    One thing I want to point out outside of this incident is that while he does still throw himself to the ground there seems to be times where legitimately one of his legs (the left primarily) seems to just not be functional and he drops to his knees; I'm starting to think we're living through a moment of watching an athlete burn the simple function of said body part to the ground to a point that I fear how his legs will serve him even a couple years post retirement.
    Lasting Leg injuries are something prevalent in many NBA athletes and especially nba bigs but I dont know if I've ever seen someones leg continually, and admittedly just from my outside perspective, seem to cease core function.

    If you are 280 pounds and always going at the limits of your athleticism, you are always going to get injured. Look at Jokic and see a man about the same size who plays well within his limits and he very rarely gets injured. Jokic walks through a lot of his movements. He conserves his energy for when he really needs it. And he has a game that fits within his physical limitation. He knows how to protect his body in the game of basketball. Embiid's problem is he relies on the maximum effort for every movement he makes. Joel, Zion, Giannis, KAT, even Larry Bird and skinny Ja, yeah, it sure is entertaining to watch them but all of these guys are wearing out their bodies prematurely by not learning how to move efficiently and by always performing so close to their limits. MJ changed his game. Embiid needs to do the same.

    If Embiid does decide to play Game 2, and it looks like he's going to, and then they lose again, and Embiid once again aggravates that knee, I would shut it down. This would be insane. Because if the Knicks win again in a series that the 6ers are looking to win, this series is going 6 or 7 games. There is no way that Embiid can survive against such a tough D as the Knicks have for that long.

    Embiid had no business even attempting that move. There's a reason that despite being one of the best in-game dunkers in NBA history, we rarely see LeBron dunk on people. He knows it isn't worth the risk. As a pro athlete, you gotta know your body and play within its limits.

      He’s done as a first option. Not because he’s not talented enough but the debridement he had done is just not going to allow it. • @edkiely2712
      @edkiely2712 15 дней назад +1

      @@7eventy4u Actually, your point is a good one, especially if Embid is going to be approaching dealing with a dysfunctional left-knee moving forward. He could reach the point down-the-road where he's at "bone-on-bone" and can't play anymore in a couple of years but, in the meantime, they do their best to sell him as "mostly healthy," and move him while he does still hv value. I just don't see that happening. They'll probably attempt to "rehab" him in the off-season and give it a go again in '24/'25. The Philly media is portraying this as having "avoiding a scare" whereas, I think, best case scenario, he plays at 75/80%! Worst case, he continues to damage it further and doesn't finish the series!
