Girlfriend in a coma wins every time. Had me in hysterics, as so many of them do, but I can't help but laugh every time I think about it. It's the "OH" that kills me 👌👌
Some of the best of the “one song to the tune of another” here. David Mitchell nearly giving himself a hernia; Linda Smith giving it all she’s got and giggling away to herself into the bargain. It’s one show where comedians seem to genuinely enjoy being there.
I’m just waiting for them to get someone to sing the Johnathan King classic “Una Poloma Blanca” to the tune of “I’m just a cider drinker” by the Wurzels
This has made my week - so many glories here, and especially lovely to hear Linda Smith again. I think Jeremy Hardy's unique gifts were better displayed in Pick Up Song.
the old ones are the best, Willi Rushton was the king of one song to the tune of another. The whiter shade of pale song here and the guess the barcode is what got me into ISIHAC!!!
Thanks for uploading this! My absolute favourite One song to the tune of another was when Graeme Garden sang 'Milkshake' by Kelise to 'The Queen's Navy' from HMS Pinafore. If you haven't heard it, do seek it out. It's brilliant.
This round may have its roots in Bill Oddie singing Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside to the tune of A Whiter Shade of Pale on I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again...
My two absolute favourites: Whiter Shade of Pale to the tune of The Muppets - the words fit perfectly! And I Don’t Like Mondays to the tune of I Want To Be Like You. I don’t know who thinks of these, but some are truly inspired! ISIHAC is the funniest show anywhere! Thanks for posting all these.
It really brings home the banality of some of the lyrics! RIP those wonderful previous cast members of the show Willie, Tim, Barry, Jeremy, Linda and of course Humph. who brought us so much joy and merriment especially on long car journeys. On several occasions, I nearly pranged my car I was laughing so much.
Some of these are actually better than the originals. :) I'd also add Willie Rushton's rendition of 'Great Balls of Fire' to the tune of 'The Blue Danube'.
Great collection, but I'm surprised there's no version of "The Marrow Song"! That used to be a popular choice for the teams to sing some years ago. I remember a particularly good version from Barry, singing it to the tune of "There'll Always Be An England" (it fits just as well as "The Laughing Policeman" did, which says something about the versatility of that tune, perhaps!) - from S39E05 in June 2002. From the same episode, Graeme singing "YMCA" to "We'll Gather Lilacs" and Bill Bailey singing "Run Rabbit Run" to "Stormy Weather" were good too. Another favourite of mine was Graeme singing "The Teddy Bear's Picnic" to the tune of "She" (complete with cod-French accent in imitation of Charles Aznavour) from another of the 2002 shows.
He certainly has theWelsh singing gene - Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins, Charlotte Church and the late Harry Secombe to name just a few... there's music in those valleys!
This show was first broadcast April 11th 1972. Emmerdale Farm also started that year in October. Also Last of the summer wine started that year. I was born that year.
Anyone trying to explain what comedy is has the perfect model of why juxtaposing the serious and grandiose with the low brow and trivial is just bloody hilarious . However it all depends entirely on knowing the cultural references .
Has anyone ever done the lyrics to "Amazing Grace" to the tune of the theme from "Gilligan's Island" or vice versa? That one I learned years ago and still remember it.
Just started listening, hope that blame it on the boogie to the tune of the battle hymn of the Republic is here. Also stand by me to the tune of the William tell overture.
I've always doubled up songs much like this when I perform live in hopes of countering the fact that I'm only half as good as whoever else is on the bill. My personal favorite(s) is/are Fleetwood Mac's TUSK combined with ZZ Top's TUSH to form the lovely TUSHK! However, if you'd like to hear the Monkees' Last Train To Clarksville set to the tune of Vince Guaraldi's Peppermint Patti theme, you can hear my band The Peat Fountains doing just that on SoundCloud...
I’m just waiting for them to get someone to sing the Johnathan King classic “Una Poloma Blanca” to the tune of “I’m just a cider drinker” by the Wurzels
I do remember once they had I Am A Cider Drinker to the tune of Ode To Joy, and all the panellists joining in for the "oo arr oo arr ay". It was magnificent!
John Lennon's Imagine sounds way less nihilistic when set to the Muppet Show Theme. Just shows you the power a good tune to pull along mediocre lyrics.
Who knew that Whiter Shade of Pale was so versatile?
Or the Muppet Show theme!
Shades of Bill Bailey...
Girlfriend in a coma wins every time. Had me in hysterics, as so many of them do, but I can't help but laugh every time I think about it. It's the "OH" that kills me 👌👌
Didn't Tim also have to sing "Girlfriend in a Coma" to the tune of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" on one episode?
@@neilcam I do declare, you are right
1:20 Linda singing Psycho Killer is just superb. Colin Sell relentlessly going on at the piano too - brilliant.
RIP Barry Cryer, such a talented gentleman
And the late great Linda Smith
Both sadly missed.
And Jeremy.... what a lovely man
Bazza was the best. But Jeremy was just magic
They were all ruled by that Welsh dude Rob. Can't remember his name. David Mitchell was awesome.
Tony Hawks singing Girlfriend in a Coma to the tune of Tiptoe Through the Tulips. I've haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
I remember hearing it as it went out for the first ever time when driving! I had to stop as i was crying with laughter! Pure genius!
It is brilliant. Rachel Parris was excellent too.
Weird, I could've sworn it was Timbo that did that one....
"Hurt" to the tune of "Singing in the Rain " was unexpectedly heart-wrenching! Well done, Andy Hamilton!
Trent Reznor publicly acknowledged Johnny Cash's version, but I'm not sure I can see him doing the same thing for this
Rachel Parris has a great voice, brilliant. :)
I love both her and Pippa Evans, they are really funny on the rest of the show too.
There's so much to like, it's Linda Smith hands down though, why is hard to explain, she's just a pure joy.
It's a classic
She sounds like shes having a ball

