He says w/o hesitation in a crazy world where not only famous guys but random people consulting psychologists mentioned as sick by non-therapyed, real phycos
7:14 I Completely agree with him there, when I first started listening to his music (mostly with Alter Bridge) I couldn't get over how close to home the lyrics hit. They were just comforting and relatable made me feel a little less alone. I'm glad he writes music to help cope with such struggles because I know how much listening to it helps me cope with my own. And I have no doubt plenty of other fans feel the same way 🖤
I’m one of those people who Year of the Tiger resonated with and I wish I could tell Myles my story. My oldest daughter was murdered 20 years ago. That album brought back so many feelings and memories.
Music is the universal language! Myles hit the nail on the head. Loss and pain are all inclusive no matter one’s status or where we are at any given time in our lives. He is authentic and full of grace and I have total respect for him and those that strive for that peace❤️
Thanks 4 a great interview with Myles Kennedy and posting it. It is a joy to see him happy and looking forward to performing on the stage, again. His fans are delighted, as well!!
Must say, I feel incredibly grateful to have Myles' music in my life. Across the 2000s, into the 2010s, Mayfield to AB to Myles and Mark's solo projects - there's something about the way Myles writes that beds itself in deep. Last couple weeks as things were reopening across the UK, there was this weirdest feeling of everything outside the home being an "activity" you just go and do; like you just "re-unlocked" some abilities that were taken away beforehand. Nothing felt authentic, but I remember putting Ides of March (the album) on and just going for a drive. Somewhere in that drive, it all felt okay again. Maybe it's knowing someone you've listened to for almost 20 years has just gone through the same experience, but tracks like Wake Me When It's Over and Sifting Through the Fire were the exact tonic to the unease I was feeling Yes it's strange just leaving a comment like this on a random video, but that's also kinda the point. Cheers to everyone reading this, and I hope you too find some sense of ease with Myles' music :)
I felt a lot of similarity in this comment. Particularly as a UK citizen as well, everything reopening and everyone being outside again actually took a little bit of getting used to for me, but after a while I was back in the groove almost. In the midst of it was Myles Kennedy's new album - as for me with him I'm a more recent fan I guess, the Alter Bridge stuff dragged me towards Mayfield and then eventually Year of the Tiger when that came out felt like the most relatable thing I've ever heard. I just always sensed some form of security in his voice, like the lyrics and tone are telling my mind that "it's going to be okay, just take it easy" - a few ones I'd like to point out from his entire discography that did this for me were include Open Your Eyes, Before Tomorrow Comes, All Ends Well, Love Can Only Heal, One Fine Day (that one especially) and Tear Us Apart, with The Ides of March, and Moonshot also hitting that thought from Ides (I'd mention more but I'd be here all day). All in all it's just been a pleasure being part of Myles's musical journey. His material has resonated with myself and so many others, and I can't wait to hear more stuff from him and Mark as well.
Finally! Here's the guitar! We've heard so much about it. And anxiety has been my theme since the beginning of the pandemic. It's been harder than usual to cope with it. Alter Bridge and your music is therapy for me Myles.
So in a way I can relate to where Myles is coming from. Plus he's also a huge animal lover and as soon as I found that him and Slash wrote to address elephant poaching, my respect for them went up 10,000%!
I love it when he confess:I'm a bit of a softy"...Myles,a great musician yet so down to earth...Love Rain Down,Worried Mind,Moonshot,my top 3 from the new album!hope to see you on tour some day when all this madness is over..we'll overcome,we will survive...through your music!🙏 ♥️💜
I lost a parent when I was a few years older than Myles and listening to The Year of the Tiger really helps me in darker moments. I didn't even know the story behind the album when I heard it so it hit me extra hard. Thanks for the amazing interview. Myles really is a special musician.
i love his music myles kennedy is awesome and i love alter bridge to death i love it everytime they release a new album it make me so happy to hear new music from my favorite band alter bridge
Saw Alter Bridge at Janus Park St Pete, FL🎸🌴👩🏻🦰It was a great time and you guys ( the whole band )rocked the house. The emotional parts were important for me after losing my sister. Love can only heal!! You are my favorite band of all time, TY for everything you give..💗
Don't forget that he was the singer in the movie Rockstar, the fan that replaced the main character at the end of the movie. Before Alter Bridge existed. Myles is a fucking legend.
Interesting interview. Was a trip hearing him talk about differentiation in gear used between AB and Solo albums. I actually use all my high end stuff in MY rock band and Cheapie guitars for my softer solo stuff. Great interviewer as well
I play a real guitar now. But as a small child a baseball bat was the best guitar I ever had in my imagination and in life. I played that imaginary bat guitar like there was no tomorrow!
Use that anxiety bro, that’s what I’ve tried doing, I know it’s scary but if you really dig deep into those anxieties you can pull out some licks or riffs that really make you feel..
Here's an idea if you like epic music. 💡 You need to listen to Mötley Crüe! They are epic and they have the best drummer ever! HE CAN EVEN PLAY UPSIDE DOWN!!! Look up Kickstart My Heart, Dr. Feelgood, Home Sweet Home, Primal Scream, the albums Too Fast For Love, Shout At the Devil, Dr. Feelgood, and Tommy's drum solos. You won't regret it!
Uh, Motley Crue have been around since 1981, wrote a few good and a bunch of bad songs, ingested a whole lot of illegal substances, and have long since faded into retirement. I’m pretty sure everybody older than 10 knows who they are.
Myles being a complete normal person not overwhelmed by fame and talking about his problems with anxiety makes me admire him more 💜

Yeah both Myles and Slash seem like very humble and very nice people! Good for them staying genuine and not being changed due to fame
He says w/o hesitation in a crazy world where not only famous guys but random people consulting psychologists mentioned as sick by non-therapyed, real phycos
@@tierefuerimmer9635 I guess Myles revealed him that even after crazy GnR years, he can have a normal life, too.
@@alperbozdag233 I think you're thinking of Slash. Myles was never in GNR but him and Slash play their songs sometimes

It’s nice to know that even celebrities we look up to have normal people problems just like us.
I never see Myles as a celebrity. He is definitely just one of us, and I think that is how he sees himself.
