- Just a sample of what the Irish government FG/FF and previously Labour have done to the people of Ireland. While they and their criminal buddies are getting richer by the day our people are left to rot in the street.
I put this together just before Christmas day 2016, I was out doing some shopping when a woman stopped me for what I thought was money. She had a two-year-old in a buggy and she was asking for nappies and baby food, the toddler looked frozen and hungry. That broke my heart. At that time there were 6,700 according to homeless charities. It’s now well over 8000 homeless people with 3000 of them children. This is the result of Fine Gael/Fianna Fái policies, not foreigners. The real leeches are the crooks in power, preaching poverty for the people while they living a life of unimaginable luxury. And although I cannot verify that everyone begging is homeless, many are, you may check with places like the Peter McVerry Trust and Focus Ireland to get the true figures. They’re shocking and shameful.

Now in 2019 theirs over 14thousand Irish homeless' four thousand of them are children.
It's a national disgrace. It's heartbreaking footage and thank you for highlighting this. Economic migrants are handed keys to houses after just stepping of the plane. What corrupt politicians we have. The people of Ireland need to wake up!

I’m from Tullamore and we have 2 convents here, 1 has 9 elderly nuns in a building that probably has 100 bedrooms. The 2nd was a battered women’s shelter sold off to a property developer. There are empty convents totally kitted out, the length and breath of this country. Why aren’t these so called charitable/religious people offering rooms to the homeless. God knows they owe us for keeping them in that fine luxury we donated to the church for centuries. Who’s in charge of this anyway. I’m going to look into this matter now that I’m talking about it. Will you too? in your town please !. How can a church have a man sleeping on its steps and not open the door.
I can't believe my people in my Homeland are in this mess.Its especially hard for the Irish who are homeless because we are a proud people.

Very sad i been there as homeless in dublin sleeping out for 3 years oh friends i cant discrib it its just touching but one thing is sure u need to be very strong mindly very very and never give up as that was as apart of my life its really the real school of life teach lots what can t tell to the people be hamble this life does not worth wing of the fly iam ziggy the algerians lived in dublin as many know me there special the Irish and big thanksfor all homeless staff services big thanks to all of u from ziggy the algerian

I have been der i no first hand some of the worst experience in my life but I have been the luckyes one I got out for the people with noting der is hope and a load of nice people out der help is out der you just have to find it

The Government will NEVER fix this problem because they simply do not care enough. I am afraid it is left up to the people. This makes me mad. I keep on thinking did our forebears suffer and die for this kind of future. If the people of Ireland ever pick up the Rifle again it will be against our own Government for the right to have a roof over our heads. Empty houses and streets full of homeless. Since the making of this video the problem has only gotten worse. Time for a new video on this matter in 2019.

Just my opinion, but Dublin is literally unaffordable for anyone on the verge of being homeless or already experiencing it, relocation to more cheaper county's like Cavan, Roscommon or Monaghan, at least accommodation there is available, only problem I see in this solution would the fact that counties have high unemployment.

Disgraceful FFG. A neighbour (a young family) have been made homeless. What are they doing about it? Helping international funds exploit the situation and looking after landlords.

Last time I was in Northern Ireland was circa 2013. The only homeless people imseen there were clearly Roma who I believe choose only one lifestyle for themselves and teach their children that same lifestyle of begging from birth so they know nothing else.

Why not sell yours then... it's a misplaced marxist critique, I'd agree the faith and political financial side should be separated out before debating and tackling the issue. Inflation and debt is main problem and you could do better to tackle that in whatever small way you can... have no debt and acquire assets you can donate to charity yourself.

Many of the pictures are not even from Ireland and some don't seem to be homeless people either.
I just don't get why ppl sleep on the streets, on the ground.. I am homeless and do not look it, ppl don't take it as seriously when I say it as they would someone who does look homeless, like these that sleep on the streets, I guess it's the alcohol, worst thing u can do is drink if you are homeless, some people can handle drug addiction some cant, the worst thing u can ever do is stick around the city centre, your best bet is to try get a car, it's. No problem at all to get a job in a warehouse packing, u can save in no time with no bills to pay and if u budget, just because u don't have a home does not mean u don't have everything else, worst thing u can do is lose hope, u need to switch on that motivation mode find a nice little spot somewhere not far from the edge of the city or suburban area, get a good tent there not that expensive you can pay from 40-200€ on a range of tents, it's upto you which one u buy,just put it in a spot of your own choosing preferably a wooded close to safety and not too far off the track, but some were nobody ever walks through somewhere undisturbed u can put some work in to make it good to go, pitch your tent, set up a fire and wood cutting spot, make a perimeter, set up camp and the sooner u get comfortable and unstressed, u will not look it in the face, keep Ur haircut fresh, make sure Ur guaranteed somewhere a shower every morning or evening, twice a day if possible, and just try Ur very best to get whatever job u may be good at, save in the credit union start Ur search for apartments, the weeks really fly in

Being homeless is not the thing to be looking at but it's the most glaring aspect of several wider overlapping issues. Mental health, isolation, education, drugs, economic failures or corruption, poor planning and who knows how many contributing factors feed into the problems people have... most critics don't factor in that people's mental weaknesses, resilience and breaking points are different, dynamic and can change over time. Yes, personal choice is in the mix but it's not necessarily the only/main reason why so many find themselves homeless.

So when you have some spare cash go to post office local shops and Donate their could be a few charities on card
Not every body can make Direct Debit payments to charities so this way its easier to give its not rocket science
