me even though I know they are important to many and fun for some. Cheers ~ Boomer.
@@boomerdiorama I fully understand. If it was not for the efforts of the NMRA the foundation of this hobby of model railroading would not be at the level of was it is today.
@@154Colin The modelling standards the NMRA promotes are essential for the hobby for sure. But then, there are those who are also intimidated by the "group think" mentality of the club as well. I knew (and know) world class modelers that have forgotten most of what many think they know. Yet they pass through life without a care in the world. They don't care about certificates or degrees. They are gifted but they also work harder than all the rest to hone the craft. It is not automatic like many falsely assume. In fact, they don't care what their peers think about them either. At the end of the day, I like to model and share some of my experiences for the sake of those who love the hobby in their own way as well. Cheers ~ Boomer.
the 45 seams are amazing.. never considered this before.. awesome. BTW..side comment: 120 degree record breaking heat...in Canada.. Wow!!!
I learned all the tricks in the film industry. The heat was brutal. I'm still recovering from it. I think a died a little during the heat wave. Cheers.
I know it's not train related but this was just nutz!
From Sunday, June 27, to Tuesday, June 29, Lytton, British Columbia, broke the all-time Canadian high-temperature record on three straight days. The stretch of record-setting warmth began on Sunday when the town reached 116 F. The record was broken on Monday with a high of 118 F and again on Tuesday with an astonishingly high temperature of 121 F.
. . . and now Lytton is on fire! Full evacuation as well.
Prayers for our neighbors to the north; first heat, then fire. Hope this finds you and yours safe and cooler.
It is cooler now. Fires in B.C. are fierce and early this year though. Signs of the times. Cheers.
I haven't been keeping up but the design and progress are quite impressive.
Yup. She's moving along slowly but steady . . . Cheers.
Hello Boomer. :-) Another great video. Love the woodworking. Absolutely love! trackwork so looking forward that.
Thank You. I love track work as well - It's one of my favorite parts. Also looking forward to it. Cheers.
you do a great job explaining what you are doing looking forward to what is coming thanks, God Bless
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching. Cheers.
happy Canada Day from Germany
Thank my European friend (where my ancestors immigrated from). Cheers.
Beautiful progress.
Thank You Bob! Cheers.
Thank you for this. Even Santa isn't that quick.
No problem Rafael. Thanks for reminding me . . . lol. Cheers ~ Boomer
More great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Will have to try the scarf joints on my layout. Great idea. And it is beautiful out in the Pacific Northwest. Daughter lived in Yelm for a couple of years. Loved the visits.
It is beautiful out here for sure. I love B.C. more than Canada if that makes any sense . . . lol. Cheers.
Looks good. Some great ideas. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome! Cheers.
Glad to see you made it past the heat. I live just outside Salem OR, but I had a room AC, ... stay cool.
Thank You. Unfortunately for some, they didn't make it through. It sure sapped my energy though. Still recovering from it some. Cheers.
Great stuff and in that heat you are getting. Keep on building because it is looking superb. Thank you again. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
That's the plan!
Benchwork looks great! The scarf joint on the backdrop is a great idea. I have all my dad's old Stanley planes, it'll be nice to actually use one someday on my layout. Looking forward to the track plan phase... - Paul
Thank You! Those old Stanley planes are nice. They sure come in handy when you need them. Cheers.
Top quality build, inspiring stuff! 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Coming along nicely.
Despite the stifling heat things are moving forward. Cheers.
Coming a long beautifully Boomer! Just a thought on module C, what about a condensed version of the bridge you were considering modeling a month or so ago? The slice of Glover Road is a nostalgic idea too.
I would love to model that bridge (Mamquam River BCR Bridge). The module needs at least five feet and I would have to alter the track-plan approach, facia, backdrop and frame to accommodate it. I will sit on the idea for awhile. Thanks for brining it up though because it is one of the primary features on my mind for sure. Cheers - Boomer.
Hope you are safe and well Boomer in the face of these terrible wildfires.
Thank You. The heat wave was one of the worst (weather related) experiences for sure. I'm still trying to recover my energy levels to normal. Cheers.
@@boomerdiorama good to hear you and your family are all ok.
@@PeterTillman3 Thank You. Energy coming back now. Cheers.
😊
Cheers! ~ Boomer
