Thanks Joe for the tour. I'll be doing the same next week. Nice when the wife gets involved with your passion. Hope mine joins me on my excursion to Portland. I dont get to That Rochester area. I liked the NY Dolls poster in that store. Best, Steve
Great vid here..thanx for taking us along....never been up in that area yet.....in a few weeks will be in Missouri,IL,WI....and maybe on my way back Kansas....In Oct. hoping to go to Texas and Louisiana briefly...you make it fun my friend take care and have a great week
Yes, I know about the update.. I have a lot of videos on hold to watch, yours included. Been away for too long, and now with work I have limited spare time and everything is backed up! But I'll certainly be watching it, don't ever worry about that! :)
Hi Joe, Always a pleasure to skim through vinyls with you. Always fun and keep them coming. Looking forward to seeing those finds in the next video. God bless Tino
Wow Joe, I thought for sure you would run into someone from the VC. You always do! That second store was huge. What a cool place. Take me with you next time!!! Take care...
Joe, my wife and I go to that portion of Maine quite often but haven't been to Music Plus. We will definitely be going there the next time and hopefully will find some good stuff….that is unless you've bought it all!! ….:)
hi joe great trip! I love new Hampshire my brother used to live there and we had a vacation home up there when I was a kid. used to go skiing every weekend. the stores you went to looked pretty decent especially the second one. those 45s in the basement were driving me crazy! would love to go through them sometime! hope you picked up some records you found interesting! rob
Thanks for inviting us on your trip Joe! Really enjoyed watching. I have that Decca audition album on vinyl and mine came with a CD too. I think George really shined on that audition. He was on fire! Great to see you back, man. I needed a Joe fix and I got one! :)
Hi Joe. Wow, that second store was amazing. Looks like you got a few nice things (that is, if you kept the ones I saw you picking up here): the Diana Ross one, the Decca Beatles. I had to laugh when I heard your partner say 'I'll just be in the store across the road', which is exactly what my partner says when we walk together into a record store. By the way, I have the exact same Beatle T-shirt that you're wearing in this video. Cheers, James
James Griffiths - I didn't buy everything I picked up, actually. My girlfriend did actually spend some time in the stores with me, but there was a great antique shop nearby which she said was amazing. I regret that there wasn't enough time for me to browse there as well that day because I might have found some memorabilia.
From what I understand the Shea film will be the complete concert including the lost songs that were not included in the original 1966 broadcast. No word on whether they are going to be using the original audio for the show as The Beatles overdubbed new vocals onto some of the tracks in early 1966. The original film also flies in the "Hollywood Bowl" soundtrack for "Twist And Shout" and overdubs the studio version of "Act Naturally" over the live performance. My hope is that we at least get a Blu-Ray release of the complete concert. As an aside it amazes me how many record shops stock the same damn Beatles records. Sometimes I think there is this one guy who goes all around with the same records selling them to each record stall he finds!
jldraw -- True, it's always the same deal with the Beatles records.. which is why I have to hope for at least one odd one (such as I found here). Or at least some kind of upgraded shrink wrapped LP with a hype sticker. Regarding the upcoming live film, I'm pretty pissed that it's going to be very limited in its theatrical release. So far I only know of one theater in NYC playing it on just one Thursday night, which is a work day.
I enjoy seeing Connie Francis ....my first time I heard her , I was 4 or 5 on my mom & Dads RCA Record Club...15 Big Hits on MGM that features the drawing of her
Nice record store trip video! I would've liked to flip through those Kinks LP's at Skeletone Records. Looks like he had quite a few. The Beatles vinyl appeared to be the same old tired US stuff, which seems to be wide spread around the country. There's a store in my area that must have over a 100 Beatles records for sale. Most are US issues or 70's-80's re-issue imports. It sure would be nice to find clean 60's UK Beatles pressings for a change. Guess you have to make a trip to England to buy those.
