Thanks for great tips, I tried your plain version and it's delicious. I'm on a low oxalate diet and these are the perfect replacement for spinach, I find they have a similar taste plus that crunchy part is the best!
hello koc , the vegetable of a favorite gailan - cooked with steam is my choice with leekumkee oyster sauce. fresh ginger with oil poured over steam is also good. thank you for the two. elle for wok is black
I would like to see both of you in front of screen, as I saw the mirror flection from lid, Kevin is there to cook. Why not to show the world how nice & harmony couple , bring more sense of humor in kind of cooking, again.
Thank you for the feedback! We've been really short of time recently and had to compromise. Filming with both of us on camera takes a lot more time since there is no camera person and we have to do some actions twice to get the coverage needed - this way we were able to continue making videos while doing our other work :) hehe stay tuned though we'll both be back on camera together soon.
Kevin Kevin Kevin, what are we going to do with you? How can u not like ginger? Have ing said that, that is a huge amount of ginger used for a plate of veg, my wallet just skipped a beat. Here in Sydney ginger was selling for $60/kg a month or so ago. Homegrown Gai lan of a the best, great work Carmen. I just wish I wasn’t such a black thumb, I manage to kill plastic plants.
LOL! hmmm no one has figured out what to do with me yet ... parents, family, teachers, wife ... so that's clearly the million dollar question. I'm fine with SOME ginger when you can't taste it. HAHA yeah, that was a big chunk of ginger I don't think we ended up using all of it. Also, not sure why ginger is so damn expensive in Aust. when we went back last time it was already expensive at $30-40/kg ... I guess it's because it's home grown ;) your labour is expensive. Maybe try importing it haha.

So easy and well explained, even a Gweilo like me could do it! Thank you!!
I got 70 pounds of produce for $15 and a bundle of this stuff. Very informative video. Never heard of it and going to try the oyster sauce recipe. 😊

What are you using to peel ginger in this video?
My fave veggie along w/seng hoy bok choy❤️ thx for the tips how to pick fresh bunches
You’re welcome! That’s something I wish I learned earlier too! Better veggies FTW!

ay really good info! thanks!
I bet I could use some of these tips for the bunch of asparagus I was given recently!
You’re right I think they would work well with asparagus too!
I usually get the baby Gai Lan are my supermarket. It's really good!
Me too! Baby ones are great for quick stir fries.
YUMMMMM YESSSSSSSSS PLEASE LOOKS SOOOOOOOO DELISH, THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR RECIPE
good to see u back on youtube I subscribe
I 💜 Ginger (sorry Kevin).
I have made this with pork drippings and it came out well. I have found that pork/bacon dripping can work with most veggies!
Who cares about Kevin? 🤣😜 That sounds gooooood!

What could be a substitute for corn starch? Will normal wheat flour do?
The alternative is tapioca starch. You wouldn’t be able to do it with a flour.
Best substitude for corn starch is Arrow Root powder, can be used exactly as corn starch
Was thinking about mixing up dai lan with some bak choy, in sesame and soy sauce with some noodles....
Looks great!!!
Thanks!! 🙏🏼
Healthy fry veggie sounds delicious. I eat too much bread & flour
haha we eat wayyy to much bread and flour as well!
Good
Love you ❤
Straight forward explaination, thxs
I think I bought some of this today but none of the bags were labeled so I'm not sure.
The beauty of asian supermarkets
@@KindofCooking I was wrong, turned out to be something more similar to bok choy, LOL.

🙏🏻🙏🏻🍀🍀
I just boil it & throw some oyster sauce on it at the end😊
I vote for the ginger version
Carmen: me too
Which do you prefer? Oyster Sauce, Ginger, or something else?
I avoid ginger. I remember when I tried the ginger flavored ice cream for first time, and i did not like the taste. I’m traumatized.
Ginger ice cream?? Haha we did garlic once. Not the way you want to go.
Ginger is my favourite!
ALWAYS add garlic tho. Sometimes some shallots also
I'm with Kevin, I'm not a big ginger guy
👍👍💜💜👍👍💜💜💜
interesting that you didn't add garlic, or soy sauce
Eat 2 , leave only , eat 1 leaves 1

that's a lot of dishes for 1 veggie dish
Good effort, but it's absolutely overcooked by the withered looks of it.
Get to the point already. Didn’t start cooking till half way into 4 minutes. No one wants to hear a lecture on cutting greens
Not a healthy looking gai lan .😮
Its overcooked
Talk way to much
Ginger juice and wine was unnecessary. You just want to make it more complicated than it have to be.
