I watched 5 videos before this and all skipped the basics and assumed everyone watching already knew how to use a dremel. Thank You for showing us the basics like how to secure the cutting tool onto the device. Gave me piece of mind before using it for the very first time ever.
This video was better than the one from the company. Yeah. I thought I was losing it. How ignorant of the company to not show how the attachments go on.
Thank you so much! I could never have figured this out from the manual (which I did read all the through first, just like you advised). Really appreciate your easy-to-follow instructions and emphasis on safety.
I don't know how to subscribe and am not the best at RUclips but I am trying to complete a bunch of diy stuff at my house and for whatever reason I could not figure my dremel tool out. Your video was the perfect pace!!! I wish I could have afforded to tip more but I did learn how to subscribe and so I did that and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!❤
When I bought a 12 pack of the 456 cutoff wheels they came with a two-piece washer set. I assume that you're supposed to use them. Also, it's easier to tighten the screw when the mandrel is in the collet and the shaft is locked.
I thought there was something wrong. Mine feels like it's missing the thread inside when I try to seat my disk, but only once it's close to being tightened all the way. It refuses to go any further securely unless I take the disk out. Same exact reinforced ones that you're demonstrating.
I can’t unscrew mine! I turn the screw and the whole rod turns. I can’t get any grip on the rod to turn it while holding the screw in place. Any ideas?
Some useful info here and there, but damn does he need to call the dremel by its full name literally every single time he refers to it. Yes it’s the 402 mandrel dremel. We got it the first time. But thanks for the info. 🤟
Appreciate the instructions, but we know that it’s a “Dremel”, and that all the parts are “Dremel” parts. Could probably cut the run time in half if you just don’t repeat the word “Dremel” before every piece and part…
Yes, use the washer. It helps center it, and it gives the screw a little more area to apply pressure to the disc to aid in it not stripping off and even possibly becoming a safety hazzard.

Holy long walk for a short drink of water, Batman.
for real. I watched at 1.75 speed. But helpful!
Thank you! That new collar had me stumped!
Thank God for this video, I was putting string thru the hole on these wheels! What a life saver...
Bro. I literally broke mine trying to figire this out snnsnsnsj
@@ahhhhhh124 same 😂
lol

Starts at 2:02, for anyone that values your time

This video was extremely helpful, thank you so much! Its wild how this extremely important installation information isn't in the manual.

Easy enough, but for some reason my instruction book explained none of this. Thanks!
God bless the internet
Tym new to all this exactly what I needed a good foundation if basics.
Thank you for posting an actually helpful and straightforward video!
Thank you so much!! Was feeling like a total idiot for not being able to figure this out. So helpful!
Wow, thanks for posting this. The best guide that I have found.
Thanks!
Helpful, thank you 🙏

Yeh bro but the mandrel in the chuck and then tighten the screw
@@jenkinz1 You're supposed to use the washers. They keep the disk centered. The shaft of the screw is not as big as the hole in the disk.
Thank you 💯
Awesome, thanks for the help!!! Now I can go cut some diamonds!
Thank you exactly what I was looking for
What if the hole in the cut off disc is too small for the screw?
I just use a tiny wood screw to open the hole up just ever so slightly, and I've had no problems using that method. Hope that helps.
Thanks Todd, regards from N.Z
Hi Ernie, Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
This was really timely! Thank you!
What attachment do you recommend to cut through a metal rod about a half inch thick
Good Job 👍
thanks for the info

Very helpful, thank you!
This really helps…
Ngl I clicked onto the video then I said nope never mind figured it out
Good job!
Thanks for the information.
2:04 there’s a screw there, that’s all I needed to know thx
Skip the first two minutes of babble.
Literally just thinking "bro shut the fuck up"
I can’t unscrew mine! I turn the screw and the whole rod turns. I can’t get any grip on the rod to turn it while holding the screw in place. Any ideas?
I locked mine into the dremel to use it as a grip
I’m experiencing the same problem.
How did you fix it?
Put it in the dremel and use the lock on the dremel. Hope that helps anyone that's needing to know.
Can you cut wood with that wheel
402 mandrel is used for the sanding discs also? not just the hard cut off wheels im talking about the bendy sandpaper like ones
I’ve been installing the grinding wheel upside down all these years 🤦🏻♂️🤣
Wow, you mean you put the mandrel screw through the cutoff wheel and screw it on the mandrel?
For some reason, that flat head screw doesnt come off on mine. When i twist the screw, the entire body twists as well
video starts at 2:05
those tiny screw posts are so badly made that the cutting wheels get stuck and will not come off the cheap posts and the screw head threads! 😏😒
Thanks boss!
thank you good info
Hi Thomas, thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Thank you so much
Thank you for watching!
I cant get the little screw out of the mandrel
Thanks a lot bud
cool video problem is i cant do the first step, the nail wont unscrew
attach it to the dremel first so you have a good grip on it and then unscrew it while it's in the dremel (with the dremel locked)
Thanks for video. But really could have been 20 sec.
can't loosen the screw out of the mandrel.
Me too. Mine doesn't come off

Wait, how does it end, I fell asleep.
Too much unnecessary talks! Could have been shown within 2-3mints. Ppl who knows how to google don’t think they need that much unnecessary info
Couldn't even get the top off the damn screw.
Absolute rocket science. Now, you just turn it to the right to screw it in, right?
Drink every time he says dremel 402 mandrel
It doesn’t fit
You didn’t say you had to pound the thing in there
Appreciate the instructions, but we know that it’s a “Dremel”, and that all the parts are “Dremel” parts. Could probably cut the run time in half if you just don’t repeat the word “Dremel” before every piece and part…
Thanks for the video but that was way too long.
What do you do when the screw won't go in whole way or come out?
Mine doesn't come out as well. It is really frustrating
Do I not use the washer that is on my 402 mandrel???
Yes, use the washer. It helps center it, and it gives the screw a little more area to apply pressure to the disc to aid in it not stripping off and even possibly becoming a safety hazzard.
Very helpful--thanks!!!
