I just bought the Zhiyun 5S AI, haven’t opened it, seeing this returned it , M7 has better weight support, flex with detachable screen, extension, and other nifty ways to capture make this way MORE attractive. Just got your new SmallRig case setup as building out live streaming rig + capture.
Wow!! This is the next generation of Hohem gimbals. I have been using Hohem gimbals for years. Now is the time to upgrade and the price is very reasonable. Thanks for showing us this and Hong Kong.
One thing i wouldve loved for you to do a comparison on is to do an "intentional" orbit with ai tracking on vs "unintentional" orbit with ai tracking on and "intentional" orbit with ai tracking off, to see if there's a difference in the output

Liked it for the compact design, but after watching your video, i think i should have gotten the M7 instead. Looks like i'm returning it. Does your phone case come in a iPhone 15 Pro Max version?? Looking to really up my mobile photography and family vlogs in 2025.

no it doesn't, you can just off set it. There are videos of ppl using external storage or mic receiver. The gimbal also can serve as a powerbank for your phone with included usb-c cable
Have been troubleshooting a NEW m7 right out of the box since Saturday as I explained to Hohem through tech support this was a gift for my wife and it’s defective. It jerks in tilt mode, then flips the camera facing down and gets stuck, all 3 switches are unlocked, tried recalibrating. This was the suggestion by hohem tech. “Please try rotating it up and down for a week to restore it to its initial state.” After him having me send several videos for over an hour he then requires me to do a zoom meeting with another tech for an hour. Seriously??? Any suggestions how to get this thing to work properly?

It’s mostly just maximum weight capacity. Most gimbals I’ve tried are similar in performance when you use the appropriate camera on them

Have then send you a new unit for free. There’s no reason they should make you troubleshoot a defective unit.

I didn’t use the Hohem app at all. The AI camera works independently

Probably will work, weight is not an issue. Phone + SSD just needs to fit in the gimbal’s clamp

500g max paylaod, a 16 pro or a pro max is not a hurdle.

This gimbal’s structure seems similar to Zhiyun’s Crane M3, which could handle mirrorless cameras. Phone + lens is no problem.

You can use any app. The ai camera is separate and doesn’t interact with the phone at all

My biggest issue/question with this gimbal is how to attach a wireless mic receiver to a phone!?
The usb-c mini receivers should be fine, just plug them into the phone and slide it into the gimbal clamp

Pocket 3 has made phone gimbals obsolete. Can’t imagine carrying something this big over the p3 just to wind up with a crappier image. 😂
Pocket 3 is great, but very limited in range of motion. Also no tele lens.
