How wonderful Finlay, I had a great time videoing the meeting with Tenby Lifeboat, but unfortunately, wasn't allowed to share the incredible footage captured that day. Your Grandfather was a real gent, and so accommodating all day to get the amazing shots we had.
The pilot knows this area like the back of his hands, supported with the latest electronic systems....ensuring the utmost safety when out in the Burry Estuary.....Bob
Very good footage Bob. The original sound captured of those twin Honda outboards and the wake behind is better than adding music. If this is with the X920 hand held you have done a great job. Enjoyed it very much. Mike.
What a great adventure Bob.You took really stable shots, you would not expect to on a speedboat. With the lovely off shore views and those engines it was a real treat.Hope you did not catch any spray !. Geoff.
Nice trip, Bob. I've seen quite a few lighthouses during my Merchant Navy days, but never one like that, made of cast iron panels. Fascinating! Regards, Mervyn
Great trip out to Whitford Lighthouse Bob...I bet you really enjoyed that....Would have been nice to be able to get up onto the Lighthouse..i bet it would be very interesting , Once you got passed the Bird muck !! Best wishes...Steve.-:)
It certainly was Steve, you can try and walk out to it from the Gower side at low tide, but it's very difficult to get to as tou have to climb across some very sharp rocks, a seeing it from a boat in expert hands is the best way....All the Best....Bob
Hope you took your seasick tablets Bob ..LOL ..nice one ..she sure sounded good when the throttle was opened up ..and sure could move at speed ...(sorry Knots )...Dave
Thanks Paul, the worst thing they did was to construct a gate across the Harbour mouth, as the twice daily tide, cleared the Harbour without problems. With the soft sand blowing up from Cefn Sidan Beach, they will never stop the build up of sand. It was this same issue that closed Pembrey Harbour, and resulted in Burry Port Harbour to be built.
if I won the lottery I love to buy it and do it up. it was used in world war 2 as target practise I think in the 80s it was up for sale for only like something for £1 on condition you wasn't allowed to live there. and the firm hammer right was prepared to use they product to show how good it was.
Glad I came across this video, it's my grandfather's old boat, nice seeing it again

Terrific new vantage point there. Great view looking out over the stern. Certainly shows the skill it takes manouvering so close to the rocks.

It certainly was Dean, the conditions were perfect for the run...Regards....Bob
Good one, Bob, and very interesting. Is the boat a catamaran?
It is Alan, very fast and very stable even on rough water....Thanks as always....Bob
It was nice to see Burry Port being used properly as the authorities seem to be allowing it to go to rack and ruin now. Badly needs dredging.

I flew my drone from from blurry port to the iron lighthouse it does look amazing.
Has it been uploaded yet Dean, as I can't find it on your Page....Bob

good one bob the lighthouse needs a repaint lol
Thanks Jon, it was on sale a few years back for £1....but it's a grade2 listed building, and would cost a great deal to renovate....Bob
