It's amazing how a couple of negative comments can negate the hundreds of positive comments. The people that love you and your family don't care two cents about what the doubters think. Continue loving your family and what you do no matter what anybody thinks. Don't let them make you lose your focus. Always, just move forward. Love you guys!!!
I don't think Doug and Eevee negate ANY positive comments. I am sure they appreciate them all. And there is nothing wrong with Doug calling out the haters that are just on here to criticize. Nothing makes these two lose their focus. His comments were made in a joking way but hopefully got his point across.
@@shelleylee8774 I know the negative comments get to them. They're human. But, part of mastering the navigation of them is to learn to let it go. Lately, he's been bringing negative comments up more regularly than he normally does. All it does is put a wet blanket on my experience with him. I want to enjoy them for who they are. I don't care what other people say. He's got his guard up and not able to be himself when he's focusing on the wrong thing. Nothing I'm saying is mean or unfair. It just is what it is. Hopefully he'll take it for a valuable lesson and at least think about the adverse effect that comes about from giving those kind of people any energy, let alone airtime. I think they're absolutely fantastic just as they are.

I cannot understand the mentality of people who sit there and criticise you for not finishing things off, if it upsets people simply take your comments elsewhere.
Lack of perceived progress it is more It’s probably down to time, effort and funds as to what gets done. Also people need to appreciate that in the midst of all the work that is being undertaken this family have a life to lead. It is very time consuming, presenting projects, recording and editing the content of this channel presenting it to the public. To those who criticise perhaps a bit of appreciation wouldn’t go amiss. DON'T listen to the trolls! Since we have been watching you, you have finished everything you have set your mind to do. You sold every place you finished and moved on to another bigger project. It's so sad people are so mean minded. We have redone our home and now have added on to for the last 20 years. We did the work ourselves and had no mortgage on our home and land. You guys are awesome and you remind us of when we were young and starting out with our young ones. Keep on doing and have loads of fun and stop listening to the trolls out there. Life is multitasking. You can't just halt all progress on the overall objective because one sub-project hits a snag. It takes time for supplies and logistics to coordinate for each separate sub-project. I wouldn't sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting to complete one sub-project whilst others were available to be addressed. I can't imagine Doug or Eevee just sitting on their hands waiting for everything to fall in place for one sub-project before tackling one of the many others waiting in the wings. They would NEVER get anything done! I applaud their inventiveness and can-do spirit. You do you guys!❤

@@usaclc I don't know where, but I believe it's more inward and away from the coastline, which is good. But this storm was so severe I think, at the very least, they're probably without power and probably will be for quite awhile. Worst case scenario, they might have property damage this time. But hopefully safe! Every time I've thought something must have happened to them, they turned out to be fine. I know that when they're able to respond and let everyone know how they are, they'll do so, either by hearting your comment or addressing it to everyone in their next video. Btw, I keep checking the online maps for the area's worst hit and the map for power outages in Florida trying to gage what their status might be. As of yesterday, if they're living more inward, and they're affected at all it would be because of power outages.
You do realize that the majority of the people that follow you, don’t have expectations to when you will finish anything. We like going along with your family during your remodels. And anyone who has done a “makeover” knows things do not always go smoothly. That there are delays in doing certain things. Products being unavailable, rain, storms, tools needed or broken. Besides you have a wife and 2 kids. And you are also doing 2 HUGE projects. And just maybe you need a couple days off. JUST BECAUSE!! So be kind to yourself and do not worry about time frames to get things done. Quit listening to the bad mouthers. There are so many IDIOTS out there. Would love to see any art work that Belle and Maverick have done lately. They are very talented!!

Doug and Eveey Wishing you safety as this hurricane is going thru Florida. We have a home in Brevard county Florida and our friends say that they are only getting wind as of tonight. We are at our Pennsylvania home so they will keep us posted. I love the area you are building off the porch. The wide steps will be so nice. I always use pee gravel around my home and I never get any weeds in them or cats using them as a litter area. I also have potted plants. I like the look of potted plants better. You are doing a great job on both properties. Some of us enjoy all the different projects so just do what makes you happy. I learned you can't always please everyone so I just do what makes me happy. All your work is excellent. Stay safe! I will keep you all in my prayers! 🙏🙏♥️🌴

I'm the type of person who pretty much stays in the moment, especially since, my brain isn't capable of thinking 5 or more steps ahead, due to a head injury. But it's mainly because ya'lls videos are very interesting, detail oriented, and they're filled with lots of useful information other people can use, whenever they do their own projects. I truly appreciate how well you explain everything you're doing, by putting it into words that even I can understand, and I'm learning from the problems you've run into, too. Ya'lls videos, have given me the confidence to take care of the projects that needed to be done around the house, by my self. 😊

Its sad you even needed to repeat things in this video and that others have so many issues about the way you're doing your own home. So much of what you mentioned in this video has been said previously. If anyone has ever had any of the issues you're trying to avoid then they will immediately appreciate all the effort you have put into this patio area. Not having to clean up weeds and grass around the house, having a non-muddy area to step in, and having a nice little place to put potted plants is priceless. I can't wait to see what comes next. I love my gravel yard with potted plants. Yes to BIG pots and your plants will get big. I think I saw elephant ear? Monster and Tree philodendron will look GORGEOUS and thrive in your climate. We have a lot of succulents where we are.

Going on 5th day without power. We're pretty old school....so handling it. Our gracious neighbor let us plug our fridge via extension cord to his generator, such a blessing! No damage to house ...just alot of clean up. Peace and Blessings from coastal Georgia!

That front stone patio framed by timbers is so lovely!! It’s funny Doug and Eevee but I love the ‘Right now’ moments and project updates while not thinking about future projects but that’s just me. I marvel looking back at all the projects you have so doggedly and amazingly accomplished!!

I really like those gravel pads they will look nice and clean. You could build them all around the house and connect the outdoor kitchen and laundry. Good thing about gravel around a house is you can usually hear it when someone walks on it.
