We Malaysians should really stop endlessly building shopping centres everywhere and start focusing on long term urban renewal.

    • @donde6961
      @donde6961 6 месяцев назад

That’s ridiculous! Urban renewal is disgusting. This is not Neverland, we don’t want the public to be happy and have better quality of life. We just want the public to pay more taxes, and have the same road full of potholes, the same non functioning street lights, the same impractical pedestrian walkway, the same corruption, the same nepotism. Don’t change, maybe just add a hell lot more luxury condos and fancy gigantic malls so that our beloved property developer bastards will be happy forever. No one should hijack the love story between the government and the capitalist satans.

In KL, they are still building malls and office blocks despite a surplus of them dating back to the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997. And our Malaysia Boleh quality can be seen in the The Exchange TRX where during its first week of operations there was shoddy workmanship of the building ranging from cracked tiles and unfinished ceilings to malfunctioned escalators and elevators. On the second day of its opening, it suffered from a power outage in the morning, persisted for hours before the electricity was back to normal. The mall also had to cordon and close off the central water play area at its outdoor playground to work on the repairs due to it being broken.

    1) Competition 2) Location 3) Parking 4) Available stores, many people like to see high-end stores 5) People nowadays like beautiful KL Pavilion like stores. What to do, ensure building still in good condition and still maintain it. Don't allow leakage of water, exposed wirings, intruders, etc. Sell the building at cheap price. Transform to boutique office, college, government buildings or even dwelling units.

This is a collective failure of a company, town planning and local authorities. When sustainability were not given careful considerations by the board members and the approving authorities during project proposal stage. For every failed and abandoned project, there are huge resources wasted (some are not recycleable) and high consequence cost to the society. The invaluable resources (land, material, etc) that otherwise should benefit society for certain lifespans are now wasted and locked in the abandoned projects, costing society a phleora of problems, i.e., health issues, social issues, safety issues, security issues, etc.

Johor citizens will be forever poor. Never care to build affordable houses for them? Instead of all the luxury house apartments units that only Rich outsiders from singapore and china can buy and malaysians forever rent it not being able to ever buy house. Rich get richer. Poor get poorer. Don't know how to digest when people who in a place should care for others dont do this. Can't say more thats in my heart. Just feel sorry for people there

Well said it sounds like there is terrible public planning in Johor. Hopefully they could convert all of that space and infrastructure for something worthwhile eg. Cheaper housing, health facilities, cheaper shop, lots for ordinaryjohorians. In America, they have the opposite problem. The planning and regulations are so strict. It is impossible to get buildings completed on time and they have a lot of homeless.

Don't forget COVID last lockdown, our friends from Singapore cannot come, what happened? So many businesses close shop.
We mutually benefit each other as close neighbour over so many years, cater to what they need and everyone benefit, don't be greedy la.... Slowly success is build, theres no shortcut...
Should do a documentary on condos too, so many, build at night, the units are empty bcos no lights on... Very scary... See, Forest city, whole planet know it failed, malu...... Got so much demand is it? Really? Then why the purchased prices, sold units not publicly available for scrutiny for everyone to see, something not right , right? In Singapore, my friends say you can see the sold prices immediately, everything transparent.... Here, it's developer call,
Don't blow a bubble, then make it bigger and bigger, it'll burst u know. 😅😅😅
People not stupid la, world economy bad too, don't be so optimistic, wake up already la 😅

I am not saying Singapore never makes mistakes maybe they have done a few.
But reading the comments it shows that Singapore thinks and plans ahead in Malaysia things seem to be done out of pride….
They say there are buildings taller than the petronas and yet the 1MDB scandal seems to be a thing of the past that everybody already forgot. I wonder if Jho Low will ever be found and if the culprits would ever go to jail.
It seems justice never gets done in Malaysia.
The Petronas are not even beautiful buildings. I’ve heard the shape has to do with the 5 pillars of Islam which shows religion must be included in everything but what is never included in anything is common sense. Seriously…
I am a westerner by the way and I like Singapore and I like Malaysia but I feel in Malaysia the average citizen is lied constantly and the government is never at fault and never accountable.
At least in Singapore the government’s priority is economic growth and bringing foreign investment in order to diversify the economy. Malaysia is like a dog chasing its own tale. If u ask any Malaysians about the government they just let go a big sigh… I’ve also heard that in Malaysia unless you are a Muslim don’t even try to get into politics because u will never raise above a certain level. The top people will always sgd forever be Muslims. Can they put religion aside and bring in common sense, decency, honesty and accountability to the average common Malaysian citizen? Malaysians don’t even need to look to Europe to see a good government just look across de causeway to Singapore.

Townplanner & authority are bowing down to the developer, ending up the development and facilities didnt suite the needs & demand.. All is about Money!! Not efficiencies and sustainable.

Best world shut its doors due to the building of the new flyover right in front of it, redirecting traffic/making access by traffic extremely difficult. Not to mention the ever reducing number of public buses due to Malaysia's emphasis on personal vehicles only exacerbated the problem.
Please don't change the rhetoric ans blame it on the financial crisis. It was a thriving mall until the new planned roads screwed it up.
Bad planning on either the developer or govt side. That's just what it is....

What happen if easy vehicle license in other country to use in Singapore? The secret about it? About life blocks, cyclists inside vehicles, like changing a believable-engine, underground definitely secretly big? If skudai Parade open, to bypass mischief ruling to able to take license? I think it's common sense, just learning signboards afterwards. If at first a vehicle maker created a vehicle, they themselves don't have license, there's definitely something like prioritizing a kind of mission? Johor looks big like have an open area. The sending of people in/out without passport been real from being a cyclist of a vehicle then + not real names, or only during target's moving in that area. Doesn't this mean target always feel being stalked as place changes depends on what target must view and believe as then?
