- Here is a full set of The Blues Doctors (Adam Gussow and Alan Gross) at the 2015 Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale. The music--our music--doesn't start until roughly four minutes in, because we were playing across the street and down the block from another amped-up blues act. We had to wait until the moment they finished, then hit it hard.
This set is warts and all. There are mistakes here, false starts. And, notably, there's a (washtub) bass player named Robert Creel, who floats into view after about a minute, then sets up out of view of the camera. We love what he adds to the act!
The vocals and harp are louder than the guitar because the camera was set up near the PA. The guitar was plenty loud for the folks out front, grooving to the band. It's just not loud in this video.
The final song of this set, "Crossroads Blues," was uploaded separately.

This music is the real deal! Fast forward to 2022, I saw you guys at Thacker Mountain Radio Show (Oxford, MS)!
Looked like a real nice day. Thanks for the warts and everything.
I think the 4-min delay at the beginning made that initial punch even better!
Enjoyed watching the set, thanks for sharing.
you guys are great.australia would luv ya.
nice video Adam)))))
A want this album. For those of us who live too far away to enjoy your music in person, thank you so much for sharing this show. I also liked the Professor Sixmillion reference around 28:52. I'm currently in the middle of my fourth annual reading of "Mr. Satan's Apprentice". Hopefully someday I can get it autographed.
Loved every minute of it! Honest music from two top blokes.
And this vid performance is super great. thanks, mahalo, gracias, and merci!
Anyone who thinks busking is romantic needs to give their head a shake....after an hour of giving it all I've got, I am sweaty and worn out. It is not child's play....but for all the disappointment and hard work, it does have it's great moments....romance isn't one of them....ha ha. Good work Mr.G...and thanks for all the lessons
