Worlds lightest bfs reel!!! You did it!!! Great job guys!!! Haha movie reference jokes aside I love how it casts. Can’t say that about a whole lot of the reel but at the very least it casts amazingly well for feeling like it’s extremely overbraked. Really glad it isn’t though! Thanks for bringing us along and showing what it can do! Cheers mate!
Thanks, I think I will have to do a follow up. Definitely a video on the Turtle...the brakes are weird, you would think it's overbrake but it casts so well...pity the braking on 0 it's on like 2 or something.
@@yep.fishing hey yep! Yea it’s a bit odd but I actually managed to backlash the reel a few times so it’s not overbraked. They are strong but not too strong. I’ve really enjoyed casting it and am making mine a long term tester haha 😆. Cheers mate!
I wonder when the higher brake settings would ever be used. I might test some heavy stuff. I have another rod on the way so might try some open water fishing with heavier soft plastics.
Not a problem at all, I'm mainly throwing a 1/8oz jighead and soft plastic with a snap and I have the brake setting on about 1.5. absolutely no issues casting up to 7, perhaps more but I haven't put it on a heavy enough rod.
Great little video mate. I've had this reel for a month now and I am so impressed with it. It took an hour or so to free up but after that I absolutely love this reel. I got it for $128 AUD for it on 11/11 and that price seems around the mark, wouldn't pay much more for it
Cool, thanks mate. Yes there is a crew that have been into it alot longer than me. There are trout streams in the south east of the country but like myself other like using the tackle of any species really. I assume you're in the US?
@@vin18m definitely, I used to be a Daiwa Dai hard but I'm kinda leaning towards just trying alot of cheap stuff. SS Air TW is tempting. I'm actually a bit keen on the Loongzee reel which is up there in price for a non JDM
Also got this reel. The spool spins very tightly! With a wiggle, the finger makes only a couple of turns and stops. I have a lot of bfs reels and this is the first time I see it.
I think because the brakes are very strong even when you put the brakes on 0 it doesn't spin long with your finger. But it performs very well, it's kind of a mystery
Amazing what the Chinese market has to offer nowadays hey! By the sounds of it they are also quite decent for their prices. It definitely helps people get into the BFS world without having to spend a fortune, which is good. Good job bringing up reviews to help others decide before buying 👌🏼
@yep.ultralight awesome mate. I love bass fishing and recently got hooked on BFS.. moving to Australia soon and wanted to see what fishing is like there. Came across your channel and hooked again. I have the Doviello Soloking Brownie reel as my 1st BFS and its quite good. Gonna check out all your videos!
Yea I'm intending to use it on a longer rod, should cast a bit better than my smaller reels. I'm in Warrnambool, Victoria. My wife's cousins both moved to Bunbury over the last couple of years.
Thanks for watching everyone, this was a bit of a rushed upload, stay tuned for a Bearking Little Turtle/Ninja Turtle Review hopefully by next weekend.
Hello Thanks for a great video, an elite version just came out made of aluminum, 20g heavier, 5kg drag, lue 1-15g, I just ordered one this morning, super excited, cheers, thank you.
I like you never expected a elite version, I just received the air a few days ago, didn’t get to try it out yet, today I looked on AliExpress and notice it was price at about 93.50 usd, but I noticed that there were also 2 more new model sf air elite that cost about 103.00 usd. I just had to ordered one out of curiosity, after all I have 90 days to return if I didn’t like it. Cheers!
The brake system is the same as the kestrel elite which I believe is also the same as the VE2. I can't remember the differences between the VE2 and KE but this is made in the same factory. Make sure you check the tear down on Peter Kim's BFS FISHING channel. Thanks for stopping by
Well there is actually another model they haven't released. In the paperwork the it comes with it describes another version of it. That was a Pinkie Snapper (what we call a juvenile).
not a huge fan of silver but I just got a Mavllos Resolute which is a 6'9 .8-7g rod I believe. its plain black with silver accents, will be my open water rod and the reel looks much nicer on that.
Yea agreed, to be honest unless you really wanted to the price difference doesn't offset the performance increase. Especially at full retail price. Thanks for stopping by. Dropping a Bearking Turtle review in the next day or 2
AHHHHHHHHHH Damn me with my under 50$ rule!!!(also known as anti divorce clause) Still manage to snatch a Soloking Acura Pro, you should have a look, also ordered a pair of hybrid ceramic bearings to upgrade after proper testing the reel.
Haha yea I hear you with that rule... unfortunately this reel breaks that rule. Fwiw I changed to hybrid ceramics in one budget reel and it's actually performing worse I feel. It's like the brakes are just not tuned for the faster bearings

Happy to see purelure getting attention. Their telescopic rods are AMAZING
I have only heard one negative thing about them. One of their rods seems to be rated wrong and is pretty stiff otherwise all quality
@yep.ultralight yeah it's one of their 1 piece rods I believe. Not 100% so don't quote me on it
@@PsychoSynoptic it's a black one with a cork handle, I think it's called "stream". I think the L feels like a M and the casting weight is off
It actually looks good and damn that is lite. Looks like it handled that Snapper with no issues. Nice review and well done!
Thanks, wanted to put more effort into the filming etc but just wasn't good timing. I really wanted to release it this weekend.

Thanks, a bit of a rushed video but I wanted to get it out this weekend. I'm going to review a $35 reel next :)
Looks great!! Must feel comfortable having such a lightweight outfit in hand.
It's so light it feels like a toy, it's hard to feel a quality product that you can hardly feel.
Great video Mate! Subbed
Thanks mate I appreciate it. I have 3 reel and 3 rod reviews on the way so stay tuned!

I don't know why they marketed it silver feather elite, it's not silver or a feather. I really wish it didn't have those orange accents

Soloking acura and silver feather, which one would you recommend sir?
Well Acura because of the big price difference. That's probably the best value for money right now in terms of price verses performance.
119g !!! Wonder whats coming next! Is that a bream or a snapper?

Nice nice that final fish 🐟 had some pull. What rod btw?
Acehawk AG Venom 562, yea It did. I hooked a bigger one the week before that may have struggled on this combo.

Oh there are a bunch of reels around 130 too. Some are pretty cheap aswell.

Hehehe I know!!! I felt sorry for the Flight Feather lovers. I don't think the 117 will be as good though, surely it can't be considering the price.