Apparently Clue had been recently voted for as the best comedy show ever broadcast. Not arguing with that... glorious... all of it
Every show was great! And it IS the funniest show of all, radio, telly, whatever - no competition!
Definitely. The funniest radio show ever.
I was at the online recording of the Rachel Parris one, I knew she could sing but that was 💯
Been trying to find the Anarchy in the UK one for ages!! So bloody good, Brydon is a genius
Hard to remember the original tunes after hearing these
This has made my week - so many glories here, and especially lovely to hear Linda Smith again. I think Jeremy Hardy's unique gifts were better displayed in Pick Up Song.
I love how Humph and Jack could get so much extra laughter by just adding "Never mind" 😂
These just never get old. 😂
I remember the Linda Smith one (Psycho Killer), brilliant :D
The one I've been having trouble finding was a brilliant rendition of My Old Man's a Dustman being done to the tune of Heartbreak Hotel
What a fantastic one to finish on. I don't think I'd ever heard it before; sensational stuff. Look to your laurels, Rob Brydon.
Just spent half an hour listening to this. Now dinner's ready.
You hadn't had your tea then.?
I hope you had chicken fried steak; that's tasty chicken cooked to the tune of a nice steak!
Im crying this so friggin funny. Pure genius
the old ones are the best, Willi Rushton was the king of one song to the tune of another. The whiter shade of pale song here and the guess the barcode is what got me into ISIHAC!!!
BRILLIANT. Thank you

Okay, now I need a link, because I cannot find it.
Well done Rory Bremner.
One Song to the Tune of Another is the closest thing I've seen to proof of a benevolent deity
I like to think of it as proof of evolution
@@zapkvr a benevolent deity designing the mechanics of evolution would probably count as One Theory to the Idea of Another
I was holding it together until 11:00, then the supporting vocals cracked me up!
The Rachel Parris one is brilliant though.
So was Caroline Quentin! Very impressed!
She holds a 2:1 in music from Oxford 🙂
Had me in stitches! 🤣
This round may have its roots in Bill Oddie singing Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside to the tune of A Whiter Shade of Pale on I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again...

Miles Jupp I tawt I taw a putty tat is pure genius.
I hope that you have more of these.
My all time favourite has to be Tony Hawks singing Without You by Harry Nilsson to the tune of the Can Can. Superb. 😂
I love I' m sorry I haven't a clue. It's so funny.
Some of these are actually better than the originals. :)
I'd also add Willie Rushton's rendition of 'Great Balls of Fire' to the tune of 'The Blue Danube'.
Indeed. The ones which sound ridiculous are funny, but the best ones are those which sound better than the originals.
Songs for the Quiz
Girlfriend in a coma 3:22
Anarchy in UK 6:34
Don't like Mondays 10:58
Relax 24:33
Dustman 25:49
RIP Tim 😢
love Andy Hamilton’s Hurt, and David Mitchell’s Whiter Shade of Pale, but where where where was Jo Brand doing I kissed a Girl to Old Man River!!
The Hurt cover made me laugh before it even started. Holy crap what an idea.
The cover of a cover that nobody was expecting.
"Nice try Rob" 😂

