I was there for Super Dirt Week 1990 ! Best weather for that week ever ! Awesome racing all week! Sammy Swindell , Wolfie, Blaney never lifted on track you can hear each engine during time trials! AMAZING!!!!!! Sorry for the racing fans that never made it to the Moody Mile. Rain Snow or Cold we braved many Super Dirt Weeks and loved them all, loved the mile!
Ahh lived 2 miles away whole life ,might have seen a modified race but most likley to young to remember ,all i do is Monster jam and tractor pulls, was just curios to see if they ever ran there so searched 20 years to late, and now Rolling wheels is done ahhh Need fast 410 track.
Its crazy to hear them talk about starting on the back straight. This was one of the first races to restart on the back straight, for the next decade or so most open wheel dirt tracks and organizations would adopt this and move to restarts to the back stretch. Then in early to mid 2000’s everyone moved back to restarting off of turn 4.
Impossible to find now. I use to work in the DIRT studio so I made a bunch of copies of races. Though I lost about a dozen tapes over the years from lending them out and never getting them back.
#RIPMoodyMile This track was torn down by the NY state government, and now houses an expo center and a parking lot. I refuse to ever set foot on those grounds again.
too bad all those inconsiderate race fans over the years damaged the fairground property and created all of the trouble and finally the state had enough of it.blame who they want....
Listen up Johnny Shitstain, the only reason no one has kicked you out of the dirt racing community all together is because they feel bad that you almost made a smoked brisket of yourself. It takes a REAL LOSER to think the fans had a single thing to do with Cuomo trying to make a fucking legacy for himself and destroy another piece of history that Central NY created itself with no help from Albany which they CAN'T FUCKING STAND. You're a fucking moron who's proved it time and time again both on and off a race track and just about everyone in the dirt community in the northeast lost respect for you a long time ago. Fuck yourself.
Agree, loved the layout a full 1 mile from the inside. More straight than turns. Approx 1500 feet or 1/3 mile (3/10's) each straight, approx 500 feet or 1/10mile for each of the 4 turns. 3/10 plus 3/10 plus 4/10 = 1 mile.
Awesome.. I'll have to look for it. And you are correct Joe Gosek and others raced a couple times with the WoO at Styacuse, and I think he had a couple top 10s. Then for I think one or two years the Super Mods had their own race at Super DIRT Week.
I wish someone would come across some videos of the Westborough speedway they used to run the midgets late models modify used to be a real nice track course it got shut down Westboro was known for that track
there were a couple years that super mods ran with the outlaws at SDW....theres a great vid on the history of the super mod from IMRRC out of watkins glen... check it out....

If you own the World Of Outlaws Syracuse dvd sets (80s and 90s) this race is not included...
I've wanting them to bring the WOO to the Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky...lol
I'd like to see the late models run that mile track too
the Oswego supers ran on their own with the last race being in 1987, after that a few mixed in with the outlaws

Those fans are too close to the track. Those cars could fly though the air and wipe out four or five people.
Stay home.