Steve Derda - Yes, the same old tired US stuff is accurate alright.. but personally I'm just as bored by the same old UK albums! It's the bootlegs and imports from other various countries which interest me most.
Sounds like you have most of the original 60's UK Beatles vinyl. I'm only looking for a few rare pieces and need to upgrade a couple records. I rarely find UK 60's vinyl by The Beatles or any other artist locally though. Most of mine were purchased online from overseas sellers. Those didn't come cheap, but that's where I'm at with collecting British Rock vinyl. I don't buy or really need US issues anymore.
Maine looks really pretty. The closest I've come to the East Coast is spending a week in Marlboro in '89. COLD!!!! I'm a Calif. guy. I've never felt cold like that in my life. The record store guy in town told me he dated Suzi Quatro. I was like, c'mon...
Jon Sieruga - I hate cold myself. Funny, but I'm reading this in November when days are just starting to get cold. I was freezing last night while trying to sleep, and this morning I had to turn on the heat for the first time this season. It doesn't seem to be working either, so I may have to phone the landlord!
I see you disabled the post of John versus Paul video on here. I understand why you would have to do it. So I'm writing my comment about it on this available posting video. I totally agree with you on your assumptions about those 2. They both were great. They both could be and, in Paul's case, butt-holes about min-ute, piddly things. Thank you for your frank, honest talk about those two. It was very well thought out and honest. Thank you for such a great video explaining the dynamics of John and Paul. I think l would have lost my train of thought a number of times. You held it together and delivered a very remarkable talk, Joe. You SHOULD be very proud of your talks on every topic dealing with the FAB FOUR!! May GOD bless you and yours, my friend!! Take care! Tom
Nothing "killer" I'm afraid. There was one other lesser store I did not show which only had CDs, but they had several of those used Elvis RCA releases of movie songs and sessions in that flat, square packaging (like the EASY COME, EASY GO one you had). Some of them were WILD IN THE COUNTRY and KID GALAHAD, and there was also a non-movie one which had the ELVIS TODAY cover, I believe. I wanted to get them all but didn't want to spend what money I had left just on those.
New Hampshire is great to buy records. No sales tax! That and the gas is pretty cheap up there. Yea I don't know where to start with most Johnny cash albums. He's definitely one of my favorites of that genre. Tied with patsy cline and Jim reeves.
Jimmy M - Not only was there no sales tax, but the records were also discounted. I bought $84 worth of records (according to the sales tags) and the total came out to only $35 !
Hi Joe, i pre-ordered the 2 vinyl set that will be released on November of the concert of the Hollywood bowl, there is 4 songs that were not on the original single lp. The only problem is the album cover that they used for the new double lp, i really don't like it, they should've used a picture of the Beatles playing at the Hollywood Bowl.
Awesome video! Music Plus is one of my favorite record stores. I like that he has posters, pins and lots of dollar records there. Did you buy anything else or just the Beatles on Broadway? Henry shared this video on the Music Plus Facebook page. Did you go to Strange Maine, Moody Lord's or Electric Buddha's? Those are three record stores in a row in Portland. :)
cool what record was that? Henry said on the Facebook page that it was an awesome video. I recommend checking Music Plus if you're around again since he gets lots of memorabilia there. What did you think of the store? Another good record store is Vinylhaven in Brunswick, Maine.
Steve Derda - I know the more diehard Elvis fans won't want to hear it, but I have been told quite often by various record store owners that Elvis is a tough sell these days. The older fans are dying off, and (the next part is just my opinion-) the King's music does not translate to young new generations very well. But of course, I am a fan!
I guess there's still a market for clean 50's Elvis vinyl and of course the true rarities. But there's a ton of stuff that was produced and re-issued in the 70's that continues to flood the market. The same can be said of The Beatles to a certain extent. As I mentioned in another post, a local store continues to get in used sometimes new/sealed Beatles vinyl to the point that he can't fit them in the bins. You'd probably love digging through his stuff. although it's mainly US, re-issued Imports and some older boots.
