I have the 2021 JD Coy Hill and it's fantastic. I personally wouldn't pay more than $150 for any JD products. I love your bourbon hunts across the country.
I tried the tanager this weekend and didnt love it, tanic for sure, tried a store pick still austin cask strength 6 year old that was amazing right next to it. Fan of their stuff, the packaging was incredible just missed my palate.
My Wife and I were just at Leipers Fork Distillery in Nov of 2024. I looked for a Cask Strength as like you that is my jam, the only thing they were marketing was a Bottled in Bond. The bourbon was delicious, I think the Tennessee Whiskey may have been better? How do you get your hands on the Single Barrell Cask Strength? I was also thrilled to find Cat's Eye Nassif Family Reserve sitting on the local shelves for $48.00 or so a bottle.
Love the videos, really like the addition of the hero cam! If possible, could you maybe move the bottle closer/cam closer/change the focus? The little details on the bottles were a shy small on video to make out. Appreciate your content and hope the Brewzle fam has a good 2025!
My favorite rye is a Peerless Double oaked rye = Distillery only release. I went to Louisville for my 60th birthday and Corky signed the bottle. Amazing.
TJ I had a Weller full proof barrel pick at the bar I go to and it rivaled the russels 15s I've tried. It's the only Weller full proof I've had. Was it a good pick or they all that good?
I’m warming up with a light Four Roses small batch. Then I will move up to 100proof 9yr Knob Creek. After that I have 125.5proof Larceny Barrel Strength B524 batch.
Glad I tried the RR15 before I made that train wreck a reality.... it solidified my mind that no liquor is worth stupid secondary prices. Fortaleza Repo is about the most I pay for a bottle.
Do not over pay for those overpriced hyped bourbons. I'm sure some are fantastic, but what do you expect to experience for $500, $800 or $1000. I've had really good allocated whiskey at Msrp and trust me they are not worth the extra dollars the stores are asking.
I appreciate your list, but you mentioning that you got a jack and cherry coke & not a coy sample may mean something that we don't know about you, that you're not mentioning! Or you simply don't communicate enough with the distilleries. It did seem like A LOT OF CHANNELS got media samples on YT!

Highend bourbon prices make no sense. Russel’s 10 with tax in BC Canada where I live is $45 USD. Whereas Russel’s 15 (not available here) is marked up to $500+ at US retailers? Just goofy. I do enjoy Bourbon but most drink Scotch whisky, and as bad as some prices for Scotch go up with age, it’s nothing like this. 5 extra years is 10x the price? Sounds like allocation and mass produced scarcity tactics to sucker in the fomo consumer.
