    Nice. I like that current limiter circuit with the current transformer. I need to try that one myself.
    I would like to see you use this devices in practice with your oscilloscope. I'm not quite sure how you are determining core saturation and optimal turns ratios.
    I also have a couple of mains current limiters that use a lightbulb or PTC thermistor. I find it helpful to add two of the cheap mains voltmeters from AliExpress to both sides of the mains current limiter. This lets me know the voltage drop across the bulb/ptc at a glance :-)

    Great video a good video nobody has at least at the rate is making or altering a server smps for constant current and voltage both adjustable. Also include what would change when connecting to supplies in series. I not only can use all the smaller voltages 5v etc. But also have needs for low voltage and higher amps and opposite
    You are defiantly the person to do the video your very clear and give links so a person could have boards made thanks for all you share

    Maybe you can make some tester for core saturation? When using used cores it's hard to make calculations without it. The saturation can be meansured using high power, varible frequency sinusoidal power supply, and an osciloscope, when the saturation accures, the sinewave gets clipped.

    Very interesting device!
    One possible improvement I could think of since this is a testing device:
    Across the main filter capacitors, add reverse polarity diodes, and maybe even replace the 200V capacitors with 400V ones. That way, in case the transistors do not switch correctly, or a connection on the transformer is faulty, the filter capacitors will not be damaged.

      @AntonioBdeJesus 5 лет назад

      But aren't diodes there?! For what?! I really did not get you.

    • @5467nick
      @5467nick 5 лет назад

      Those 200V capacitors aren't at risk from the output side of the converter. If there is a short somewhere, be it from transistors failing, or being turned on simultaneously, or from a shorted transformer, the worst that will happen is the capacitors empty themselves into the short. The inductor will saturate and the FWB rectifier will protect the capacitors from negative voltages.

    Really great.
    I would like to ask
    If I can use IR2110 instead of pulse transformer or not
    Thanks to you All

      Search the internet for "MC34063 Calculator." That is the easiest DC/DC converter to get started with. It's also just a low voltage device used to step up or step down around 1.25 to 30 volts. You really should figure those out before playing with a mains type topology. You will also find MC34063's in around 60-70% of all phone type car chargers. You can usually take one of those apart, change a couple of components, and make any voltage you want (between 1.25 and 30 volts).

      I know his main Russian channel has a lot more stuff on it. That won't help you a whole lot if you don't understand Russian and need an explanation. However, if you're looking for some circuits to build and are an intuitively focused type of person you can learn a lot from the Kasyan main channel.
      I don't understand Russian at all, but I have built a few of the circuits from the Russian channel. He has several switch mode designs on there.
      ....but I'm curious about his techniques too :-)
