  • Bodiam Castle, situated in East Sussex, England, was constructed between 1385 and 1388 as a defensive fortification during the Hundred Years' War and a symbol of its builder, Sir Edward Dalyngrigge's social standing.
This well-preserved medieval castle features a square plan with four corner towers, a central courtyard, a surrounding moat, and a drawbridge. Over the centuries, it changed ownership and went through periods of decline and restoration.
Today, Bodiam Castle is a popular tourist destination owned and managed by the National Trust. It is renowned for its picturesque design and serves as a historical gem, showcasing the medieval architecture and military history of 14th-century England.

This is the most beautiful castle in the whole UK I think. In the UK they still has respect for old builings and castles, Europe, and certainly the Netherlands, can learn something from them, if you don't keep anything old and modernize everything your no longer have history to look back on, it's a beautiful castle !!! 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻

So true. The Europeans have decided their history isn't worth preserving. I guess it's because they think they're so much better than everyone else. Now they've allowed millions of Islamists in to make their own history.
30 years Europe will have completely surrendered/converted to Islam.

Hi Alessa, watched your video in full finally, what an amazing Castle, the moat around the castle still filled with water just magical. The landscape around the castle was beautiful. The walk inside the castle showed how grande this castle would once have been but the ruins are still very well preserved. Loved the tour around the inside and the decorations for halloween, hats from the ceiling and pumpkins by the window, gave it an eerie feel. The views from the tower were beautiful. Loved hearing the ghostly stories your narration is impeccable. The drone footage was stunning as always but as I said earlier it was so magical, Thank you for sharing this wonderful castle with us, take care x Julie and Tony x

"Is THIS England's Most BEAUTIFUL Castle??" . . . . Betteridge's Law would tend to say "no" - Leed's Castle over near Maidstone is far fairer but Bodiam IS beautifully situated in the landscape and a very picturesque ruin so thank you for the extensive (and exhaustive!) tour.
Anybody visiting should take food for the hundreds of huge fish that live in the moat. It's doubtful that the moat would have been THAT polluted - there was little industrial pollution in those times and the organic "waste products" would have been broken down in the reed beds, the fish growing fat on the nutrients - just like the carp ponds of the old monasteries - and have been eaten by the inhabitants.
Lovers of old steam railway journeys can visit the nearby Kent and East Sussex railway - cream teas while puffing through the countryside!

Hi Alessa 😊 just rewatched seen as the premieres were playing up on Sunday. What a great castle. Those staircases do look very narrow and windy 😅 the moat does look beautiful but it’s a shame it was previously used as it was, I imagine your right and it didn’t have the same impression back then. Love that about the bats, sounds like they look after them really well there. The kitchen looks very impressive, like the large fireplaces. 😊 As always so much fantastic information and research done 😊

There is something about this castle that brings tears to my eyes and a pang in my heart...I am sure your voice and presentation is part of this feeling...the music is just perfect...the views from above are magnificent...tales of ghosts and the paranormal experiences would only be expected from such a castle, unusual for the lady to be in red, usually they're wearing white 🤍...spectacular drone views which brought back the thought of the moat being used as the refuse for the toilets ☣ and how bad that smell would have been with so many living there 😝 I must say, this is the most breathtaking castle to date and you did a superb job describing it today!

What a fantastic view from the walkway as your heading to the castle! The castle is so intriguing and I enjoyed hearing about its design and the use of the moat that surrounds it. The tower is similarly built like a tower I walked here about a year ago…neat to see something similar. Thank you for the interesting tour and I enjoyed hearing about bats living there. Great video. 👍😊🇨🇦

This castle is so impressive! It's so well preserved inside. I enjoyed the tour throughout the inside of the castle and the history of the place. The grounds inside the court are so pretty! Amazing! As always I love the exit part of your video 😊
