Hi Alessa 😊 just rewatched seen as the premieres were playing up on Sunday. What a great castle. Those staircases do look very narrow and windy 😅 the moat does look beautiful but it’s a shame it was previously used as it was, I imagine your right and it didn’t have the same impression back then. Love that about the bats, sounds like they look after them really well there. The kitchen looks very impressive, like the large fireplaces. 😊 As always so much fantastic information and research done 😊

Okay, it's sadly become apparent you Brit's have went and changed your clocks again without proper notice to us Yanks! 🤣🤣I don't know if it's the most beautiful castle there, but it's certainly a fine one! Well preserved too and we enjoyed the tour and history. I can imagine living there back then. Or the undead living there still! Lovely tour and views from above. There is something about this castle that brings tears to my eyes and a pang in my heart...I am sure your voice and presentation is part of this feeling...the music is just perfect...the views from above are magnificent...tales of ghosts and the paranormal experiences would only be expected from such a castle, unusual for the lady to be in red, usually they're wearing white 🤍...spectacular drone views which brought back the thought of the moat being used as the refuse for the toilets ☣ and how bad that smell would have been with so many living there 😝 I must say, this is the most breathtaking castle to date and you did a superb job describing it today!

The walk inside the castle showed how grande this castle would once have been but the ruins are still very well preserved. Loved the tour around the inside and the decorations for halloween, hats from the ceiling and pumpkins by the window, gave it an eerie feel. The views from the tower were beautiful. This is the most beautiful castle in the whole UK I think. In the UK they still has respect for old builings and castles, Europe, and certainly the Netherlands, can learn something from them, if you don't keep anything old and modernize everything your no longer have history to look back on, it's a beautiful castle !!! 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻

So true. The Europeans have decided their history isn't worth preserving. I guess it's because they think they're so much better than everyone else. Now they've allowed millions of Islamists in to make their own history.
30 years Europe will have completely surrendered/converted to Islam.

"Is THIS England's Most BEAUTIFUL Castle??" . . . . Betteridge's Law would tend to say "no" - Leed's Castle over near Maidstone is far fairer but Bodiam IS beautifully situated in the landscape and a very picturesque ruin so thank you for the extensive (and exhaustive!) tour.
Anybody visiting should take food for the hundreds of huge fish that live in the moat. It's doubtful that the moat would have been THAT polluted - there was little industrial pollution in those times and the organic "waste products" would have been broken down in the reed beds, the fish growing fat on the nutrients - just like the carp ponds of the old monasteries - and have been eaten by the inhabitants.
Lovers of old steam railway journeys can visit the nearby Kent and East Sussex railway - cream teas while puffing through the countryside!

Good to see some of the inside.
    Thanks.
    Looks rather draughty to me!
A few floors might be useful too!
In its day, the moat would have been an open sewer, rather an unpleasant pong in summer.
A castle in the Dordogne, built on a high cliff, had a loo on a top floor, which was just a hole in a stone slab, that vented down the outside wall.
If the wind was in the wrong direction, the draught blowing up the ''loo flue'' would have made it rather dangerous,
and anyone using it would be likely to ''get their own back'' in the worst possible way!

The most which you think would have smelled terrible! Is not the case, as the effluents were natural no anti biotics! And thousands of carp fish cleaning the waters, and a welcome supplement for the residents.

I really like the moat but...I think Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire is more beautiful than this one.
