Strategy Tip: You need IN ratings totaling 5+ to not panic. 6/3 - Commanders and Commanders, Pg13 - US Commanders and Panic section does a good job at explaining. Commanders exert their IN ratings into up to 2 hexes, so it's definitely important to get a commander on board quickly and keep him within 2 hexes of as many soldiers as possible. It's reciprocal too, meaning if a commander's initiative die roll is a red number, then all soldiers within 2 hexes ALL add their IN ratings to the commander's to help get the commander to the total 5+ IN rating required to avoid panic. Alternatively, you can avoid panic without a commander by keeping a group of non-commander soldiers stacked that collectively have a 5+ combined IN rating. That's risky due to the auto fire rules, because that makes that big stack a juicy target, but you can avoid panic without a commander. Read the "Commander Giving Turns" section too. Commanders giving turns is a VITAL strategy for survival....especially in Mission #1.

Strategy Tip: Always bring your soldiers on board, and always move during operations in crouched posture. It will save lives!

You roll a new action number at the beginning of every TURN where a German can act, so after the German fell fell prone on his his 2-turn action (808) you should have rolled a new action number prior to his 1-turn. If Germans are to act in both the 2-turn and 1-turn actions then you would ultimately roll for German action number twice in the round. If a German Special Action comes into effect during a turn then you roll a new action number for any remaining Germans still to actin in that turn, so additional new German action rolls could occur too during a round. See the 1st sentence of 6/8 - German Actions, pg 15, but the entire paragraph does a good job at explaining the topic overall. A "Round" is the entire process and a "Turn" is each of the 2 action sequences within the entire round, so there are 2 "Turns" per "Round". Hope this helps.
