I used to go in a few of these pubs. I was a regular in the Armoury at dinner times in my Stockport College days. Didn't see The Nelson on there, the real students pub. This is a great video. I have missed the Stockport videos lately. Please can we have MORE!!!!!
I grew up in Adswood and had my fist pint in the Flying Dutchman on Hillgate. I think it was one shilling a 8d for a pint of mild. Had a few in the Armoury, the Greyhound, the Adwsood, The Blossoms, The Plough, The Pineapple, The Poco Poco and the Warren, and many others.
I used to live on Birdhall Road (100 yards from the Greyhound) in the 50s. Went to Ladybridge Primary on Councillor Lane. Born 1946 & still going strong. I think: )

Wow the Malt Shovels when it was being built!
Well I'm not going to knock it because I come originally from Stockport....but jeez some of these pubs in the 1970s what a dump!
