Charlie Haughey ( Minister for Justice ) banned the novel . It was regarded as “ filth “ in Ireland at the time . Edna ( RIP ) paved the way for women such as Savita Halappanavar who was able to avail of all the advantages of a modern Ireland 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