So now we just need "The Complete Jeremy Hardy"
Oh yes, Jeremy had a divine gift!
Try this : ruclips.net/video/OuZM6ITV22o/видео.html
So much fun, love David mitchels
They're all amazing
I had no idea Bryson sang That well. I knew he sang, but Delilah was way better than I realized.
He certainly has theWelsh singing gene - Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins, Charlotte Church and the late Harry Secombe to name just a few... there's music in those valleys!
Jeremy Harding was the finest singer ever to perform on ISIHAC, he's much missed. I agree that he should have his own entry.
Absolutely, his Bob Dylan voice was hysterically accurate.
My absolute favourite. I was so sad when he died
Hardy. Not Harding
Also, that would be Miles Jupp.
Rachel Parris 👏 👏 👏
This show was first broadcast April 11th 1972. Emmerdale Farm also started that year in October. Also Last of the summer wine started that year. I was born that year.
Leaving myself a reminder for 5:18
Thanks for these uploads. Isihac is like a big bowl of creamy mashed potatoes...
Comfort food for the ears
3:22 Denis King on piano, filling in for Colin Sell.

Who chooses the song/tune combinations? Genius…..
Just started listening, hope that blame it on the boogie to the tune of the battle hymn of the Republic is here. Also stand by me to the tune of the William tell overture.
Got to agree with ‘Blame it on the boogie’. Also ‘Dustman’ to ‘Heartbreak Hotel’.
Anarchy in the UK to Just When I needed you most was actually really pretty! 🤣
Really want a "sing-off" between Rob and Tony
Hurt to the tune of Singing In The Rain! 😂
Been looping this for the past few days and I have no comment except
Ha ha ha ha, ha-ha-ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ho, ho ho ha ha, ha ha ha ha!
(12:35)
22:00 Now sing the tune of House of the Rising Sun with the lyrics of Gilligan's Island

Hurt was by Nine Inch Nails, Johnny Cash covered it
I wish I could find Tony Hawks singing Run Rabbit Run to the tune of The girl from Ipanema.
Some of these should be realised as singles! especially Girlfriend in a coma and Dustman.
For me the best is always when the other panellists and the audience join in :-D ... Like Rob and Delilah
13:28 if there's anyone who speaks Korean I would be very interested to know if this is either accurate, offensive, confusing, or all 3.
Ditto
The best of all time was Jack Dee doing "Purple Haze" to the tune of Brahms' Lullaby
My favourites are psycho killer and the hurt one
Karma Police to the tune of when I'm cleaning windows
I’m just waiting for them to get someone to sing the Johnathan King classic “Una Poloma Blanca” to the tune of “I’m just a cider drinker” by the Wurzels
I do remember once they had I Am A Cider Drinker to the tune of Ode To Joy, and all the panellists joining in for the "oo arr oo arr ay". It was magnificent!
I find it very hard to take Ode to Joy seriously now!!! Gangnam Style works!!!
The power of the dustman lol
Me when I know nearly none of these songs
The Laughing Policeman to the tune of There Will Always Be An England … how prescient?
19:08 Would it have killed you to credit Nine Inch Nails (facepalm)
not you ISIHA Clue, the guys :)
I'm not sure if that rendition of "Hurt" is amusing or even more disturbing...
It's like if Nine Inch Nails had a serious breakdown before going on stage.
i don't like mondays was a good one!
It's so funny...wait..."Hurt" by Johnny Cash? o_O
Is there a compliations of the rules of this, please?
It's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue - there aren't rules really!
@@Knappa22 they are announced in explaination every time its played, hence the interest in seeing the variational explainations of them over the years
Welp, now we know where Bill Bailey gets it from...😂
where's the master of Singing the late great Jeremy Hardy
In a league of his own lol.
Rob Brydon is rather good here & Tim Brooke Taylor shows he has had a good musical education sometime.
Rachel Parris was actually too good for this round.
John Lennon's Imagine sounds way less nihilistic when set to the Muppet Show Theme. Just shows you the power a good tune to pull along mediocre lyrics.
Surely there is one Jeremy Hardy worthy of inclusion?
Not really for us Americans, I'm afraid. Different sense of humor.
Speak for yourself!
This is youtube, not America…
The lords my sheaperd to the old coca cola tune, ide like to teach the world to sing😊
This video definitely needs a Jeremy Hardy honourable mention.
