I love my landscape rake, one of the first attachments I got. My 88 year old neighbor told me he was worried about fire safety around his home so I offered to go over there tomorrow to see what my ventrac can do for him. I intend on bringing the landscape rake.
I have always thought of the landscape rake as an either/or attachment with the power rake. It seemed from others who make videos on them, you have one or the other, but the power rake supersedes the landscape rake. This video helped with that misconception. Have you ever played around with less aggressive tines? I love the idea of this as a finishing tool after site prep/rough clearing a property to rake up what the tough cut leaves behind, but you would need tines like those of a spring rake versus what is shown in the video to avoid completely demolishing the yard.
We have not, but those would be fairly easy to swap in as a modification. Two candidates for that job would also be the broom and the turbine blower. The blower usually has enough force to re-locate cut-up debris, especially if it's been left to dry out for a day or two. The broom does a good job when it's a little harder of material and also works for cleaning stump grinding chips out of nice grass or rocks out of the yard from a gravel driveway.
I love the landscape rake too! They are a great tool for finishing as well as cleaning up. I don’t even want to guess how much the Ventrac brand is. I use a 60” Frontier brand behind my Ventracs with the three point adapter. I put the grapple bucket on the front and carry out twice as much debris at a time.
I my self don’t have a Ventrac but really really am in the market for one some day . When that day comes I would like to have a smooth drum vibratory roller that would attach to the three point hitch so I could use the power rake in front and compact in the rear the drum doesn’t even have to be heavy could use down pressure from the rear of the machine any way waiting on my time I can pull the trigger
It can run in float, the hydraulic lift can either raise and lower the tines or in float, when I use it, you can curve the tines down or up, it’s awesome.
I wonder could the rake be used in back while running the power rake in the front, especially during the final pass? I see that as a benefit in several ways- on gravel it would remove grass etc turned up by the rake, remove larger unwanted stones, and hide the tire tracks and for landscaping work, it would remove tire tracks, debris and leave a smooth final grade.
I just got my Terra Rake with extensions and hydraulic kit, the only weird thing about this attachment is no parking stand. Its interesting too hook up in that regard. Any suggestions?
Good question! The first step would be to put the machine in float and move the tines to the point where they just touch down. This allows the hitch arms to be in the right place and removes the need for a parking stand.
@@ventrac thanks! Here are some observations. Well I have run this Terra rake for an hour or so, learning. This has some definite advantages over the P rake; its very intuitive, it can put a crown in very easily and it allows me to get right next to an obstacle, like a foundation or in my case, a railroad tie border and pull built up material the power rake cant reach. Adjusting depth is easily learned, having the hydraulic tilt control is a must!! I cant imagine jumping on/off constantly to screw it up/down manually. Its far less dusty to use and you can run 1/2 throttle and save some gas $$$. I think for non rutted drives, this is a better tool than the power rake.

That is awesome to hear. We hope the project is a success!
Got my ventrac at the end of last season and am ready to put it to work starting my business this year!
We wish you the best of luck! Thanks for choosing Ventrac!
Rewatched, sold me on it! I love the Ventrack! Absolutely the best!
I would definitely own the landscape rake and power rake as a combo if I had a Ventrac. Let me correct myself. When I get a Ventrac.
Just contact your local dealer and set up an in person demo when you're ready! www.ventrac.com/dealers
I always learn something from these videos. Thanks.

I love this machinery! I want one so badly!

Neat suggestion Scott. We will forward this to R&D!
Excellent work !
Thanks for watching it!
Does this run in float, or can you do the height adjust with the SDLA vs using the additional hydraulic lift?
It can run in float, the hydraulic lift can either raise and lower the tines or in float, when I use it, you can curve the tines down or up, it’s awesome.
You will want to run it in float. You can learn about the tine height adjustment here: 04:40

If you try that, let us know how it goes!
I use my rake more than anything else!
Why not put the wheels behind the rake tines?
Nice
A perfect tool. How much for replacement tines?
Current price in 2022 is just a little under $20 per tine. I've never replaced one though....they're incredibly durable.

@@ventrac I agree, they’ve pulled up small boulders out of the ground and keep on going.

Hey Ventrac, I would like one of these but my local dealer doesnt want to help me anymore after I got the tractor. *Tumbleweed rolls by*
We are sorry to hear that. Shoot us an email at info@ventrac.com so we can help you out ✊