Thanks Joe for the tour. I'll be doing the same next week. Nice when the wife gets involved with your passion. Hope mine joins me on my excursion to Portland. I dont get to That Rochester area. I liked the NY Dolls poster in that store. Best, Steve
Hi Steve. You came to mind when I made the video, as I know you're always checking out different stores. Thanks for checking in.
Great vid here..thanx for taking us along....never been up in that area yet.....in a few weeks will be in Missouri,IL,WI....and maybe on my way back Kansas....In Oct. hoping to go to Texas and Louisiana briefly...you make it fun my friend take care and have a great week
psykodj67 - Thanks, and I hope you have a good time.
Great video Joe, thanks for sharing your trip, very much appreciated. All the best. Pete.
Pretty cool video joe. Looks like you had a good time.
Had a great time!
Great video Joe, I love your channel, I'd love to visit your neck of the woods...cheers!
Awesome video of your Maine and New Hampshire trips Joe! Record stores look interesting. Great update Joe. Take care!
Beatlevinyl85 - Very cool, Marv. Of course you know that Paul is playing this Sunday... so please check your PM's regularly from me. :)
+MeanMr Mayo Yep. I'm ready for Paul this Sunday. I'll keep checking my PMs. Also, I've posted a new Beatles update in case you don't know.
Yes, I know about the update.. I have a lot of videos on hold to watch, yours included. Been away for too long, and now with work I have limited spare time and everything is backed up! But I'll certainly be watching it, don't ever worry about that! :)
+MeanMr Mayo Hooe you enjoy the update when you get to it! Thanks Joe!
Hi Joe,
Always a pleasure to skim through vinyls with you. Always fun and keep them coming.
Looking forward to seeing those finds in the next video.
God bless
Tino
Wow Joe, I thought for sure you would run into someone from the VC. You always do! That second store was huge. What a cool place. Take me with you next time!!! Take care...
Tim Allen - Would love to hang out and do a video with you somewhere, sometime.
great video Joe, I celebrated my birthday today, and as a present for myself I bought Meet the Supremes, since I like them so much
Happy Birthday - and a good album!
Nice record store video, Joe. Loved it.
I would get lost in these record stores. Great stuff.
Great video! Nice stuff, cool Blondie bootleg. I'm in Florida right now
That was a really nice video, Joe.. - Never been to Maine or New H.
Very nice, Joe. I never travelled nearly enough in New England - just a few times.
Hey Kris. Thanks for watching.
it was like a quick vacation to the NE....very cool
Joe, my wife and I go to that portion of Maine quite often but haven't been to Music Plus. We will definitely be going there the next time and hopefully will find some good stuff….that is unless you've bought it all!! ….:)
Perry - Nah, there wasn't all that much I needed there.
hi joe great trip! I love new Hampshire my brother used to live there and we had a vacation home up there when I was a kid. used to go skiing every weekend. the stores you went to looked pretty decent especially the second one. those 45s in the basement were driving me crazy! would love to go through them sometime! hope you picked up some records you found interesting! rob
Thanks Rob.

Hi Mike.. thanks for checking in.
Joe, it looks like a fun road trip and good Beatle finds. I would love to visit Maine and New Hampshire.
You will have to take a second trip to that store, in the future. Great finds!! cant wait to see your elvis pick ups.
Actually, no Elvis pickups..
Hi Joe. Wow, that second store was amazing. Looks like you got a few nice things (that is, if you kept the ones I saw you picking up here): the Diana Ross one, the Decca Beatles. You might want to plan another record road trip soon. Princeton Record Exchange in NJ, just got in a Beatles collection of over 1000 LP's!

Nice looking town, that last record shop was interesting.
Great second store!!
Mmmmmm Records..... Even love the smell of them. Lol :)
MAN! A few nice Elvis and Connie records I really liked! Ha ha

My Father has that Decca Tapes record signed by Pete Best. Pete signed is name on the Bass drum head on the cover!

