Glad you are back on the road. Here is something you may have already thought about, but if not, since you are dealing with sleeping in the winter, buy an 12 volt electric blanket, for some extra warmth. I have a friend that bought one for emergencies when traveling on the road for work during cold weather in case he would break down, plugs into a cigarette outlet. He was worried about draining the battery with really cold weather but it hasn't been an issue, but just to be safe, he bought one of those jump starters that has outlets, air pump, USB ports, and such and just plugs it into that. Since then he got some 12 volt items like a coffee pot, a little heater/defroster fan and a couple other things. He has actually ended up sleeping in his vehicle some to save on motel rooms while on the road, says his per diem ends up going into savings, so worked out fine for him. Just a thought. Really enjoying your adventures, oh to be young again.

Jake I noticed in previous post you mentioned switching to a soft top from best top soon. Are you concerned from a security standpoint? I would think for your journeys and travels that the hard top is a way better fit.

That was super awesome of the shop to take some footage of the rebuild for you. I never appreciated how hard it was to make these videos until i started trying and let me say its incredible that you have the creative foresight to get all those shots at the beginning to make the rest of the video possible. Its like you planned this weeks in advance but i know it doesnt always work that way you probably just got good coverage and held on to the footage and made it fit. If i were vlogging consistently like you i probably wouldve used that footage already but nooooo you held on to it for this video. On top of everything else you are juggling and dealing with. Its just awesome.

Jake, it is great to see that Jade is on the road again. No question, it is a quality rebuild with the best gaskets that you can get. Just to comment on a point of interest, Angelo is quite right about the oil. I worked with a former Chrysler engineer and he had told me that the 4 litre does need a thicker oil. 15w40 is great and has higher ZDDP levels, which is what your engine needs. I would suggest that you never run an oil lighter than 10w30, but stick with a thicker oil and a quality oil filter. Plate C

I am about to do a top engine rebuild, I will be specifically ordering a Fel-Pro kit in order to support them for supporting you. And that's how that works. Goooo capatalism!
The wrangler never got the Renix, carbed 4.2 87-90, the right to the high output in 1991. The Cherokee has the Renault/ Bendix (AKA Renix) from 87-90. high output is just Chrysler's fuel injection system that brought the power up about 20hp, along with a better flowing head.

Don’t drive it till it dies, cause then you’ll need a brand new engine like me and just the engine is a couple grand