great video Joe! Did you see The antique paliion tour I did a few days ago? I think you would and other viewers would enjoy it!
Hi Trish.. I will check it out.
I wish he would've looked through the Jan & Dean section, I saw the 1974 United Artist double compilation album, "Gotta Take That One Last Ride"
Looks like you had a good time. Hope you found some killer stuff. See ya soon. Ed
Nothing "killer" I'm afraid. There was one other lesser store I did not show which only had CDs, but they had several of those used Elvis RCA releases of movie songs and sessions in that flat, square packaging (like the EASY COME, EASY GO one you had). Sounds like the FTD CD's.
I thought they were FTD's.
MaYo, do you have a Record Store ? I really like your videos . I have osteoarthritis and don't walk very well.
Have a great day ! 😀😀😀
New Hampshire is great to buy records. No sales tax! That and the gas is pretty cheap up there. Yea I don't know where to start with most Johnny cash albums. He's definitely one of my favorites of that genre. Tied with patsy cline and Jim reeves.

It's all too much. I'd need to camp out there.
Liked the video, do you realize that we spend lots of time looking for records and then we never have time to play them!
Oh yes, I do. But I am happy finding and collecting them too, so it's okay.
+MeanMr Mayo ; Yes I agree.
"Yummy yum yum?" Who wrote that line? I hope it wasn't the same guy who wrote, "Goody good candy!" :D Nice to see you interacting with your lady!
LOL!! Yup, that is the same writer. Glad you recognized it! :)
I could use a Choosy Chews bar right about now.
But make sure you don't have a toothache when you bite into it.
Right. That could prove disastrous. Just ask Hubbell Budweiser or any of his orchestra.
Wow that was great! you should do more road trips like that instead of the same ole same ole. It's nice up that way.
James Hyatt - I'll make them as often as I go trippin' ... which unfortunately is not all that often!
That second store was huge. Any cd's or just vinyl?
Hi Joe, i pre-ordered the 2 vinyl set that will be released on November of the concert of the Hollywood bowl, there is 4 songs that were not on the original single lp. The only problem is the album cover that they used for the new double lp, i really don't like it, they should've used a picture of the Beatles playing at the Hollywood Bowl.
Serge Francoeur - I'm not wild about the cover either, but mainly because it also advertises the EIGHT DAYS A WEEK film.
Thanks for your comment. I bought one other record there. I didn't go to any of the other stores you mentioned though... at least I don't think I did!
cool what record was that? Henry said on the Facebook page that it was an awesome video. I recommend checking Music Plus if you're around again since he gets lots of memorabilia there. What did you think of the store? Another good record store is Vinylhaven in Brunswick, Maine.
It was a record of Beatles cover songs, but I can't remember the name at the moment.
Bins overflowing with Elvis vinyl. Another common sight at stores these days. More supply than demand for a lot of his stuff perhaps?
Steve Derda - I know the more diehard Elvis fans won't want to hear it, but I have been told quite often by various record store owners that Elvis is a tough sell these days. The older fans are dying off, and (the next part is just my opinion-) the King's music does not translate to young new generations very well. But of course, I am a fan!

Joe,whatever happened to that Shea stadium concert footage that was shown with Ron Howard documentary? Can it be seen now? Where can I find it?
Craig Warner - Not sure where it is now. We're still hoping it may be released officially someday. But maybe there are bootlegs of it around the 'Net.
Joe did u get the Anthology cubes? I have seen those at the Fest in the past and they can be costly!
Astrosjer - Yes, they also had CDs at the second store. I did not buy the Anthology cubes.
I hear Draw the Line in the back round
Do you use discogs to keep track of your collection?
No...
I like road trips but it seems like I'm always in a hurry. I need to slow down. How were the prices ?
Prices were good, especially the second store. I got a bunch of records for only $35 which were originally tagged for a total of $84.
Do you listen to Aerosmith?
No. Only if I hear a song on the radio.
I hate the old misty smell
